Cheese Grilled Philly Steak Sandwich
Victoria E.

Would like to give more stars as food was good but service was non existent. The Philly sandwich was good the fry's great ! Waitress would give a 1 star did not bring items /condiments asked for and since never saw her again never got. Drinks went dry, it was lunch but still some staff standing around. Loud busy place with usually good to great food.

Omlette

The only star is for the staff--our server was very kind and attentive. Unfortunately, the food was really disappointing. * The mushrooms in the omelette were undercooked. * The jalapeños were pickled (not fresh), and the cheese quality was subpar. * The tortillas in the migas tasted stale. We ended up leaving most of the food untouched but were still charged for everything. Our server actually called the manager over, but instead of being understanding, the manager was defensive about the food. He did offer to replace the food but we didn't want to take that chance. Overall, not worth the price and not a good dining experience.

Chocolates and Candies - sold by total weight! (December, 2022)

Nothing fancy. An institution this is here at Preston Hallow. Dependable good service. For lunch, I love their Chicken Salad or Reuben Sandwich. At teatime, coffee and cake please. Not only a cafe, their beautiful store is filled with lovely Belgium chocolates and imported sweets. With so many closed, happy I am that this LOCAL neighborhood gem survived the pandemic. CHEERS!

Avocado toast with egg

This review is a breakfast review as we went for breakfast today- I grew up going to Neuhaus as a kid and always looked forward to it- I mean what kid doesn't love a place with tons of chocolate and candy??! It was a dream!! Honestly, I hadn't been for years, partly because I don't live in town. I was excited to try it again. The pancakes are huge ! Kids loved the pancakes! I had the avocado toast- it was good. I would have preferred pickled onions on top instead of raw as I feel like that is pretty normal for avocado toast. Egg was cooked well. Next time we will try lunch !! Our kids left with of course a sweet treat ! They also have a nice outside space even with heaters which was a great setup. Definitely try out this gem!

My latte and brownie!

Me + 2 kids love coming to this little coffee house to enjoy an afternoon of computer stuff or board games. The ice cream sundaes are wonderful as the teas and their brownies! We have yet to eat lunch at this establishment but see other patrons enjoying their meals. We'll have to venture back to do that next time. The great thing is if you are needing a special chocolate gift for someone special, you can shop there for a very unique and delicious gift!

This place is really a mixed bag for me. There are things that I like about it and things that I am not so high on. The atmosphere at this location is very Starbucks in the way it feels. Several times while I was eating could not but think how much it felt like that. Mind you not that that is a bad thing it just is an observation. The service was good fast and friendly. Our weight person was very attentive even though she was pretty busy. There seem to be a lot of regulars coming in and out because there were several people that she knew which was very nice. The food here is probably what bothers me most about this place. It is very average at not so average prices. For example, for dinner both of us had half a sandwich and a cup of soup. I indulged in a chocolate sundae after dinner. There were no drinks ordered for we only had water. The bill came to $36.50. Now keep in mind to halfs is the equivalent of one whole sandwich and two cups of soup a scoop of ice cream and some chocolate sauce and you begin to realize this place is really expensive.

Just one of the candy/ cake cases.

I enjoyed the tortilla soup. I usually order the tuna sandwich, because I like the way it is prepared. The candies & cakes are special.

It had a nice, warm, and welcoming feel, which made it a comfortable spot to sit and enjoy a quick treat. The staff was attentive and took my order pretty quickly, which I appreciated. My Americano came out hot and had a really good bold flavor. I love adding cream to my coffee, and once I did, it balanced out that strong kick perfectly. The beignets were made fresh to order and took about 7 minutes to come out. They were hot, soft, and very fluffy, almost more similar to a donut than a traditional beignet. Since most of my beignet experience comes from New Orleans, Louisiana, I definitely had a different texture in mind going in. I personally wish they had been a little crispier, especially around the edges, but they were still decent and enjoyable. Overall, I had a good experience. Between the welcoming atmosphere, attentive service, good coffee, and fresh beignets, I would definitely try Le Bon Temps again without hesitation.

The young ladies just don't greet you or have the patience, or help out each other. The little guy in front me asked for a milkshake and the young lady ask in a rude way what cookie and ice cream flavor he wanted. I notice and was in disbelief in how she asked, i didn't step in only because parent wasn't around and i didn't want to cause a scene. I only remained there because I wanted to taste the hype about the ice cream. As the young boy was being help, two minutes had gone by and finally i was helped by the cashier, I was not greeted, she only said next. I ordered a scoop of strawberries & cream, and it was so GOOD! It was so creamy and soft, just the way I love it. I'll probably go back again and I hope they have different flavors to try.

The server working today 9/18 was very generous with her scooping and we deeply appreciate it. After a few samples, we settled on the Coffee Oreo and the Strawberry cream. Both were solid. Coolhaus has a roving ice cream truck but this location is inside the Farmers Market just a few blocks south of Elm Street, which is also a pretty cool place to grab lunch or a tchotchke. Come down and check it out and if you've been to the shaved ice place here, friend me with some feedback.
