My first-floor bathroom, front hallway and entire kitchen needed to be gutted. The team manager of the mitigation company that I used, suggested David Colite of Colite Construction simply because he used the same program that the insurance companies use to build estimates for damage repairs. Supposedly it was more seamless to work with a contractor that used this program. Due to the fact that I was so busy with school and taking care of my girls, I agreed to go with David Colite. It was the worst decision I could have made. I am confident that David Colite will respond to this negative review like he has with others on other reputable websites; stating that he is really upset that I am writing this, that he did everything I asked of them and that I signed the job satisfaction form. He told me multiple times that I was an awesome client and quite honestly I know that I was. I paid him on time and I wasn't phased when he needed to be at another job for a day to receive a delivery or do work. I was kind, patient and trusting...too trusting, my mistake. It wasn't until we were nearing the end of the job that I started seeing the poor workmanship and even worse I realized that he had charged me for several items that had never been purchased and in fact, I had purchased them myself. The signed contract stated that the job would be completed by May 31, 2018. The last time he was at my home was June 26, 2018 and the job was not near completion. I wish that I could post the text messages and recorded voicemails from him promising to complete the work after I raised my concerns, specifically responding, "Piece of cake. I had planned on doing most of that today. We will take care of all of that not a problem." It wasn't until I asked him to do the right thing and reimburse me for over $3,000 that he received payment on and yet he did not purchase the materials or perform the work, that he replied letting me know that his work was done, that the project was complete and wished me good luck. I also wish that I could post the multiple photos of the work that he and his children did at my home, the craftsmanship is so poor. If you look at the photos I took of my kitchen from afar, they look beautiful. That is what he used to send to the insurance company to show the work was complete. No other photos were sent because the bathroom was not near completion. If I was able to post close-up photos of the kitchen, you would see the multiple corners that were cut and how poor the craftsmanship is. He put the job satisfaction one-sheet in front of me as I was racing out the door to pick up my children, and more importantly he did this prior to the work being completed. My attorney laughed at the job satisfaction form, stating that it would NEVER stand up in court and is extremely unprofessional. I also wish that I could share the PowerPoint document that I created for the insurance company that is 20 pages long with specifics of everything that happened from April to late June of this year. At the end of the day, I was too kind, too generous, and too trusting of David Colite of Colite Construction. Lesson learned. This man is not to be trusted. All that he cares about is getting paid and will cut corners on anything to get the job completed. Luckily, I have consulted with my attorney and I will be working with my insurance company to get the work done properly.

My experience with this company has been nothing short of frustrating and disappointing. I hired them to sealcoat my driveway, and within less than a month, the asphalt started to deteriorate. It was clear that incredibly cheap and low-quality materials were used. The surface began to crack and flake almost immediately -- something that should never happen with a proper sealcoating job. I contacted Anselmo (the owner) multiple times -- at least 15 -- and every time he had a different excuse for not showing up to fix the issue. He promised to come back and make things right, but those were just empty words. It's obvious now that he had no intention of following through. This company does not stand behind its work, and in my experience, Anselmo is dishonest and unreliable. I discovered a leak in the ceiling of my 1st-floor half bath, and traced that all the way up…read morethrough my office to the attic. It took a while for me, as a first-time homeowner, to understand that this meant I had a leak in the roof, because I thought it might somehow be a plumbing issue (it was a leak down the bathroom's exhaust vent pipe). The plumber said roofer. I found Manny because I was looking for someone to repair my front porch steps, and given that he was also a roofer, I asked him to give his opinion on what I hoped was a minor issue that could just be repaired, but it turns out that it needed a whole new roof, because the flashing around the pipe was bad, and with further inspection, turned out to be missing shingles, on top of THREE layers of roofing that they'd just kept putting more on. Manny made it easy to coordinate with the insurance company, and what a relief that they agreed to pay for the majority of the roof (but not the tower, which was actually the portion that was in the worst condition, but it wasn't storm damaged, just old). But his help in coordinating made it possible to get it all done, including repairing my front steps, because the cost would have been overwhelming without the insurance part of the equation. The workers were all so kind and helpful, particularly in maneuvering in the tight spaces that is my yard/driveway to get the trash to the curb on trash day around the dumpster in the driveway. Thankfully this work was completed in the winter so no worries about crushing blooms in my front garden, but I also appreciated how they put down tarps over all the plants to protect them, used nets to slide debris into the dumpster, and came back around to clean up after--including using a magnet to catch stray nails. I did unfortunately lose a blueberry bush and I'm a little worried about my blackberry canes, but overall they did their best and while I'd have preferred leaving my leaf mulch down, there's no way to distinguish between the leaf mulch and trash, so you shrug and deal with it. I'm sure the perennials will be fine come spring. As you can see from the pictures, my 1886 Victorian has quite a complicated roofline, and they were able to preserve the profile of the roof, put everything back where it ought to go, and then they'll be coming back in a couple of weeks to patch up the interior places where I originally realized there was damage.
