I can't quite remember all the flavors we tried, but they were all super yummy. Really loved the rose tteokbokki, and the cheese corn was so solid too. Overall, The Fry is a yummy place for fried chicken!

Staff was friendly and quickly brought us water and complimentary side dishes. You order from a tablet from the table and food was brought over pretty quickly. We aren't that hungry so only ordered the spicy boneless fried chicken. It was actually more sweet than spicy, but overall crispy skin, tender meat inside, quite addictive. There are some interesting handwritten posters on their wall, see my picture for an example.

KFC is one of our favorites. It's super crispy with a variety of flavors. We chose the soy garlic and green onion. The soy garlic has always been our favorite due to its rich flavor. This time we tried the green onion flavor for the first time and it just served with a lot of green onions along with the original flavor. I don't think I'll try it again though. Also, it's quite expensive compared to other restaurants. Anyway, their chicken was still delicious and crispy even when we ordered takeout.

Very crispy and delicious chicken. Had leftovers for days and served it with homemade curry. I was disappointed they didn't have ramen ttbokki.

The fried chicken is decent but the bathroom area was incredibly off-putting, with the smell of sewage, and both live and dead bugs littering the bathroom. The lack of care for cleaning the bathroom makes me worry about what the kitchen could look like...

I was very impressed with this location of The Fry for their service and food quality! I came with my friend after the Raptors Lakers game looking for a quick bite and we were very happy with the post game meal! The location was still busy for a Wednesday night and for good reason! They have the typical flavor options but we opted for the new Supreme Sauce and Cheeseling flavors. The Supreme Sauce plays more on the sweeter side which pairs well with the saltiness you get from Cheeseling Chicken. The boneless chicken was very crispy and juicy given the amount of sauce tossed with it. A great bite overall to enjoy with stew or with cheese corn!

Purely COVID times delivery Order was fast, food arrived well packaged and the chicken remained crispy and hot without getting soggy. Definitely on the pricier side but you know that it's definitely real chicken with parts you can recognize!

This place is nothing to look at inside, but the server was friendly and funny and helpful and cheerful and the food was hot and fast and good. It was a Saturday early evening and this place filled up fast with groups of nice young guys hungry for crispy/saucy chicken. Our small fries (which were massive) came out first. We had to try the cheese powder, and these were generously heaped with that slightly sweet Kraft Dinner tasting dust. Fries were good and hot. The server sailed in some freebies on the house - a corn covered hot plate soaking in bubbling sweet sauce, plus a plate with slaw and pickled daikon. The daikon was great palate cleanser between puffs of cheese powder. The corn was too sweet for my taste, but my table-mates gobbled it up no problem. Then came the main event. We went for a half & half chicken, half soy+garlic and half savoury. (Would have tried spicy, but we were with a teen who's not so keen on heat.) We liked the savory a lot more, which was more crispy, with its flavour sealed in, while the soy garlic was sweet and still saucy. The portion is huge. We were 3 hungry eaters and we still came home with 3 pieces. We opted for bone-in. I was pleased to see all the parts reveal themselves through the meal. I got the neck! Our teen had water while we sipped soju and a beer chaser. A great meal at the end of a big day downtown. BONUS: 10% off if you pay cash.

I've been here two times for dinner and somehow managed to grab the last available table both times. It's a little dark inside. The service was subpar; there was only one waitress and she took awhile to seat us and she never offered to refill our water. It was also difficult to catch her attention to ask for a refill. There are complementary appetizers which include corn, pickled daikon and cabbage with some kind of mayo dressing that I wasn't a fan of. The corn was tasty, buttery and super hot. Our chicken took 20-30 mins to arrive both times. The first time, we ordered a combo with original fried chicken and chicken in special sauce. The original fried chicken was nothing spectacular. The chicken in sauce was delicious and each piece was coated in sauce. We also ordered garlic butter fries which were quite good. The second time, we ordered a combo with soy garlic chicken, chicken in sauce and fries. The fries were crispy but I preferred the garlic butter fries for the extra flavour. The soy garlic chicken lacked flavour and you could barely taste any garlic. Overall, I rate this place highly because I love the fried chicken in sauce and I would come back and order it for a third time and the portions are huge. Despite the chicken being expensive, the portions make the pricing seem reasonable. However, I would not order the original or the soy garlic chicken again because they were unremarkable.

My friends and I ordered half and half chicken (regular and one coated in a sweet spicy-ish sauce), dukbukki, and garlic fries around 5ish on a weekday. We were given 4 side dishes: coleslaw, thinly sliced cabbage in some spicy mayo sauce(?), pickled radish, and cheese corn. The chicken was delicious. With a thick and crispy batter on the outside coating, the chicken was super tender and juicy on the inside. The chicken might seem cold because the restaurant itself is pretty chilly but it is fried to order. The dukbukki was the highlight of the meal. I thought it was delicious, had an abundance of fish and rice cake. However, it is definitely on the pricier end compared to other Korean restaurants' prices. I read in a previous review that their garlic fries were amazing so I was very excited to try them. The crispy fries were sprinkled with some garlic powder mixture on the top... and it was very VERY *SWEET*. This definitely caught me off by surprise. I did not enjoy these fries because I was expecting something more savoury such as some salty garlic-y fries so I am rounding down on this one. The Fry could definitely improve in their size portions. I also would have liked if they indicated on the menu if the fries were sweet. Service was good. They also had no problem splitting the bill for us.

July 3, 2019 - After seeing Dean, Rad Museum, Tabber and Miso at The Phoenix, some friends I meet there wanted to have something to eat. We all decided on The Fry. One of the girls recommended Yogurt Soju. Wow that is yummy! We ordered Original Chicken 5/5 Cheese powder fries 5/5 Spicy Rice Cake with BBQ Chicken 5/5 Corn with Cheese 5/5 Sojus 5/5 Everything was very good and the staff was very nice.

Small place but really fresh chicken. Very impressed with this location. Friendly staff. Not many seats but worth the wait. Get soy garlic and spicy sauce. No regrets.

Just a heads up though, if you order "mild" it is still definitely spicy, but in a good way. That said, the service was a big downside. When I went with friends, the place was not even busy, but it still took about 20 minutes for our food to come out (yes I counted because we were in a rush). We only ordered two tenders with no drink. For something that feels like fast food, that is pretty unreasonable. I also went specifically to try the mozzarella sticks, but we were told they had not even started making them and it would take another 40 minutes, which is kind of wild. Even when our food was ready, things moved really slowly. The cashier took SEVERAL minutes just labeling and staring at each box, even though we all ordered the same thing, and then another minute just to put everything into a paper bag. Maybe it was his first day? Another frustrating part was that the washrooms were locked, so we could not even use them while we were there, which was a mild inconvenience, but I think bathroom access in a spicy chicken shop is a bit crucial. On top of that, it is pretty expensive for what you get. Overall, the food is the only thing really saving this place. It tastes incredible, but because of the slow service, locked washrooms, and high prices, I probably would not go back.

Overall, my experience was alright. Nothing screamed out "Oh I have to go again!" or "let me tell…read moresomeone about this!". The piece of chicken on my sandwich was a rather peculiar piece in terms of its shape. It did not provide an enjoyable eating experience. When I took my first bite, after figuring out which would be an easy bite, a piece of chicken fell out which made me realize it was two separate pieces of chicken inbetween two buns. It got rather messy after having to pick up the fallen pieces. Other than that, it was flavorful but wasn't the best I've had. I prefer Dave's Hot Chicken over this. My fries were pretty salty. If given the option, I would have requested lightly salted or no salt at all. Space was small but understandable as it seemed to be a carry-out spot. Customer service wasn't quite all that. The girl took our order and that was it. Not much of a greeting nor farewell/thanks for coming. We didn't receive a follow-up during our meal to see if we may needed anything. I would have benefited from extra napkins. My friend enjoyed his meal. He stated it was a good meal but he wouldn't go out of his way to get this. He would have preferred to uber-eats it if he lived here. What made me want to go was the name. My last name is the same as the restaurant name so I figured give it a go! Same concept and menu as the Queen Street location. Friendly and welcoming as soon I enter the restaurant. Great for small groups and solo diners as well. Very easy and efficient way to place your order. I got my usual, Signature Tonkotsu ($16) with a flavoured egg (+$3). It did not disappoint. Very good and flavourful broth without being too salty. This location is newer but retains the same seating format inside as its predecessors. First thing I noticed sitting down was how inflation absolutely drove these prices through the roof since the last time I had a bowl. Got myself a tonkotsu broth (totally missed the gyokai option ... only realized once I started eating and casually glanced back over at my sheet). Added premium toppings and held off on the gyozas this time around. Some things to note. They removed some condiments from the table. The pickled ginger, bamboo, mustard greens and garlic all used to be available ON the table for me to grab as a customer. Now the waitress just asks you if you want them when she's grabbing your order sheet. I think they should revert to having those items back on the table. I'm still able to grind my own sesame seeds into my ramen at the table which is great. Taste-wise, the bowl was delicious and reconfirmed to me why Ikkousha belongs in my top 5 list for toronto ramen. Value though? That's another story... My bowl of ramen with premium toppings and a serving of extra noodles was ~ $30 after tax and tip which is wild tbh. I don't think any other ramen place is charging that or more except Hokkaido Ramen Santouka (which I would argue has debatable value as a diner because of their super small portions). Yes, as a resto owner you account for inflation but I can't help feeling that the current pricing has gone past the inflation curve. 5 star ramen, 2 star pricing/value. The quality was excellent hence the 5 stars, but mentally I HAVE to drop a star because the price is just too high to ignore.
