I had roof damage after a major wind storm in March of 2018. This caused water to leak into my attic and down into the second floor of my Multi-Family. Originally the insurance company claimed that only half of the roof needed to be replaced, but Chris identified and explained why the damage had been more severe than originally thought. That kind of attention to detail and consultative service is what drew me to work with Millstream and Chris in the first place. In very short order, he had a team at the house and in a single day had completed work. It was so well done that I used them to install gutters on top of the roof work, which was equally as flawless. Things that stood out to me: - Service was outstanding - taking time to explain the why and how behind the what they were going to do. - Proactive and anticipatory consulting that made the job painless for me - Easy to work with - I could communicate with him via a variety of channels (email, phone, text) which made the job easier to manage. Updated (2/1/2020) I increased my rating to four stars. Nick Ortiz who is the General Manager at Millstream contacted me after reading my original review from December 2019. He offered to pay for the damages caused to my Gutter Helmet. This was replaced on 1/29/20 at the cost of $300. I am impressed by the customer service to handle this in a timely manner. I will now recommend Millstream to others for roofing projects, but just be aware that they might use subcontractors. I hope the company they use will learn from their past mistakes. read more

BEWARE: They replaced my roof, took my gutter guards, never put them back, and left without telling me they took them. Fast forward to the Fall season, I see leaves sticking out of my gutters, I checked my gutters and gutter guards were gone. Contacted Millstream, they came and put up mess gutter guards on the house, I asked it they could also do my garage, (I never had gutter guards on the garage) they told me it would cost $500, they tech, Troy, came and did the work, he told me he ran out of pieces and I would need a half a box, I told him if I am paying for an entire box, to leave the remainder at my house. I just go the bill for $500, for a full box! When I called the office, Paula told me they gave him the 13 pieces he needed, so I asked why I was charged $500 for a full box, she had no answer. Lansing carries these mesh Gutter Guards, $350 per box. Also, when you get a new roof, the roofer is supposed to leave remaining roof shingles with you, Millstream did not do that either. just had Millsteam replace 2 Skylights and roof. they did a phenomenal job! you wouldn't even have known they were here after the cleanup. very professional staff. Not only is Chris personable and professional, but his crew came out and did my entire roof in a day and it's an extremely large roof :-) and they're clean up was awesome. They even moved my potted plants away and back in place before they left. Millstream Construction owned by Chris Gonsalves is an amazing, professional organization. We hired Chris recently to conduct a roof inspection of a home we were buying in the Hartford area. He was awesome! He arrived early and got down to business, inspecting the roof as well as all of the flashings, skylights, and chimneys in the home. He climbed out on the roof as well as using a drone to conduct a full, thorough inspection. He made a ton of pictures and told us exactly what he thought and which he thought should be the priorities. Most awful company. They installed a new flat roof that that had a small leak where an adjacent sloped roof leaked. Millstream claimed only a new flat roof would resolve issue. The old flat roof had no leaks. The Millstream new flat roof has been leaking consistently since completion. They failed to properly supervise employees and refuse to make repairs. They blame the world but bury their heads to reality. The aesthetics of the job resembles something the 3 Stooges would have done. A mere sampling of photos attached. I reached out to this company to replace a roof. The customer service wasn't good. I was going to go with them and spoke with the sales manager Dave, who is a lot like a used car salesman, fast talking and by a script. I merely asked them if I could see some shingle samples to choose a color, Dave told me that I would have to have a contract with them before he could show me anything. This is absolutely ludicrous. NO OTHER roofer said this to me. I called to speak with the owner, and they said he would call me back shortly. I never heard a thing. The point that I am making is, if this company can be so rude and unprofessional before you sign a contract. just imagine what they would be like if you had issues with the roof. I have heard this happening to other people that went to them and didn't use them I think that many of their reviews are not real because they treated me very unprofessional and terrible business, I was ready to give them a check for the job and they treated me so poorly I went to another company that is much better than them. Was doing some construction in one of the bedrooms in my house when I noticed a split tape joint in the ceiling drywall and some water staining. I called Millstream and was greeted very nicely from the receptionist. The technician Craig came by the next day or so and took a look. While he could not find anything immediately, he did instruct that I need to pull down some drywall to get a better look from the inside. One this had been done, I sent pictures of what I had discovered and Craig came back and fixed the issue. He also noticed an unrelated issue with my chimney. Craig and Millstream where very helpful and I would recommend them to anyone I know and use them again if I have any issues. read more

This company did an excellent job on my roof. I bought a special package through Angie's list and paid extra since I needed a rubber roof for a part that was not slanted enough for a regular roof. Even though the estimate I originally got when Millstream came out to give a quote was more than the Angie's List deal (--- and I had forgotten initially that they were coming out because of the Angie's deal), they stuck with the Angie's List package price when I realized that was the source of how I started talking to them. (I was talking with many contractors so didn't mention the Angie's List deal when they first came out.) I was happy with the quality and professionalism. I have had the pleasure of doing business with the Millstream Construction team. Chris Gonsalves, the owner and expert helped me every step of the way. I had a bad roof that was installed by some locals that claimed to be roofers. For the past 2 years it leaked from faulty workmanship and together, we uncovered the many problems, figured what needed to be done (replace the shingles, underlayment, etc..) and a couple months ago, Chris and his team took care of the problems and now, I have a new roof with a "Platinum Warranty". It really does matter who you hire to work on your house. I am a perfectionist and I am very aware of unscrupulous workers. Chris showed me pictures of his historic house and the work he has done there. He does awesome work and he is smart, hard working and caring.
