    "Yes"Burger
    Lim T.

Yes! Yes! (NeNe) Chicken please! We were here recently for an afternoon snack! It was my first time here and since my husband had rave about their "Yes" chicken burger that he had, I was super excited to finally make it here to try it out. We also pay extra to make it a combo to include fries and drink. Overall, it was a pretty good deal. I was a little disappointed that the burger was stuffed with a few slices of chicken rather than one thick juicy piece which my husband had really enjoyed last time. The chicken was still tasty but it didn't wow me! Maybe it's better to try the main items from their chicken menu? I guess I'll have to come back to try their chicken pieces and update my review. I can never get sick of fried chicken and luckily GoodLife is close by so after my workout, I can enjoy a KFC meal!

    Fried chicken challenge

I came for the fried chicken challenge happening between Aug 4 and Sep 14, which involves eating 2.5 Kg of drumsticks. So slightly larger than your usual fried chicken meal. Restaurant is clean and simple, 6 tables on the side, washrooms in the basement (no accessibility, and also broken handrail apparently) The chicken is very crispy on the outside and moist and tender on the inside. Very enjoyable to eat, even after 7 pieces. Ended up taking the rest to go in shame, but ate more of it for dinner.

The food we got was amazing. The service was prompt. The restaurant was clean and plays k-pop in the background.

Family size bone-in half-and-half box with Cheese Snow (L) and Swicy (R) flavours

Nene Chicken is a popular fried chicken chain from Korea and I've always been meaning to try it out with friends. Great crispy chicken and hits the spot if you're craving fried chicken. FOOD (4/5) For a party of 3, we ordered a family size half-and-half box which comes with ~16 pieces of chicken. The flavours we got were the Swicy (sweet + spicy) and the Cheese Snow. I believe half-and-half flavours are only available for family size boxes. Boneless chicken is also an option. The chicken has a nice crunchy battered skin and the meat was juicy. The meat could use a bit more seasoning as larger chunks felt a bit bland. The batter I may add is thicker than other places, meaning you taste more dredge as opposed to the skin. The Swicy sauce was great, nice rich gochu spice with a hint of a honey sweetness. The Cheese Snow flavour was essentially the standard artificial cheese seasoning you'd find at a street market for potato spirals. Sadly the seasoning was only sprinkled over and not tossed, so the bottoms of some pieces didn't have much of the flavour. A family size box is just enough for 3 people to feel satisfied but not full. I'd recommend splitting with 2 people to feel full after the meal. The chicken is also served with a small side of pickled radishes as a palate cleanser. ACCESSIBILITY (5/5) Nene is located just outside Sheppard-Yonge station on Yonge St by the HMart, making it super easy to transit to. Parking as usual along Yonge is a bit tricky, but available if you look around. AMBIENCE (2.5/5) The restaurant operates by ordering first and then having a seat inside (a la food court). There are about 5 tables of 2 inside and isn't anything special. However, the space and tables were fairly clean. PRICE (4/5) I think prices are pretty comparable to other Korean fried chicken places in the GTA. OVERALL (4/5) Nene is a great option to nip a fried chicken craving and a nice spot to share with a few friends. I do wish they offered a wider range of flavours as I believe there is a total of 6, and 1 of which was sold out when I visited.

Nene Chicken is a popular fried chicken franchise in Korea and recently opened up a location in Toronto. I was excited to give it a try after seeing so many reviews online about it. I got the snowy cheese drumsticks and the Yes combo (comes with a sandwich, fries and drink). Snowy cheese drumsticks: 5 pieces of chicken were around $17. It was a bit on the expensive side for chicken I'll be honest. They tasted decent but wasn't worth for what you pay for since it was pretty standard tasting fried chicken. Yes combo: Around $13 it was a decent combo that you get additional shake shack fries for $1 extra. The chicken was nice and crispy, however sauce flavour it seemed average of what you can find elsewhere. Overall, I was a bit disappointed given the amount of hype and found it to be overpriced for what you get.

    Soy garlic medium boneless KFC
    Natalie C.

Got the medium boneless classic range with soy garlic sauce to go. I'm usually a bone-in KFC kind of person as I don't really like how the boneless version are usually relatively small and therefore the batter to meat ratio is really high. However, this is not the case for Nene's. The boneless pieces were a decent size and the meat was juicy! If you like your KFC coated evenly with sauce, this might not be the right place for you. There was barely any soy garlic sauce - in fact, when I opened the box back at home, I thought they gave us the wrong order. Not sure if they cut back on the sauce for take out orders in order for the chicken to stay crispy

There has been a lot of hype about Nene Chicken on social media. We went to Nene Chicken just after 12 p.m. and there was already people waiting for their food. The menu was kind of confusing to order, but I settled for the Lunch drumstick combo. It came with fries and some dipping sauce, but no drink. We ordered around 12:10 and we didn't get our food until 12:40!! I don't understand why it took so long to get our food. Other diners in the restaurant had the same problem. The restaurant was kind of small with limited seating. The staff was nice and friendly. The fried chicken were good, but no different from Jolibee, Popeyes, Church chicken etc.

3.5 Having had Nene's chicken outside of Canada, I was so excited for their arrival in Ontario! We ordered a family size half half flavour of swicy and snow cheese bone in. Added a medium size of original boneless and a side of fries. I am definitely a fan of saucier ones and the swicy hits the spot! It is not spicy so I think if you have a low tolerance you should try it. The chicken is crispy and juicy on the side and sauce is seasoned well. The snow cheese was good too but some pieces were more covered in cheese than others, just a thing to note. Bone in over boneless all the way. The boneless felt like all the leftover bits from the chopping board. Half the portion were small crumbly bits that I felt were more batter than chicken. THE FRIES. For a side that is $4... I expected more... the portion was very tiny and the amount of fries I got is less than a mcd happy meal size. The fries themselves were decent and were thicker than mcd but for $4 for that portion, sorry no thanks. Overall, get the swicy! Will try the creamon one next time. And forget about the fries.

Original NeNe Fried Chicken and Swicy Chicken

Since their arrival to Canada, NeNe Chicken has been bringing their years of experience in Fried Chicken to broaden our options for KFC in Toronto. The selection is limited but it shows their commitment to ensuring the best bone in or boneless fried chicken depending on the sauces you select! The Original Fried Chicken is crispy and with enough seasoning to coat all the meat in the portion! The Swicy Chicken is a nice balance of sweet and spicy and the amount of garlic doesn't overpower the delicate sweetness of the batter. The Chicken Burger is a nice portion for its price and is a good balance of cheese, sauce and a fried chicken breast. They offer great side dishes in Shack Shack Fries and Onion Rings which are a nice complement to the fried chicken. Overall, I can't wait for my next visit!

Great Korean fried chicken that is filling and fairly priced. I tried their bone-in lunch chicken box with swicy sauce, the added sauce was especially delicious.

Yet another Korean Fried Chicken joint in this neighborhood, but I love it! So many options around here, and this place is another great option for kfc. Order by phone for a quick pick up. There are a few parking spots at the back of the building. Restaurant seems pretty small with lots of ppl waiting around for their chicken. Tried the soya garlic, snow cheese and swicy. All are good, really depends on your preference, but soya garlic is always a go to for me.

A new KFC spot that's popular in Korea has finally opened its first location in the GTA - North York. Nene Chicken means Yes/Yes in Korean, which also means the willingness to be friendly. We came around dinner time on Mon, and was quite surprised how busy it was! The restaurant isn't too spacious, so seats are limited on a first come basis. However, the staff does their job of ensuring no one is hogging a table Our cashier was pretty friendly, and offered his advice when we had questions. We opted to try their family pack (there's small, med and family pack size), and you have the option of splitting the flavours. The chicken can also be chosen as boneless or with bone (depending on the stock for the day). Their chicken is made fresh to order, so a little bit of wait time is to be expected. The original was very crispy and juicy, and for the Soy Garlic, I was quite surprised how well the chicken retained its crunchiness after being covered in sauce. We got many pieces, and had to end up taking the rest home. I would definitely recommend coming to this spot, their KFC does not disappoint! IG: Ayenomz

Very good fried chicken. Comparable in quality to competitors like MyMy and others. Menu could have more side options.

Somehow we didn't get the hype memo, as our order was far from a grand one. I'm glad the business is doing well so I'm sharing an honest opinion of the fried chicken and shrimp sandwich. The staff was surprised to have business on a weekend afternoon, and just sat under the cash register. Within our order, the fried shrimp sandwich came loaded in a crunchy patty with beans & veggies inside toasted buns. I was anticipating a good bite; the only problem was that it was rock hard without much flavour. Since I don't like wasting food, I didn't toss it out. The spicy chicken was crispy and seasoned well similar to Taiwanese fried chicken. Its only drawback was that the spice seasoning was quite salty. Not as ultra crispy as Taiwanese night market chicken but it'll do. One benefit of this location is that dessert is only a stone's throw away. The nearby Wooffles & Cream stall is always busy. The rest of this quiet food court seemed to have fallen on harder times during the pandemic though a return to office may help boost lunch business. However, we'll be getting our fried chicken fix from elsewhere at a similar price point.

Ambiance is casual, interior is clean, and service is fast and attentive. We ordered a couple of dishes and they all came out relatively quickly. The banchan (small side dishes) are refillable once only. My favourite banchan of the day were the bean sprouts and eggplant. There were lots of vegetarian and vegan options, such as the Steamed Vegetable Dumplings, Vegetables Bibimbap, Mushrooms Bibimbap, Vegetables Udon, Vegetables Fried Rice, Kimchi Pancake, Soondubu-jjigae (Soft Tofu Stew) in different variations, and more. The menu was pretty extensive, covering the most typical Korean dishes from the stews and grilled items, to a few Korean-Chinese dishes (such as Jajangmyeon) and everything in between. Steamed Vegetables Dumplings were quite small individually, but came in a sizeable portion. I liked the green onion garnish. Taste-wise, they were alright. Vegetables Bibimbap was excellent - good amount of mixed vegetables (spinach, zucchini, mushrooms, carrot strips, lettuce, bean sprouts) and the fried egg was perfectly crispy on the outer edges, with a still gooey and runny yolk. Grilled Croaker was also decent. It had a lot of small bones as it was a whole fish. It came served with purple rice, and we chose to add on extra lettuce. Seafood Knife Cut Noodles came in a big portion - with lots of slippery, thick udon noodles, pieces of seafood (mussels, clams, squid, shrimps, octopus), and a little big of vegetables (zucchini, carrot, onion). They came in a nice seafood-infused broth - perfect for a cold winter day. I'd come again for the variety of menu items they offer (especially the wide selection of vegetarian options), satisfying tastes, and great & efficient service.
