Ok, lets start with a disclaimer, this is Tysons Corner, so I expect a certain "air" to both clientele and staff in most stores...it is just the area, and sometimes there is a bad vibe along with it. That being said, I have shopped there twice, and while their is an air of sophistication to the staff, It is not a bad vibe at all. I do not dress the scene (think hippy/woodsman with a shaved head and a long beard), but both times the staff were professional, offered to help me pick out what flavors to buy, and the second visit the manager stopped me and explained their whole recycling system, and gave me a pre-addressed (and paid for) bag to ship the empties back, just in case I can't get back to the store. I will return to the shop, and if there are bad vibes I will address them with the staff and update my review. read more

Completely agree with other reviewers who mentioned very poor customer service at this location. My wife and I waited patiently for our turn at the Tyson's Corner flagship location and, when it was our turn, placed our order for ten sleeves of capsules promptly and with a smile. Surly is perhaps the best way to describe the employee's demeanor. We continued to stay pleasant while he continued to treat us throughout the entire transaction as if we had just broken into his home in the middle of the night, woken him up, and demanded he make us coffee. We walked out with a bag of extremely expensive coffee feeling like idiots for patronizing this company. Sure, our experience could be atypical since we only dropped by once and only interacted with one employee, but I believe reviews here would indicate otherwise. Furthermore, the fact that Nespresso does not provide a phone number to directly access this store also speaks to their commitment to customer service. Check the Tysons Corner website, the Nespresso website, or even here on Yelp. The phone number listed for this store is the main Nespresso toll free number. Not very helpful when you would just like to call the store to see if they carry a product before you make the drive and struggle through the mall. In my case this morning, I am attempting to determine if the Tysons location carries the Nespresso-branded descaling solution since my machine stopped working today, demanding I descale it. No worries I thought, I'll just call the Tysons store. No dice...and I have been waiting on hold in the main toll free number's automated system for 15 minutes "waiting for a coffee specialist". In an era when brick and mortar stores are facing intense competition from online retail, one wonders if the entire reason Nespresso created these stores was to emphasize the value of shopping online. But they can save this place. Easily. Keep in mind, the store primarily just sells sleeves of coffee and the "too cool for school" staff just puts those sleeves in a bag and rings you up. Solution - robots. Or perhaps monkeys. Or perhaps robot monkeys. If they do that, I'll give them another shot. read more

This new nesspresso store is great! very clean & attractive. Everything is very organized, and I was able to browse all the machines around the store with ease. Not to mention the customer service was fantastic, I was in with my boyfriend and we both got to sample their new pods from the Vertuoline, *side note* the samples or should I say full cups of coffee, come in their glass mugs and It made the experience just a little more elegant :) and the worker was very informative with all the questions I had. Overall, I had a great experience and got a couple new pod flavors to try out! read more

Short answer: I simply refuse to be around people that treat me less than human. Awful customer service. Better off buying refills online. Never coming here again. Seems like the staff is judgemental. Felt very uncomfortable being around them. Longer answer: Granted, I must've looked like a lost puppy and very confused. As I don't own a Nespresso, I'm purchasing the cups for someone else, I didn't know what to look/ask for. The male rep didn't seem too pleased assisting me, neither did his female colleagues. I walked out empty handed. I felt very (for lack of a better word/phrasing) shopping mall "stereotyped". Maybe if I dressed uppity and snazzy like them they would have been a bit more helpful. The coffee etc is great but the service is awful. They need more sales people at the cash registers. Today I waited in a line of four customers for 22 minutes. There are 4 points of sales but I never see more than 2 of them open. You really need better customer service. read more

I used to frequent this store, as a huge Nespresso fan, but the staff has made going in so unpleasant that it's not even worth saving the shipping costs. The employees have been incredibly rude and condescending to us for no reason, which we put up with because we love the product, but the last straw was when an off-duty employee yelled at us--when he saw us in a DIFFERENT STORE. I would recommend avoiding the tysons location at all costs, if you don't want to be harassed by a staff member for not saying hi to him. read more

We just bought a machine and were going to the boutique to try different flavors. Waste of time. The tasting bar was closed and they were only serving one specialty sample. The place was packed with people and the staff wasn't able to keep up. They had things roped off to try to gain some order. What I learned is that there is no reason to ever go back. read more

My mother-in-law has had a Nespresso for years. For Christmas, the in-laws gave me my own. I LOVE IT. I was in DC for w one day conference and took an Uber out to Tysons Corner specifically to visit the store. Richard was amazing. He let me try a few flavors, we talked about the machine and how to take care of it, and I suggested that it would be nice to have a laminated guide next to my carousel. We talked about options and Richard sent me the list via my email before I even made it back to my hotel. I was back in DC a week later and went back out to the store. Another amazing experience. The staff are all very professional and helpful. I love this place. too bad I don't live near here! I will be visiting the Chicago store soon, but I generally order online. I had an absolutely fantastic experience at Nespresso Tysons, all thanks to Lizzie! She was extremely patient while answering a number of questions from this Nespresso virgin. Her knowledge of the machines/coffee was incredible. Not once did I feel pressured into my purchase. Long story short.....things went so well that I am now the proud owner of a Lattissima Pro as well as a Virtuoline. The machines are great and the variety of coffees is incredible. The only thing I would like to see added is more flavors in decaf, but other than that I couldn't be happier! read more

Awful awful AWFUL customer service on three separate occasions. I have two of their very pricey, yet awesome machines and spend a lot of money on the pods for myself and my guests. However, they are always entirely too busy to look up from their computers or conversations with each other to acknowledge their customers. Even just to say, "I'll be right with you". Today I was the ONLY customer in the store and I was still ignored to the point that I just left. Convenient location in the mall so you can pick up your coffee when you're shopping and don't have to wait for your online order to arrive - very convenient to have a physical Nespresso store in the neighborhood! Coffee is good, there is no question about it. Service is often condescending and far from welcoming - unless you are buying 20 sleeves of coffee they seem to be bothered by you :) I think the situation would change if there was another Nespresso store around the corner, but since this is the only one, you're stuck with them if you need your coffee same day. read more

I went here during the holidays, and was not impressed. Maybe the staff was just worn out from all the people, extended hours, etc., the lady we went to, to ask a single question was extremely rude (she only allowed one question before completely dismissing us). I am new to Nespresso. I have used the machines before but I have been intimidated and reluctant to buy one. Upon walking in the store Taleur pleasantly greeted me and offered me samples of some of their products. Taleur did a great job in helping me pick the best machine for my needs. I ended up purchasing a machine and I woke up today extremely content about my purchase. Thank you nespresso tysons and Taleur for the great experience. I went to the Nespresso store this past Saturday with my mother. I already have a Nespresso machine and was busy telling my mother she should buy one. My mother waited forever for a tasting and the woman was very rude to her. When I finally got to the counter to check out (I needed more pods), one of the cashiers asked my mother to "move over" so she could check out someone else. The staff was very pretentious and acted as if they had no time to be bothered with customers. My mom walked out of there without a new Nespresso machine. I think I will just buy my coffee pods online so I don't have to deal with the staff at this store. read more

Being an espresso aficionado I was immediately intrigued at Nespresso's take on European style espresso. I instantly became captivated that such a machine could produce such high quality espresso. I was more than thrilled to be helped by the specialists at Tysons Corner. More so, they were extremely helpful and well educated on the machines and delighted to answer all of my questions. They were patient and even enlightened me on some things I never knew about coffee in general. My experience was very unique in saying that it catered to my needs and was very form fitting with a particular specialist, she was extremely informative and generous with knowledge, she even went out of her way to break down the different varieties of all the coffees. She was very personable and down to earth. This location seems to be very popular, making waiting- to be expected. All of the staff here are very friendly and pleasant, with smiles. The ambience and atmosphere and perfect, if only this location were to have a café! I can't say the same for some of the other customers. I cannot put into words the attitudes of some of the other customers because they had to wait 5 min, I was kind of appalled. I mean, C'mon people. Go spend 5 bucks at Starbucks and complain there! You're only getting a free espresso shot- Albeit, you can head to one of their B-bar cafes and pay well over 6 dollars for the same! Well worth it in my opinion. At this location in particular the people are rude and pretentious. Thankfully, I had quite a few espressos to keep my opinions to myself. Unfortunately, some people aren't so sparing. Overall, my experience at Nespresso, Tysons corner was superb. I will definitely be back soon to get more coffee and to experience all the wonderful personalities that makeup this location. In a day and age where the standards of service have deteriorated I was pleasantly surprised at the five star service I received from one of the sales associates, Susan. I had several questions about the functionality of my new machine in which she walked me through step by step. Subsequently, she provided additional information about my machine which has since enhanced my Nespresso experience. Her friendliness, customer service, and attention to detail is to be commended. So, I have been a Nespresso customer for about 11 years and have LOVED their coffee. I have had two of the "original" machines and ran them both into the ground. One of my favorite things was the Decaffeinato Intenso decaf capsules which to me were even better than the regular coffee. When my last machine broke, i decided to try the new Virtuoline style which meant getting different capsules. I thought the Decaf Intenso espresso would taste the same and purchased 10 sleeves of it. Alas it is really not good, but since I need to mostly drink decaf I have been buying it anyway. On my last trip to the store in Tysons, I bought two sleeves of the regular coffee decaf and low and behold it's awesome! I have now have six sleeves of the decaf espresso I will not use and because it's been a bit longer than 14 days, I cannot exchange them. Watch out for this exchange policy when you are trying out flavors. Nespresso does not stand behind it's products or care if you like them or not apparently. The Capsules are expensive and you will be stuck if you don't like something. Wish this company were more responsive to good customers who are loyal and paying a lot for an expensive product. If the shelf life is an issue, then put an expiration date on the sleeve and work around that. read more

To the point where I had to speak to the manager. Only reason. I give it two stars is because the manager was so amazing and apologetic. I returned to Nespresso to exchange and unopened sleeve of coffee I didn't love but had bought multiples of. Limited time products are priced a little higher than regular products and they had to call the manager to do an even exchange. He was very pleasant and professional. Everyone in the store that day was great it was a weekday and there was just a handful of customers. I still love Nespresso and I get you can have an off day but while recently budgeting for a career change I decide to box up my Nespresso and take out my good old Moka and coffee pot and go back to my roots. Having that one bad experience made this decision that much easier to make. I still enjoy my 3-5 cups of coffee a day addiction but I'm also saving a lot of money. read more

If I could give no stars, I would. I drove all the way to this location to buy the Cuba capsules. I went up to the tasting bar, and they said they were not tasting the Cuba capsules, but had the new holiday collection. We tried them all and loved them. When we went up to purchase, the lady in front of us bought 12 sleeves of the holiday capsules. We were up next, and the sales guy said that he wouldn't sell the holiday capsules to us because it crashed the system. He offered no alternative even though he JUST sold exactly what they had just marketed to us. Absolutely ridiculous. I'd rather pay the shipping fee any day than return to this extremely unprofessional location. read more

This review is two fold. As for the Nespresso products, I am very pleased. The coffees are delicious and the machines easy to use and clean. For the Tyson's store. Unlike some of the reviews posted below, I have never felt mistreated. While the layout can be confusing when they are busy, as to get to the tasting bar one must pass by or through the line to the register, the staff are incredibly thoughtful and helpful. For the most part everyone who works there is extremely knowledgeable in both the machines and the coffee products themselves, and have helped me try new flavors based on my preferences. If someone is new or not as confident in their understanding of the products they have always been quick to find me someone more experienced to help me. Out of all the workers 3 have always stood above the rest. Richard is very helpful and patient, and is very meticulous in his explanations of the machines and the differences between coffees. Brandon is upbeat, and also wonderful at explaining machines and their upkeep. Susan is great when you're in a rush, as she is quick and thorough. While the store seems a tad understaffed, I have yet to experience any mistreatment or rudeness. If the worst thing I have to say about a store is I need to be patient when seeking assistance, that shows the store truly cares about its clients and aims to give them the best service possible. read more

First- Nespresso has changed coffee for me. I used to be an avid tea drinker because coffee always seemed so watery and bitter. After going to Nespresso and experiencing the smooth, exquisite way it tastes, and seeing the sheer number of different kinds of coffee I have traded my English Breakfast in for espresso. So, if you want amazing coffee, enter the store. Second- everyone who works at this store is very professional and helpful. Richard has often listened to my questions and offered suggestions. He may have gotten me hooked on Peru, due to his enthusiasm for the product. Lizzie is the girl to go to when you have a question on machines. Without missing a beat she always anticipates my questions without me having to ask them and explains some of the machine's intricacies in laymen's terms. Brandon is very forthcoming, often greeting me as I enter the store, making my wife and I feel very welcome. Susan is very knowledgeable, yet communicates in a very succinct way, so I never feel my time is wasted. Alex is very responsive to questions, very friendly (I'd go so far as to say jovial), and is a wonderful leader to the boutique's staff. My wife and I frequent the store and between the two of us have never had a bad experience. If you want to go in and try espresso, be welcomed cordially, and treated with respect, enter Nespresso at Tysons. You won't be disappointed. read more

Great place to enjoy a free cup of coffee, as long as it's not the weekend! It gets so crowded I almost don't have any elbow room. With that being said, I can see how the staff would get overwhelmed with the amount of people walking in/out to do nothing but have a free cup of coffee and then turn around and walk out. If your really looking to get some education on the company stop by during the week and you'll find the staff is more then eager to get you everything you need with time on there side. A lot of professionalism comes out of the hard workers for all these crazy coffee junkies! They have a tasting bar which is a great place to learn about the coffee, a glorious machine area that I can get a break down on the machines and of course they walked me right through the accessory area just to show me how I could complete my Nespresso collection. The whole experience was awesome! And now I have a VertuoLine machine of my own at home that my roommates and I love. Seriously great product! read more
