The employee in the shack will weigh your vehicle and you'll go from there. Cost depends on weight. Google says "greens" for materials accepted. This is wrong. I brought a flat trailer with a mixture of metal, yard waste, plastic, leftover turf, tires... the possibilities were pretty much endless. You get to the dump location and there will be plenty of semi trucks in line. Personal vehicles are plucked from line and told to dump. I was in and out in 30 minutes. Since I had a Santee resident pass I wasn't required to weigh on the way out so I can't speak on that process. All the staff was friendly, no issue at all.

The workers, here, are very friendly and they recycle bottles, cans, metals, and e-scrap (i.e. computers, television, cell phones). I've only recycled bottles here so I don't really know how the process for e-scrap or metal goes. However, they do make everything very simple and convenient. (For the bottles, I recommend separating them from glass, plastics, and aluminum). They are open everyday from 8-5 pm. And, if you've never recycle before, this is the place to start. You can even donate the money you earn to a local charity of your choice. I definitely like this place and they definitely have great graphic design/typography. Directions (from their site): Exit I-8 at Mission Gorge/Fairmount Ave. heading north; left onto Fairmount Ave., left into the second driveway of The Home Depot's parking lot, we're six doors in on the right (next to Sprint).

We still…read morehad a few light bulbs left so I called Lights Out and learned that for half the price they would come to our shop and pick up the lights. Lesson learned for us! We didn't have many light bulbs so we decided to just drop them off ourselves. Right away I was greeted and was helped. I didn't have to lift a finger. If you are looking for a place to recycle I would definitely give Lights Out a try.
