I have been coming to them for years. The staff are great and very helpful. I went today and was very sad to hear that they no longer take metals for recycling. No appliances, no steel, no random metal. They used to take anything that had metal on it, but no more. Worst place to recycle. Juan up at the front is extremely rude to the point of shouting. They just want to rip you off. I took over 500lbs of sheet metal and a huge industrial sink and because it had no more than 5lbs of plastic (small gaskets and a hose) instead of honoring the 20¢ per lb price they only gave me 10¢ per lb. They didn't say anything until everything was already unloaded and on the scale. Completely unprofessional and unacceptable! Este lugar le gusta robar. I called earlier asking if they can take copper tubes with hazardous material on them. The man on the phone said yes so I spent time driving all the way to their center only to be yelled at by a rude and unhelpful employee demanding me to empty out my contents while I was warning it's not safe and that they should be left sealed in their bags unless they have proper respiratory equipment. Immediately after they told me they won't accept my copper tubes despite getting a verbal "yes" from the person answering the phone. On top of that, they referred me to someone who referred me to them because they would take the tubes. Rude service and waste of time. read more

A 5 star recycling place if there ever was one..!! And I've been to many, let me tell you. All of the employees are super friendly and helpful. There are plenty of containers to use and separate your recycling, and the guys will even bring them to your car for you! Since I only go every 2 or 3 months, I don't mind driving a little out of my way to come here. Actually, it is only about 5 miles from me and right off the freeway so no big deal. I spend more time separating all the different colors of glass bottles than I do getting my $$. They are very efficient here and will have you out in no time at all. I have never had any issues with them, although I'm not filling my bottles with liquids or lead as they do police this and rightly so. This place seems to have less unsavory characters than other recycling businesses. The coolest thing to me (although a little weird) is that they give you a receipt for the amount you sold to them, then you just take step back and turn to your right and there's an ATM machine where you insert your receipt and out comes your cash- then your day just got a little better! read more

Super easy place yo get your recycling done. You do have to sort your items out, but if you plan ahead and separate them before arriving, it can be a quick trip. The staff is very friendly and knowledgeable about the different types of plastic and metal being processed. These guys are super nice, quick, and reliable. Came here around 4 on a hot saturday afternoon and was finished in less than 10 minutes. Granted, I only have cans and bottles from a household of one so I can't say my experience will be the same for most. And for all the cans that fit in my sortera recycling bin, I received $2.60 ($2.50 is usually the average, but the guy on the counter added 10 more cents for the nonrecyclable cans that I brought). He even told me about the hand sanitizer available on the premises. (I didn't ask but maybe, he knew I was a clean freak...lol) Close to the 94 onramps and behind the ARCO gas station, it's a pretty convenient place if you live in east county. Plus, the station has one of the lowest gas prices I saw in the area. read more

A nice little recycling center convenient for the Spring Valley/Casa de Oro community. They've got "pickle buckets," to dump out any leftover liquids from cans and bottles, plenty of trash cans, hand sanitizer, and a new ATM-like device to redeem your recycling payouts. The staff is generally very helpful and friendly. They are happy to assist with unloading and sorting larger recycling hauls and definitely remember the regulars! They generally have very good-to-decent pricing on bottles and cans. I can sometimes find a better price elsewhere, but this center is so easy to get to and so close to home that it doesn't make much of a difference to me... especially since the facilities are a little nicer than what I've come to expect from recycling centers. Side note: in recent visits, one staff member started weirding me out a bit. He asked lots of inappropriate personal questions such as where I live, if I'm single, etc. and commented on his perception of my drinking habits based on the amount of beer cans and bottles I brought in. I found this to be quite rude and unprofessional, but after coming here for years, I know that it's just him being strange. The rest of the staff doesn't behave this way at all, thankfully. I feel like it's worth mentioning, but won't knock a full star off my review. Just be careful if you're a young woman, I guess? read more

This place is not a business It's a joke! A five star rip off! We brought in 35 ​to 40 lbs of aluminum along with at least 5lbs. of copper, a can and a half of plastic bottles, and a half garbage can of soda cans. They gave us 32 dollars without an itemized receipt of how much per lb. ​they pay for each metal. Three of them said it was different metal, one said it was aluminium the other said it was brass and the other looked confused and went with the aluminum genius! I usually get that much with same amount of cans and plastic bottles only! This place does not practice good business operations! The customer should always feel clear about all transactions and should feel good about doing thier part recycling. read more

This place hosts some of the rudest and unorganized employees that I have ever seen. We were approached by multiple employees, all shouting out different instructions. Then as we moved one of our containers, as directed by one of the employees, another employee came over, grabbed our container, scolded us, and grabbed it away from us. Then as he dragged it, he dropped it on the floor damaging it and spilling out the trash. Finally, they took my cans and bottles and ignored me until I left. I didn't get a dime from them. Used to go here all the time . But we had moved and now back over this way now. Went there yesterday and so not going to go back again. They charged me 10% fee for who knows what on my recyclables. They don't even tell you about it. The only way I found out was I asked for my receipt. That is very dishonest. And the guy really didn't want to give the receipt to me. Ever other place I have been to always hands u a receipt showing how much you had brought in and what they paid you for it. read more

This place keeps busy. A lot of people come through to do their recycling here, so the employees have streamlined the process. There's usually a line to get your recyclables weighed, but it goes fast. Just watch what the others do or ask an attendant if you feel lost. They pay for some things but not others, so take time to sort what you bring. read more

Super courteous, fast, and relatively clean recycling center! I found this place because I was looking for a recycling center with later hours. I came by a little after 4pm on a Thursday and while there were a few other people in a small parking lot, I was in and out within 10 minutes. They provide large bins that you can use to sort your recycling, and even offer assistance. In addition to fair prices, I especially appreciated that trash/hand sanitizer/paper towels are all within easy access, so it was a relatively clean recycling trip compared to other centers I've been to. The processing was quick - he just took my bin of cans and weighed it, I received my refund, and I was out of there! Everyone I interacted with worked quickly, efficiently, and politely. Next time I need to recycle my cans, I'm planning on coming back here. All-in-all: easy/fast process, fair prices, and courteous staff. read more

I'm not the biggest recycler so I just want to get in and out. I've been stuck in line with people who are dropping a ton of bottes and cans to a small trailer or even bigger recycling centers that are so paranoid they put all your things on a conveyor belt to inspect them one by one. It's very easy to park, sort my one bucket of bottles and cans and be on my way with ten bucks. People doing too much do come by but the staff control incoming freight and larger trucks very well and process everyone super quick. This is the only place I go to and the staff are still very friendly, efficient and helpful. I really appreciate how easy and courteous it is! read more

Easy & fast, but they don't pay for steel. I don't know if anyone does these days, but I had a bunch and they took it. I was in and out with dropping off a 200+ lb load of scrap steel in under 10 minutes. Helped with unloading it from my truck, friendly and efficient. read more

This was my first time recycling in San Diego, so I was trying to find a good place where you can get in and out and get a good amount for what you bring. I saw the reviews for this location and it wasn't too far from where we are located. So we bundled up our recycling and drove over. We went in on President's Day and there were a few people in there already. They have limited parking, but it's not too bad because the process is fairly quick (so get in and get out). The processing area is also in front of where the main register/counter is. They have bins for you to sort your plastics, cans, glass and other miscellaneous items. They also have the different prices for the different items you bring in by the register. There was one gentleman that was processing everything for the patrons and he was moving quick. We didn't bring too much so he got us processed and we got our monies from another gentleman behind a counter. We would probably come back after we have another collection of recycling! read more

Greg and the gang here are great. This is a recycling center that takes a lot of items. Got an old appliance? They will pay you for it. Got an old water heater that's busted? They will pay you for it. Insulated wires, wheels, metal Yep they will pay for them all. Competitive prices and friendly service. It's a little bit out of the way in Spring Valley but I find myself in the area every once and awhile and try to stop in. read more

Wow! Kind of bummed to see how bad that first review was. We've been going to this recycling center for some time now since we moved into the area. It's always a win-win situation when you recycle, but you win more when you come here because their rates are higher than anywhere else I've checked. Their hours are reasonable and the customer service is great! I think you can take just about anything to this place to have recycled, I always see appliances and TVs getting wheeled in when I'm recycling. The sign even says they take brass and cooper. The staff is always friendly and very helpful. I have never had a problem finding parking. Wouldn't go any place else and you shouldn't either. read more
