The table was very comfortable (most Asian massage tables are too hard for me) and has a head cradle instead of a hole in the table. The staff that I met was very nice. The negative comments that I have read seem to be from people that are not knowledgeable about Asian massage spas. To address some of the negative comments: Almost all Asian spas that I have gone to ask for a "tip" upfront. It's why the advertised prices are so low. The $ that I paid, including the upfront tip, for a 90 minute massage was appropriate for an upscale place like this. If you are polite the people you talk to are nice to you too. From my experience with just about every Asian spa that I have visited they say "we are busy" when they don't have any availability at that time. It's because of their limited English, not because they are being rude. Most Asian spas don't have a receptionist. That's how they keep their prices low. It is common for your massage person to have to answer the phone or door during your massage. The only negative thing is that their advertised price, including what they quote over the phone, doesn't include the mandatory tip. If you walk in to make an appointment for a later time they tell you the full price upfront. As a Japanese Asian spa they do not do reflexology foot treatments (massages) From my experience in Japan it is customary for female staff to only massage male clients and male staff to massage female clients. It's not sexist. It's cultural.

The original masseuse found the knots in my back, neck, shoulders, and left hip and went straight to work. But midway through the session, someone else entered the room and took over without warning. First off, her hands were freezing. Second, she was completely worthless--zero pressure, no deep tissue work at all, just loads of oil and light rubbing. She "worked" on my right leg, but did absolutely nothing to address the muscle tension. By the end of the session, I was drenched in oil and literally walking with a limp because my left leg had been properly massaged by the first person, but my right leg received zero actual treatment. To make matters worse, when my girlfriend (who had the same masseuse for her entire session) approached the manager about why my therapist was switched, the manager's excuse was: "Oh, because it was her turn." I called the following day to inquire about the difference and was informed that the Self-Care Package must be paid for in advance in order to receive the package pricing. While I understand policies are important, this requirement was never mentioned when I booked the appointment, despite my specifically requesting the package and informing staff that I would be using a gift card. I also reviewed the website and was unable to find any information indicating that advance payment was required to receive the package rate. From a customer service perspective, this was disappointing. I booked the exact services included in the package and clearly requested that package when scheduling. Had I been informed of the advance payment requirement, I could have addressed it at that time. Instead, I was charged approximately $30 more for the same services. Given the circumstances--and especially after I called to explain that the package was chosen because the gift card amount closely matched the package price--I would have appreciated some flexibility or consideration. I also explained an Associate never called me as they usually do to confirm the appointment and asked if their approach had changed. She responded that she needed to pay her employee and close her books, which missed the point entirely. She also mentioned an email had been sent - I later found it in my junk folder, but I had no reason to look there for an appointment I didn't make. Had I seen it, I would have contacted them to correct their error. While I've had positive experiences at Lapis & Oak, I'm disappointed in how this situation was handled. We are locked in for a full year, and if you cancel, any unused credits are forfeited unless used within 60 days -- no exceptions from last date of membership. Credit usage is unbelievably rigid. You cannot transfer credits to the same person or family member unless they've waited six months if they've used up a credit transfer before , and you cannot combine credits (like 1.5 credits) for any person you decide to transfer it to. (Note that there is even a charge of $10.00 for each transfer service) 1.5 -- credits usage are exclusive for the member only. This leaves you stuck and frustrated if you want to use it your way. Escalated this to upper management, - Alex, the person in charge today refused to bend the rules not even as a one-time courtesy. The policies are tightwad, inflexible, and completely customer-unfriendly. We were enrolled to another Henderson branch prior to moving to this location and a lot has changed since then re: policies became tighter and will not recommend this to our friends and family. I strongly regret signing up and urge others to read every detail before committing.

She turnt me over after 35 mins and did a neck massage for 5 mins and during that the cameras in the room Showed a gentleman come in the front door she spent a few mins looking into the camera the next thing I know she kinda touched my kegs and said we were done.
