Sierra S.

I had a very disappointing experience with Nevada Heating and want to warn others before using their services. In April 2023, I called them to fix an issue with my gas fireplace, where it would randomly turn back on after being switched off from the wall. Two technicians came out and convinced me that bypassing the wall switch and installing a remote control would solve the problem. I was skeptical but went ahead with their recommendation since they assured me there was a warranty. Fast forward to winter 2023--when I started using the fireplace again, the same issue persisted. The fireplace still turns on randomly, and now the remote they installed doesn't even work to turn it on or off. When I contacted Nevada Heating, they told me this wasn't covered under warranty because the remote itself was "functioning properly." So now I'm stuck with a remote I never wanted and the original problem unresolved. To make matters worse, when I called customer service again, they said they could send a technician--at my expense for $170--to diagnose the very problem they failed to fix in the first place. Conveniently, they also have no record of my original call within the warranty period. This company does not stand behind its work, and instead of making things right, they try to squeeze more money out of customers. I strongly recommend finding a more responsible company that actually backs its services and supports its customers. #NevadaHeating #CustomerServiceFail #UntrustworthyBusiness #PoorService

Rather than putting the correct size filter in, the tech cut up 2 and taped them together. Then taped that to the opening. Cheap!

(With a household of 6 the daily use of the washing machine, bathtubs, and dishwasher had to be carefully timed and even then we sometimes had to use water that wasn't the appropriate temperature; having hot water on demand has been a lifesaver during this season of raising young children). Dirty Plumber was quick to respond to my husband's quote request and the company was transparent with pricing. I really feel we got a good value and quality work. After the work was completed, I later saw the business owner volunteering at AWANAS (apparently he's a regular who volunteers every week with the kids); this gave me further confidence that the owner must be genuine guy who's speal about how he was able to offer the best price really could be trusted. I *WILL* say that had I been the one looking at quotes (rather than my husband) the name "Dirty Plumber" would not have necessarily deterred me but the ugly cartoon mascot painting on their company truck certainly may have! I would imagine oftentimes women are the ones who arrange their schedule to let the employee in to do the work and the "plumber's crack", actively smoking while working, disheveled grumpy looking mascot painted on their van didn't exactly paint a picture of professionalism, reliability, or safety. THANKFULLY, I felt the owner and employee who arrived to do the work were professional in their interactions, overall appearance, time on task, and attention to detail (the tankless water heater is installed evenly on my garage wall and the insulation on it looks neat and tidy). If you are considering switching to a tankless water heater I highly recommend Dirty Plumber. Their price is great, they are thorough, and the quality work is evident.

No one enjoys dealing with plumbing emergencies or issues, but if you're looking for someone fair, honest and true to their word, you need to hire the services of The Dirty Plumber. I bought the replacement spigot parts at Home Depot, and he did the labor. He educated me on a tankless water heater to replace my old 50 gallon water heater while explaining the benefits of going tankless. I also have the option of purchasing a water filtration system too. I'm probably moving forward on both systems in the next few months, and will rely on his services for parts and installation. I've included some before and after photos of the outside water spigot. As you can see from the after photo, the water leakage issue is completely resolved. Not a single drop of water is coming out of the spigot now!

I spent most of yesterday trying to release a clog in my kitchen sink drain. After failing all DIY remedies, I called at 7 a.m. this morning. I left my details with (I think) an answering service, and I got a call back from Mark in TWO MINUTES to schedule an appointment for 2p-4p same day. I'm pretty sure he's the owner. He and Kai called when on their way, arrived right around 2 p.m., and triaged the situation efficiently and quickly. I got an immediate quote which seemed very fair to me, and they completed the cleaning of ~25' of my drain in 30 minutes. Mark was very friendly and easygoing, and ALSO very knowledgeable and professional. I have my plumber for life. I wish I could give them 6 stars!

I complained and escalated my service request specifically for Van Allen Plumbing, with whom I'd worked many times in the past. Martin arrived in less than 24 hrs and turned off hot water heater's main water and gas lines. He confirmed the 1992 unit was kaput and sent confirmation for a new hot water heater w/all code upgrades required to pass permit inspection. He drained the water heater and swept the standing water out of my garage to create a safe surface to walk on. This was very important, bc I'd just had a total hip replacement and was cautioned to avoid slippery surfaces. I'm happy to report Gabe and Roman installed a new water heater that passed City of Reno permit inspection in less time than it would've taken the other guys just come out to inspect the old one. Once again, Van Allen Plumbing came to the rescue, and I could not be happier!

The company sent out a young but very knowledgeable and adept plumber out the next day, who made quick work of removing the old tank, helping me rebuild the platform that was now ruined, and installed a new tank with new piping. I was very impressed with the speed and expertise of the job! While maybe not the cheapest company I received a quote from, it was certainly not as expensive as many of the lower-rated companies, and had the quickest turnaround to my family's hot water back on. Today (six months after the new install), the release valve popped on the water heater and we lost hot water. I shut it down and turned off the water and gas, and immediately called for help. It was 4pm (and I live in Fernley). I had taken a photo, as well, and texted it to them showing exactly what to expect. By 5:15pm, there was a plumber at my door (they made record time all the way from Reno in heavy traffic on I-80!) and they repaired the faulty valve and also repaired an exhaust pipe (from original home construction) that had started bending. All under warranty from the work they had done previously for me. Again, I was very impressed, and I am 100% completely satisfied by having chosen such a reputable plumbing company!

I made an appointment for the beginning of the following week to make the repair. Junior showed up on time, and completed the repair in a few hours. This was impressive because he had to go under the house and go to Home Depot for an additional part. He was friendly, punctual and didn't leave anything for me to clean up. I am pleased that Omega Plumbing & Heating was able to repair the faucet within a week of calling them. The price was reasonable for such an in-depth repair, and now my flower garden won't have a permanent wet patch next year.
