(The one I had was purchased with credit and I was already paying monthly for it)! I took it into Mad Macs with no hope that anything could be done. Since it was still under warranty, the man who helped me said that he could replace the motherboard and other fried parts for me, and that act of kindness saved my life. I still think about it every now and again, which is why I'm leaving this review. Because of his kindness, I was able to do all my schoolwork in the coming years, and I did not have to go into more debt by replacing it. Mad Macs repair man from 25 years ago... you're a real one.

Either way, I am satisfied and my down time is kept to a minimum. I think that when people write reviews on yelp they should try and look at the big picture. If you go to most computer shops, their only goal is to sell you more stuff. These guys will actually fix your stuff and they don't judge you and say things like "why are you still using that? You need to upgrade". I think they do a fair job for a fair price and I have never gotten the impression that they were "out to screw me". I would give them 5 stars but their shop is kind of rundown. They could use a more professional storefront, but that is the only negative thing I can say. Keep up the good work guys!

My needs are unique, I need a fast, graphically intense computer that can also handle Microsoft spreadsheets, billing, massive downloads. My needs are hybrid- and Andrew realizes that a "one size fit's all" is not going to do what I need. Even more impressive- beyond his technological skills, Andrew is a really nice person. I have been in his store and watched as customers, neighbors, senior citizens, have come in with "locked up" laptops. They clicked on "something" and now have the blinking virus screen. He just smiles, opens up their computer and has miraculously fixed a few right in front of me. He knows their names. He makes them comfortable. There have been great employees at BCS and not-so-great ones, but I've always found service and pricing to be fair. Since Vermont does not have an Apple store or a Genius Bar, this is as close as we get! I was shocked to see negative reviews here, it really suggests a need for customer service training. Kindness and helpfulness go a long way to retaining customers. Patrick Brown himself is a very helpful guy, courteous, patient, and a straight-talker. I have bought my last 5 computers from him. On an unrelated note, I updated to Sequoia and the Find tool no longer finds anything. Zip, zilch, nada. This is CRAZY. Also I get a Bookmarks Syncing error message every 10 minutes with a long page of code that means nothing to me. Every day now since Sequoia -- 20 times a day -- It's awful.
