KlausLarsen Roofing began work on a neighbors roof in Suffield, CT May 28, 2026 without pulling a permit. The homeowner is well known as a bigot. I noticed workers stripping the roof into my backyard without permission. When I went out to speak to the workers, none spoke English. Site manager Mark Libiszewski came over and I explained he didn't ask permission and does not have permission to strip the haters roof onto our property. The bigot called police. That is when it was discovered no roofing permit had been pulled. Site manager blamed it on a 3rd party error. Police explained [on video + audio] work came to a halt & once a permit is pulled work will resume within 10 to 14 days. The site manager will come to my house prior to work starting and touch base. No stripping will be done on our property but workers will come over to pickup errant debris and nail sweep with a magnet. Five days later, June 2, I noticed tarps, plywood, and workers stripping the neighbors roof into our yard. When I walked over to confront the same site manager the tarps were coming down as the roof was speed stripped by the hard-working crew. I reiterated to Mark he did not have permission to strip the bigots roof onto our property and if he needed that kind of access we should be compensated for it. Mark said he had no authority to compensate and they always go onto other peoples property when needed. Mark also said Suffield Police said we gave permission and insinuated I was calling police a liar. I subsequently called KlausLarsen office and spoke to Cora, Production Department, who told me I need to speak to Joanie Dunstan Mgr. Two days later I connected with Joanie who had to speak to someone else and then would call my son who owns the property. Needless to say my son is still waiting for a call. In summary, KlausLarsen did not pull a proper permit initially, feels entitled to send equipment & crew onto other peoples property without permission even when told not to. We inadvertently helped a bigot get his roof done by a crew of foreign hard workers he despises and our yard was the receptacle for the bigots roof trash. I cannot speak to pricing or quality of work but I can speak to the unprofessional and disrespectful manner in which we were treated. read more

11/30 update: okay, taking a star off because we've had nothing but problems with our gutters and standing water. I had a gutter guy with experience here to fix the mess they left. He confirmed, with pics, the cheap materials used and the sub-par way the gutters were installed. His words? "I don't get it. It's like a child did these." Sigh. Of course. read more

Had my roof done and 2 days after job was completed woke up to flat tire and a roofing nail in my truck tire, 2 months later I am still finding nails around the perimeter of my house and yard, I reached out to Klaus production manager and was told send screenshots of tire and price to replace which I did but never received reimbursement or any replies back since, job was done in middle of October and here it is January 1st, I will never use or recommend them again. read more

Then when we expressed that we were not interested and just wanted a gutter cleaning, they quoted us 2-3 times what another reputable company in the area quoted. After job was completed a storm came through with very high winds. Damage was done to my gutters that were installed. Been calling office to have someone followup. To my surprise a key representative was not at company anymore. I've been directed to the vice president. I leave messages everyday and my messages have not been answered. Called them to get an estimate as our neighbors used them. A sales person--admittedly a very nice man--came out and while I guess I appreciated the nearly two hour info session as I did learn some knowledge (and am thankful for the professionalism of the presentation), I was livid at the quote we were given. It was one of those quotes you give when u don't want to take the job (6K+ above the nearest other quote- I got four and all in quick succession so u can't say Covid inflated the costs). Overall I learned, but I felt like my time (and theirs) was wasted since they were never going to do the job; I'd rather have had them say "no thanks, we don't do your neighborhood now". Third roof we've had done in 46 years on this house and by far this company was the most professional. Pricewise right in the middle of the estimates we actually received...some companies never followed through. They promised a one day strip and installation and they did it! Both the salesman and the project manager ..Diego.. we're informative, friendly and responsive everytime we had a question or we contacted them. They were able to find the color tiles we wanted even though there was a shortage and other contrators said it wasn't possible. They also spent time ..and a few visits...to make sure a needed custom replacement skylight was perfect. Diego took multiple pictures of the work progress and showed us every step taken. With a fifty year warranty on tiles and labor they make sure everything is done to the highest standard. Love the fact the company has a training facility for new workers...wonderful opportunity for interested people to learn a trade. Diego has been working with the same crew most of this Covid year and employee retention is a sign of a good company. Can't say enough about this positive experience. read more

AWFUL customer service and communication. We paid in full for a new roof, which was completed within days of us signing a contract. Since then, we have had numerous clean up related issues and now that our money has been paid, we can't seem to get timely responses. Work done on 2/5, no tarp put down to protect patio, leaving tarry stains. Promised to power wash, hasn't happened. Hundreds of nails left behind, took over 6 weeks for them to clean up. Also cracked siding, greasy hand prints, cleaned up only after complaints made. Also, inexplicable large orange staining on roof, which makes our $18k roof look worse than it did to begin with. All can be fixed, but the customer service and communication is quite literally the worst I have experienced. Prepare to dedicate a lot of time to chasing down solutions if you use them! I thought I reviewed before, but it looks like I forgot to. Anyway, my husband & I highly recommend Klaus Larsen. During a wind & rain storm, the gutter in the back side of our house pulled out & twisted, hanging down. We were afraid that it might hit a window if another heavy wind came about and knew that it was beyond repair. We called a few roofing companies to come out to give us estimates. The other companies either never called us back or schedule a date and time to come out but never showed up! From the moment I called Klaus Larsen Roofing, everyone was very responsive and great to work with. The sales rep called 15 minutes prior to our set appointment to say that he was on his way. The office sends you a photo of the sales rep, so you know who to expect at the door! He was very knowledgeable, answered all our questions & was not high pressure at all. On the day that our gutter replacement was scheduled, there was a lot of snow on the ground, and it was only 19 degrees outside. I called the company & asked if they wanted to reschedule, because it was so cold out & I didn't want the workers to freeze. I was told that they'd be fine & they would go ahead in the freezing cold and do the job as promised. Klaus Larsen himself and another installer came out on time & replaced our gutters & downspout. They thoroughly cleaned up everything. Great company & great job! Pricing was good too. Not the cheapest, but you do get what you pay for. I highly recommend them! read more

The project manager was great and presented the materials for a new roof and new gutters and the installation process very well. At this point, they answered all our questions and returned calls quickly. We wanted to get this done before winter as it was fast approaching (Oct 2020) and we did not trust the old gutters going through the winter. The roofing installation date in Dec arrived. They removed the old roof and installed the new roof in one day. During which the slate front door steps were damaged when some tools fell off the roof. They cleaned the majority of debris but we found over 300 nails during the following weeks/months. They got the balance that night after they finished. We also gave them a deposit for the gutters. The problems started happening a few days later. Klaus was backed up and couldn't install gutters anytime soon and we were never informed of the delays. After a large winter storm, the old gutters fell off in the rear of the house because of ice buildup. We reached out to Klaus to get an update on the new gutters. No reply and they never returned any calls. At this point, we were frustrated and cancelled the gutters and asked for a refund. We left many messages and never got any return calls or any money. Then the town called a few weeks later and told us that the work permit was never picked up and the town inspector never signed off confirming ice shield was properly installed. We reached out back and forth to the town and Klaus roofing to sort and resolve this issue. Klaus never returned any calls for months until my wife threatened a lawsuit. Then they finally released a check for the deposit, repairing the steps, and the nails found for only 100 ($1 per nail up to 100). Klaus reached out to the inspector once and told him that they refuse to rip up the new roof to show ice shield proper installation (according to what the inspector told us.) After several failed phone calls to Klaus, my wife and I resorted speaking with the inspector on our own to see if we could work this out without Klaus' involvement. He agreed and after an onsite inspection and because the gutters fell off, he was able to see the ice shield along with the installation videos/pictures I had and signed off on it. He also told us were to pickup the notarized work permit. My wife gave Klaus a call and left a message to inform them that we were able to solve the inspector and work permit issues on our own without their help. And they did not even have the common curtesy to call back to even say thank you. We are glad we never did the gutter project with them after all these headaches and time lost and wasted gas. Excellent company! You can feel very confident about choosing Klaus Larsen for your new roof! The home I live in is 22 years old and needed a new roof! I contacted several companies for estimates. I was particularly impressed with Klaus Larsen from my first phone call all the way to the finished product! On the phone, I was greeted by a polite and professional woman who took my information and scheduled an appointment for the following Monday at 9:00am. At exactly 9:00am Steve from Klaus Larsen drove up my driveway in a Klaus Larsen mini van equipped with a full functioning office inside! Steve and I walked around the house together and then he inspected the attic for leaks. He went back out to the driveway, worked in his office and with in 10 minutes had an estimate for me. His estimate was much less than two other contractors had given me for the same work. He also explained that their products come from Owens Corning and they are backed by a 50 year warranty! The price and the warranty are impressive but the professional way they do business was the deciding factor for me! They have an excellent system in place and they follow it! Shortly after I signed the agreement I received a personal video email from the owner, Klaus Larsen, thanking me for hiring his company. I thought that was really nice! The night before the roof was going to be replaced a large dumpster was dropped off in my yard. The following morning at 7:00 the crew arrived ready to work! They started by hanging large tarps to cover the house so that when the shingles are being torn off the house would not be damaged. Next, all of the workers were on the roof taking all of the old shingles off. They also replaced three pieces of plywood that had rotted over the years. The crew never took a break! They worked from 7:00am until 8:00pm! They brought all of their own supplies and never asked me for anything. They were all extremely polite and extremely diligent! When the roof was finished the crew stayed another 90 minutes cleaning my yard! They went behind bushes and trees making sure they had picked up every last shingle and nail! The foreman even went back up on my roof to adjust the satellite dish! He stayed there until it was perfect! The day after the roof was finished Klaus himself came out to my house! He walked around the property and inspected all of the work his company had done! He asked if I had any questions or concerns, which I did not. I am so pleased with my new roof! I called for an estimate, got an immediate response and set up an appointment. I chose them because they could do roofing, gutters, fascias, the whole package, so as a homeowner I would not have to coordinate multiple subs. It has now been two weeks since the site visit and no estimate received, despite multiple emails and voice messages. USELESS !! read more

Excellent Roofers they went above and beyond replacing our roof and they always answered everytime I called with a question. Workers were very kind and professional. We are ver happy we called Klaus Larson! I reccomend did them to a friend of mine she used them and was very satisfied as well. I hired Klaus Larsen when I had a leak in my attic. I thought they had a fair price and we're knowledgable. When they came to do the repair, they told me the chimney needed to be replaced and they canceled the job, refunding me most of my deposit. After my chimney was repaired I called them repeatedly to fix a small portion of the roof and flashing. They told me they would send someone and never did. I called multiple times. I felt like that abdoned with exposed roof. I would not recommend this company. read more

I would recommend Klaus Larsen highly for any roofing needs. Over the past few years, they have done repairs, removed leaky skylights, added heat cables to our roof and replaced the roof on our shed. Their employees are courteous, reliable and good at what they do. And they clean up after themselves - you'd never even know they were there (except the roof is new)!
