Stopped in late morning on a Tuesday to turn in some recyclables and it was pretty busy. Lots of space for vehicles to come in and park. Super helpful they have plenty of staff around to help guide vehicles in and make sure there are plenty of bins available for sorting. There was a bit of a line but they processed through everyone fairly quickly, and a quick transaction to receive payment. Would def consider coming again. read more

I've been here about three times and only had one good experience out of the three. The first time I came in, they honored the price they quoted over the phone and helped me quickly and pleasantly. last two times I feel like I've gotten the runaround from the guys working there and they were quoting me crackhead prices for clean brass or hoping i would accept a very low shitty offer for what i brought in. I was quoted $2.75 a pound for clean brass and when I came in yesterday. When I got there they said it was contaminated and offered me a dollar per pound instead of what they said over the phone. The guy also said if i wanted to remove a ton of screws from what i brought in he said he would do as much as $2.00 a lb which again isnt what i was quoted on the phone that morning and felt scammy. Just went down the street to another business and they honored their price without any of the bullshitting that was going on over at CMS. read more

Yesterday was my first visit to the yard and I had a full load. It was so large I had to come by a second time in the same day. As I was sorting my recycles in the full sun of the day during my first visit, in the parking lot, it was very apparent to the employees I was EXTREMELY slow. I am a disabled senior. I was the only customer parked in the lot on the south side of the weigh station building. After receiving FOUR separate greetings (telling each of them I am a new customer) only ONE offered to help. His name was ROSSTIN. Huge shout out to him! I am writing a review today only because he went the extra mile not only helping me the first visit but also the second visit too. He was very professional and courteous! Can you clone ROSSTIN? :-) The others seem to lack enthusiasm to help a new customer! I know it's hot but the customers are hot too! If it wasn't for ROSSTIN I would be going back to Skyline where I found the team to be much more helpful to me! Had to edit my review to 2 stars due to the lack of employee assistance. read more

This was my first time visiting. I had no idea what I was doing, all the way down to parking. I must have stuck out from the other customers. A representative quickly directed me to a parking spot along a wall, then waited for me to exit my car and pointed out the carts to assist bringing everything to the scales. I do my own maintenance on my vehicles and had some used brake rotors and struts to turn in. Usually I throw everything in my recycling/trash, but this time I thought I'd see what I could get back if I dropped them off at a recycling center. Steel isn't worth as much as other items, but it was a good experience. Parking is tight. If you come here when they have a lot of people dropping off, do what you can to be quick as a courtesy to others. The guys at the scale where nice, so was the lady at the cash office. 5 stars for an easy experience and the help/direction. read more

Today I visited CMS Recycling for the first time. I had what turned out to be 186 pounds of steel, from a defunct set of exercise equipment. Everyone was friendly. They were less picky about purity than I expected. (Some pieces of metal were covered with rubber, and I had separated these, but they just put them back in the main pile.) The process was a bit slow, but not bad. I would recommend CMS Recycling. One way they could improve would be to provide better guidance for newcomers. When I turned into the driveway, an attendent directed me to park in a certain location. I parked my vehicle there, got out, and waited. And waited, and waited. Finally I decided to ask someone what I was supposed to do. I got only a semi-intelligible response, but after a bit more time, a man with a cart approached me, and we loaded all the metal onto his cart. They weighed it, then gave me a piece of paper to take to the office. At the office, I got $11. So take things here to keep the landfill from filling so fast and to reduce the amount of mining that has to be done. You won't get rich, but you will have made the planet a better place. read more

I love this spot. We come across a ton of scrap metel. Always a good payday. This is the nicest and most efficient place I've been. There employees are respectful and look like there always grinding to move the line a little faster. I've been to some other yards that treat you like a criminal if you have copper until you present your Contracting lience. Also I've felt other yards take advantage of people. I've had to have Lee's in vista weigh out my material twice as one time they were 85 pounds off. You shouldn't have to weigh the material before you take it In fear that your gonna get taken. There i cant even tell who works there or who dosen't because it's a flip of a coin if there employees decided to wear there uniforms that day. The Cms guys are always dressed proper and are super helpful. A few times they helped me get my material out of my truck. I hear they are expending there CRV building so it's probably gonna get even more efficient. Don't waste your time anywhere else. This is the spot to go trust me. Thanks CMS read more

Know the metals you are recycling. Like all recycling places they have this word called contaminated. Contaminated metals is when you have mix metals, with this you get half of what the value of the recycling. So before you go, make sure you do your best to separate your metals and this also means at this recycling center. If you don't, you will only get half the value. Once again, in life, be vigil know what your recycling and try if you'd like to separate your metals accordingly, including when you go to their facility. Parking is a bit tight but the people were friendly and very helpful. read more

All of the rePlants hace closed probably creating much more business to these mom and pop shops. This was my second time here. The first time it was a weekday around 2-3 pm and there were only a couple people and nearly no line. It went very fast last time. Today was Saturday at 1:30pm. It was extremely busy, however Daniel did a wonderful job at directing traffic. He was extremely helpful and nice. It was a good process and the line moved quickly. I live in valley center and the local recycling center near me had horrible reviews so when I looked up the reviews on this location they were great so I had to come see for myself and I was beyond pleased with my experience as soon as I pulled up the bins were out and ready for use , the staff were out and ready to assist if needed ( it helps if your recycled buyback material is already separated i.e plastic ( caps off ) , cans , bottles ) so you can have a smooth transition in and out . We were referred to CMS from another company that told us CMS takes stainless steel refrigerator doors and that's where they take them for $. I called and talked to Denise and she verified that they recycle and pay for stainless steel doors. Doors only, not the refrigerator. Well, we took our Kitchenaid Stainless Steel French door refrigerator doors in today and the workers said because a magnet stuck to them they were not stainless and he got his manager to agree. CMS paid us $2.56 for our three heavy doors. So, we feel cheated. We spent more on gas than what we received. So all these years, I've been cleaning my expensive refrigerator with stainless steel cleaner only to find out from CMS that my Kitchenaid wasn't stainless. Ummm? read more

The bar for recycling joints is not too high, but I have visited CMS several times now and have never had a bad experience. The place is busy, fairly dirty and noisy...but in an almost good industrial sort of way. The way you think a proper metal recycling yard should be. The rates, in particular for aluminum cans is always competitive, and they always have a $.05 per pound coupon in the penny saver, which they will most often spot you if you forget your coupon. The staff here was also very accommodating and friendly when I visited with my 4year old last time, who was intent on helping as much as she could. read more

I have been brining my aluminum, glass and plastic bottles to recycle at CMS for about 2 years now. Their rates are good for material, but it's the customer service that separates them apart from other places. Always, the employees are friendly and helpful. I came today, 02/24/2018, and wow have they cleaned up the place. It's so clean now! As other reviewers said there is very little parking and you have to wait, but I have never been to a recycling facility that did not have these problems. Overall, this is the best recycling place I have been to and will continue to come here. read more

I'm giving three stars because the guys that work outside are all really awesome. They're friendly they joke around but they get their work done. I am handicapped and one usually come out and helps me. The problem I have is with the girl in the office. First of all I was standing at the door while someone else was at the counter and she rudely screamed at me to get outside. OK OK I must've been standing at five points 5 feet instead of six. Give me a break. But then when I go out there to turn my ticket in, there's no hello anything just sit there and wait for you to hand the ticket, then she throws it back under and barks "print name and sign". I unwrapped a sucker and pulled my mask down a little to put it in my mouth and she quickly snapped at me to put my mask back on. Then at the end. No thank you no have a good day just mean. Now I've been coming here for years and years but I'm sick of this lady's attitude is always the same anybody that's working there is rude and should not be working with people. She's the kind of employee you should stick in the back in a corner not dealing with people. I know this company and most companies don't care but I'm probably gonna find another place to go. The worst experience I had in this place was on Sat/28/17 person that helped was Domingo Garcia. My experience was due to the fact aboout an ID to buy can or plastic I mean come on serius an ID to sell cans, well the issue was that I just asked if that was a policy or requiered by law and he's response was so out of line " if you dont like it there's other places around here you could go to" it left me with no words I know there is bad custumer service but this was outrageous the employee was telling me to go elsewhere. As an owner I wouldn't like to have an employee that said this, well in my case I'm sure I will not ever go back. Honestly this just shows that they have no respect and they don't care for your business its your decision now where you go do business with, but just an advise there is other places around there where you can do business with and they dont ask for ID just to sell your cans. read more
