Project was less expensive than other quotes I received, however final product was not was expected either. They were clean and professional, but communication was very poor. Overall I give it a B- grade. They completed the job in the time they stated, but I will have to make changes as it did not turn out exactly as I had anticipated. read more

They replaced both my lower and upper porches on my 1928 house. The prices were the best around. Honestly I feel like I got a real bargain considering the beautiful work they did. We recently had our wooden parquet deck boards, railings and stairway replaced with Timbertech material. It was a bigger job than just laying down new flooring due to the way the floor joists were originally. They needed to drop down the original joists and add new joists. We had few contractors that were not sure how the job should be done and so were not interested. When John from For U Builders came, he looked at the deck and knew right away what needed to be done. The men that did the actual work we great. Shamar, the crew supervisor was always ready to answer any of our questions. John came out during the process to check on the progression. The crew never left our property messy at the end of the day. When everything was completed, the workers cleaned the floors and railings completely. We were very impressed by everyone we dealt with and would definitely recommend them to anyone needing work done. read more

Unethical, Crooks!! i hired them to do 2 projects and after not completing and ruining my property, - leaving filthy and badly done Moulding, floors, electrical- I cancelled the second contract to remodel deck and John Williams, owner, refused to refund $2304 deposit even thou there was no cancellation clause stated in the hand written contract. read more

They did our Roof and 25 windows and we could not be happier with them. They used tarps everywhere and protected our home and picked up all the debris. Brandon and everyone in the office were so helpful and they scheduled the work around our schedules which was very nice of them. John Williams the owner check in on us through out our job to make sure everything was going right. His workers are all excellent from the roofing crew to the two gentlemen who installed all of our windows and did a lovely job with our trim work. Very Happy!!!! Thank you!!! If you want DIS-ingenuous, DIS-respectful, DIS-organized and DIS-gusting.. give the a call. Be sure to ask for Andrew and ONLY Andrew. The rest of the group are useless from what I can see. Partial story below. Too much to put here. I am not a lunatic--but I was a fool to call them again. Hired once...had a not great experience. Guys did trim crazy wrong--but redid it. Also installed sheetrock under a window. Contract said sheetrocking under window--but didn't include tape. Was told permitting would be done by John..firemarshal showed up. They hadn't applied for permit. Negotiated and did taping myself in order to avoid credit card fees because they wouldn't accept my Chase mailed payment in lieu of a check. Job was acceptable. No great shakes. Live in the boondocks--hard to find carpenters. Called again-- Negotiated deal. Signed contract. Sent initial down payment. Bank records said they received check. They claimed they had not--this delayed start. Brandon called to tell me they were starting the next day and ONE guy would be coming. Where is the dumpster? HUH? Is the Electrician arriving too? He needs to disconnect before the carpenter can start. HUH? Ummmm. We will reschedule. Two weeks later dumpster to be delivered. Brandon says I need to sign for it. Day off from work. Dumpster guy says HUH? You don't have to sign for it. Two days go by...I wait...and wait. Hoping for no snow because dumpster is in my small driveway. Finally, the following Monday I PERSONALLY remove a wall and an entire ceiling and load the dumpster because I can't take it anymore. Carpenter arrives on Thursday. "Ceiling is down?" "Yep, I got sick of waiting, dumpster is full." He starts work and goes over details--very complicated--and he is going to do the electrical work. He works half a day. Brandon calls me and wants full day payment....hahahhahhaha. Agrees to hourly. Carpenter calls sick next day. I get pissed. So they send the three stooges...literally. "Where are the materials" "You were given a list by Brandon and Andrew" "Oh, yeah--I will measure." I give them the same list. He measures anyway and he and his cronies leave for 2 hours. Come back with waaaay too much stuff. Then they start working and use foul language and literally start farting at one another. Then they stand around a hole in the floor trying to figure out how to fix it--arguing. I call John. Who calls them and TELLS THEM I AM COMPLAINING. They start giving me the side eye and talking about how nasty I am (single woman alone in my house). Anyway. They do the wrong work and argue with me when I point out that it is incorrect and that wiring needs to go in where they just installed a wall. on and on and on. Andrew (the only saving grace) came back and it took him a good 1.5 hours to undo the damage. I called John to tell him personally how upset I was over their behavior--and that I felt he needed to know what went on from a customer's perspective. He totall went off on me. Screaming and yelling...I was actually trying to do him a favor. I will save you from more boredom and a continuation of this drama. Removed and installed my guesthouse roof on the day scheduled in 8 hours. Perfect! That they have a dedicated scheduler means you are always kept informed. Brandon was incredibly responsive (including replying to texts and emails at all hours!), John (the owner) was personable, informative, and straight-forward, and the workers (led by Shamar) arrived on time, worked hard, and left the work site tidy and neat every single night when they left. When they placed one set of stairs a little farther to the center than we wanted, we simply said so and they immediately moved them, saying "No problem! We want you to be happy!" Brandon stayed on top of our order and kept us informed. Install was great. Leon tailored the trim to the space so it wasn't a "one size fits all" install. Very much appreciate that - and they were done earlier in the day than we expected. This would be a 5 star review if the time between the initial appointment and the installation hadn't been over 6 weeks. We understand the windows come from PA, and there was the Thanksgiving holiday in there, but that's twice as long as unexpected/were told.
