"It's just apartment house sense It's like apartment house…read morerents Remember: one man's ceiling Is another man's floor" (Paul Simon) Things started off so well With Cook & Kozlak. We wanted to replace the bedroom carpet and thought we'd deal with a local company instead of a big box store. The showroom at Cook & Kozlak had a big selection of carpet styles and quality. Christine walked us through some selections in the color family we liked, and gave is a few sample boards to take home and ponder on. After we selected the carpet, Sam came out to measure up the room and prepare the final estimate. He was very personable and professional. A few days later we received a phone call to schedule the installation and we agreed to Monday at 9:00. That never happened. I called at 9:30, and was told the crew was running late and they would be here between 10:00 and 10:30. When the crew did arrive, there was no explanatiion and no apology - so I'm not sure they knew we were promised 9:00? Had I not called at 9:30, I doubt we would have learned of the new time until they rang the door bell. The install went fairly smooth, but there were a few minor issues. The most serious was that I didn't like the way the carpet rubbed against the closet bypass doors. That wasn't met with much of a response except for "you may have to shave down the door".

I found them when I was looking for gutter installation work and was so impressed that I had them replace the entire roof on my house sized barn (~2100 sq ft) with Owens Corning along with significant rehabilitation work to the substrate. It seems all too rare these days that you find a contractor that is reliable, competent and takes real pride in their work but that's exactly what you're getting here. These are skilled and honest professionals who do excellent work and stand behind both the process and the finished product. I have no doubt that we will work together again and I hope they know how much I appreciate the care that they've taken with my unique and often complicated property!

I figured I would do a spring clean-up at a later date. Mike started sending me pictures (as he always does which I absolutely love especially since I can't always be there to see the work) and the before and the afters were shocking. I didn't just get a trash clean-up I got a spring clean-up; there were mounds of leaves everywhere, there was piles of debris outside the fenced in area, the was junk that needed to be hauled off. I got final pictures where the leaves were removed between the ramp and the building, no junk outside the fence, the trash barrels were taken to the curb for me and the list goes on and on. When I saw the final pictures I was taken aback; Mike did all this work for the price I was expecting to pay for a quick trash clean-up and this is not a one time experience. Mike and AMI Home Improvements always go above and beyond for me and my residents (I own a property management company). He's made friends with the most difficult of residents and can trouble shoot any problem you have. He's prompt, reliable, courteous and very reasonably priced.
