I live in the area and this happens to be the closest laundromat to me but upon reading the reviews I was horror struck and was honestly dreading coming in. But boy does the phrase "don't judge a book by its cover" come into play in situations like these. Yes, the laundromat is small and not the cleanest but which laundromat is? Not only was the lady so sweet but she also gave me change for $20 without any complaint and upon striking a conversation with her, she was laughing and giggling and being so friendly and sweet. Being nice doesn't hurt! A lot of these reviews saying the owner is super rude and curt is subjective - be nice to people and they will be nice back. Lek the owner is like family to me at this point. I walk several blocks now to use her as she is the only person to not screw up my clothes. Her prices are really good. Her work is impeccable. I have been using her since 2017 when I moved to the city and I will be sad when I dont see her weekly anymore. She always gives me the best hugs and yes, if you are nice to her she is nice to you. I haven't had a bad experience with the owner nor does she come off rude. I was short a quarter and did not have any cash on me and she was able to spot me one to finish my load of clothes. The only reason why I took off a star is because there are times where I've had to wait for machines to be available because a lot of them are either out of order or reserved for people doing drop off service. Pretty decent spot and cheapest in the area to do your laundry. It's a small space so keep in mind not to linger around. I won't lie, the lady here is pretty rude. While I was in the middle of folding my laundry she asked me to move so she could fold a client's laundry in the exact spot I was in. Kinda poor business practice. My roommate also said she yelled at him for not operating the door handle to the washer properly. It is a good value though, $3 per wash load and $0.25 for every 6mins of drying (dryers are huge). Place is kept clean. I have been coming here, to my local laundromat, for months now and have always been treated poorly. Always greeting them with a hello or wishing them a great weekend with nothing in return. Although disappointing, it is fine. However, my last experience was extremely disheartening . Just as heads up to those who wish to launder here, this place closes at 8, not 8:30. I put my wash in at 7 allowing me a 40 minute dry cycle. I was verbally harassed as I took my belongings out of the washer and into the dryer. I choose this laundromat for its price and cleanliness. The machines and floors are always kept clean which I appreciate. Also, it's $3.00 for a wash, which is significantly cheaper than the laundromat I live right next to that charges $5.50 for a wash (Todd Layne). The owner who runs the place makes sure that she keeps the laundry moving, so you might have to wait for a machine during peak time, but she keeps an eye on them and moves the laundry to make room for yours. 4 stars instead of 5 because I really wish it wasn't coin operated, I used to go to a laundromat that used a card and it was way easier. read more

I feel like there's just something about laundry in NYC that by nature is a little grimy, but I digress. The most recent price point that the previous Yelp reviewer listed is accurate and to me that's the cheapest I've found yet! I'm giving this place 3 instead of 4 stars because I wish the outside of the machines were as clean as the inside (although I guess it's the inside that really counts and what I might be noticing might just be due to useage and age... it's not like *dirty* per se), and it would a big plus if they had somewhere to sit and read a book. I just moved literally next door so I went in to ask some questions and she was so rude to me and made me feel so stupid for asking how much a load is. Also bring your own tide pods and such because she charges $1 PER TIDE POD!!! Such a rip off!!! I walk the extra few blocks to come here because they are priced incredibly well (especially for the UES), the machines work well, and it is overall a great experience. It is $3.00 for a wash (the cycles are 25 minutes) and $0.25 for 6 minutes -- I usually only need to do 30 minutes, so it comes out to a very reasonable $4.50 for all of my clothes. The woman who I assume runs the shop is incredibly kind and helpful - she noticed me struggling to work the machines and was swift to help. They also will do your laundry full service, priced per pound, which I can't review personally but I often see customers coming in and out so I can only imagine they do well. I've been to this place twice last week as the laundry machines in my building were out of order. The 2nd time I came, I opened a brand new bottle of laundry detergent and did two loads. When I came back to put my laundry in the dryer, the woman had a funny look on her face. I was wondering why when I realized that half of the bottle of the laundry detergent was gone. When I asked her what happened to it she quickly answered that she didn't know, that the bottle was exactly where I left it etc... too many fast and guilty explanations. That was really lame. I have coming here for almost two years and the lady is always a little moody. However, today I put my laundry in this morning and then got caught up with work calls so was not able to put the laundry in the dryer right on time. Upon arriving to put it in the dryer, the lady was extremely rude and told me to make sure I come back for the dried laundry in time.
