The second star is for the sandwich. It was made quickly and tasted good, but that was it. I came here on a Sunday evening around 7:30 p.m. and I am writing this while I am finishing my meal. The young lady who worked the front had a blank look on her face with no smile, like she didn't want to be there. I ordered a combo, but she didn't indicate what size drink I got so I just grabbed a regular-sized cup. After I got my drink I came back to the front counter and she had just laid the sandwich at the front without giving me notice that it was ready. If somebody else had come in they could have grabbed it. I was working on a writing project on my computer, but the atmosphere at the restaurant made this a considerable challenge. Loud R&B/rap music was playing during my time there, and some of it was laced with f-bombs and the n-word. I'm all for having (there goes another n-word on the in-house stereo system) music while working, but the volume needed to be cut in half at least and the profanity needs to be cut out completely before more customers complain. As for the disinterested young lady who doesn't appear to be enjoying her job, you better act like you care and turn the music down a little or you won't have a job in the near future. read more

Burnt bread. Barstools were all upside down on the tables during lunch rush at 1:00P.M. Worst part was I asked for a new piece of bread and they refused to give me WHITE bread; not brown rubber crusty bread. The cashier relayed the message that the bread is brown and I wanted new bread and he said I would have to pay for the bread or a new sandwich and that he wasn't making me one again for free either. I replied just as rudely as it was to say that with a response I DID NOT ASK FOR A NEW SANDWICH; I asked for a piece of non-cardboard bread. I come here whenever I'm looking for a delicious sub. The ingredients are always fresh and the staff is always professional as well as welcoming and nice. I also get their Unwich when I'm not eating bread. The way they wrap it is amazing. It's easy to eat and stays together so well. It's a real treat. You should try it sometime. I never ever submit reviews, but I'm actually shocked at how rude the employees were to my mom ... my mom was rightfully upset that it took them almost 2 hours to get us our sandwiches and the delivery driver yelled "DON'T START WITH ME" at her - I am very empathetic to being short staffed and being in a pandemic, but they were completely out of line with that. Blaming your own faults on a pandemic (when we've ordered many of times during and after the pandemic and having it here fresh within 20 minutes) is the lamest excuse I've ever heard. Is it a pandemic? In't the president and nearly all his staff currently infected? Yeh... but Jeffrey seems to not care about our health. I walked in fully masked to the shop. The employee (Jeffrey) was sitting down at a table and then went behind the register to take my order. He was wearing his Dr. Dre headphones and a surgical mask. However the mast was purposely not over his nose, just over his mouth. After I paid and he turned around to put on gloves - I asked him to put the mask over his nose (while breathing over my sandwiches being made). He rolled his eyes hard and gave a sarcastic sounding 'yeh.' At the end when my sandwiches were in finished, another guy came in and bagged it up, but he was only wearing a bandana over his face - which the CDC is only a last case and lowest protection you can have. I took my sandwiches and left - when I shut the down I could see that Jeffrey pulled his mask back down under his nose and continued to make some orders that came in from the phone. Come on. The sandwiches are good and fresh, services is okay. We order for deliver often and they mostly run late, so we always do order considering the delays. It's being a few times that we get a credit for the inconvenience since we keep waiting on the delivery. I would say that the manager is nice with the follow up and costumer service in this location which is nice for a fast food restaurant, most of them don't even care. Updating from 4 stars to 1. I order JJ catering at work at least weekly, so know what to expect from a service standpoint. This wasn't it. In-store they have been fine but delivery took 44 minutes tonight for 3 sandwiches within 2.5 miles. Driver said they are having a busy night and only 2 drivers working. Doesn't sound like a good excuse when fast delivery is a main selling point. I ordered JJ because we wanted our food quickly; it will not happen again. Next time I will just order from a regular restaurant since it apparently takes the same amount of time. I would have chalked it up to a bad night but Yelp reviews show that the delivery problems here are known and have been going on for a while. Wanting some food besides Asian or pizza being delivered to my apt I finally checked out JJ's. They deliver pretty fast as they advertise. Well maybe not that fast, but pretty quickly. I ordered the #9, the Italian Night club, along with a drink, chips, and a pickle. Online ordering was pretty easy and they label your sandwiches, so you can easily sort out your orders. Sandwich was pretty good and it was made exactly the way I wanted it according to the online order. It's no Quizno's, Subway, or Potbelly's, but they deliver and when you're a lazy sob like me, JJ's works. read more

I must say that I am a little partial and quit possibly biased regarding this location. I worked about 5 minutes away for a few years and would eat Jimmy John's every Friday for lunch. I always get the same thing (#16!!) and the staff was very quick to pick that up. I would usually have my sandwich made before I could even park my car and walk in the door. I always felt pretty special when I went to this location to say the least. My sandwich was always right and obviously ready in a timely manner. I love the bread they use here which is what got me hooked in the first place. As I mentioned, staff is very responsive and always friendly. I am never disappointed with them. They are so accommodating and such a friendly helpful crew. Now, this was just before closing (I believe), so that may color the review. It shouldn't - customers five minutes before close should get the same service as people during the day, but reality is often not that way. We were trying to find a place open after 8:30pm for a quick dinner, which is harder than you would think. The Spousal Unit mentioned Jimmy John's, we had never been, it was on the way home. Done. There were lights on and people in the restaurant when we pulled up. There wasn't an obvious sign for the hours anywhere, so we went in. The music was loud. I mean loud. The music was so loud, I was looking for a mosh pit or Marines trying to get enemy soldiers to surrender. I'm pretty sure it was designed to get people to leave. This is very uncool. The sandwiches were average. I don't understand what is "gourmet" about it - it's a selection of fillings on bread. I would rather have Potbelly's or Subway. As someone above said, try Jersey Mike's. I place my order (ultimate porker [more on that in a minute]) either online, or by phone, and the sandwich is usually delivered within 10-12 minutes. How? I have the menu memorized, I have the store locations (just about all of them for DFW) stored like GPS locations in my head. I know how to order the #5 Vito so that its just like the #9 Italian Night club w/o the up charge. I know that some places charge for spicy peppers and have cheaper cookies, but other places have free spicy peppers and more expensive cookies. One or the other but not both free peppers and cheaper cookies. The vegetarian is even good, and I'm a meat eater! Try it on the 7 grain bread. But mostly stick to the French bread, I love how the end of the french bread is crispy crunchy. I'm currently hooked on the #16 Club Lulu +peppers. read more

Jimmy John's has great bread...other than that, I am not too crazy about their sandwiches. They are fine, just not special. My biggest complaint (and I know this is childish) is that they don't have yellow mustard to squeeze on your sandwich. If you want yellow mustard, they give you packets to add yourself. No big deal, just kind of annoying. Anyway, they are true to their mantra in that they make "subs so fast you'll freak." They are quick and friendly at this location; however, I am not sure how they stay in business especially since Potbelly's went in across the street. It is never busy except for around lunch with the hospital crowd. If you are sick of Potbelly, JJ's is definitely better than Subway and fast, fast, fast. read more

Long over due review. I started eating at JJ in college a few years ago. It was one of those late nights out at the bar and there happen to be a JJ near campus. I ordered the #2, no tomatoes, add sprouts and onions. I have been in love ever since. I think the French bread is laced with crack because I have serious withdrawal if I don't get a fix in at least once a week. They are super speedy and usually very nice. I've eaten at locations in Houston, Missouri, Austin, and of course here in Dallas and they are consistently good. Online ordering and delivery is speedy and convenient. Jimmy John's was a stop on the way down to the drive in movie theatre Friday night. What can I say about another sandwich shop? JJ loves their mayo. Out of 18 sandwiches on the menu only 2 don't come with mayo. Fortunately you can have it removed. I'm not a mayo fan. The other great thing about JJs, they are FAST! By the time I finished filling up my soda and turned around my sandwich was ready. Seriously, this beats every fast food restaurant to shame. (advertised made to order in 30 seconds) Basic subs $4.25 and giant clubs for only $5.25 you can't beat the price either. How is the sandwich? Pretty damn good.
