Came out looked it over, told me 3 squares (300 square feet for the house) and 5 more for the barn. Then I asked how much more for waste, and was told 20%, and then 8-9 became 14 square or 1400 sq feet. I suppose someone with experience and a good eye can estimate this. I'm going to measure it myself, order the materials myself, and do the work myself. This is normally a three man job. I bet with a little preparation and some sawhorses I can do it myself. I never got a bid for the work. Not one of the three bidders. Apparently they don't like to make competitive bids. I never got a written bid. I was not told the job was too small, just that I'd have the bid by the next day. It has been 9 days and nothing. They asked for my email address and telephone number and I provided that through YELP. I was asked if I was going to finance, and I told them I'd pay cash. You get the idea, they want big jobs so they can overcharge--a lot. I also asked when they could start and was told the following week. Well I guess not because that has passed. I would not recommend these people. Chose a local builder, someone you know, who will be honest with you, and say what they mean, and mean what they say. Not this flaky company. BOTTOM LINE. I WON"T USE YELP FOR THIS SORT OF THING AGAIN. ALL THREE BIDDERS WASTED MY TIME. read more
