So aggressively healthy with their seamoss, spirulina, whey and collagen infusions, priced between $11 and $22.. naturally, I decided to yolo. The service staff was kind, offered to sit me and my daughter down on one of their many patio tables to drink our smoothies and people watch Williamsburg in their $400 Alo overalls while being funemployed. The smoothies are genuinely fantastic. My daughter for the berry blast (I think) and I got their Aura New York Glam. With no added sugars or sweeteners, it was delicious. My daughter almost never finishes her smoothies but this one went down like water. It was good enough to inspire me to begin a wellness journey starting like right now. I've been seeing their videos of fresh and authentically made mango sticky rice so I had to come and try it. We came Saturday morning and got one of their tables outside. We were going to try some of their brunch dishes, but we came before 12pm so we ended up only trying the mango sticky rice, which is a weekend only special. It was delicious! The mango was sweet and fresh (although I know mango sweetness cannot be controlled) and the sticky rice and coconut cream was great as well. But if you're just getting a little drinkety drink, the 2nd floor would be more than fine. The place sells a couple of different smoothies, and the New York Glam is known as the Erewhon Hailey Bieber smoothie dupe. It contains a bunch of fruits, including strawberry, and collagen and sea moss. The drink is expensive ($17) but still a little cheaper than the real deal. Nem is a cute little Japanese restaurant that has both indoor and outdoor seating. The service was a bit slow, which took about 30 minutes after placing our order to get our food. The dish that stood out the most was the shrimp and avocado dish; it was creamy, flavorful, and the ingredients accompanied each other perfectly! The egg salad sandwich was quite underwhelming and expensive for what it is; it wasn't all that flavorful and not as creamy as a traditional Japanese egg sando. We also got the Japanese Carbonara which was also disappointing, for it was just extremely rich without much flavor contrast asides from the bacon bits. Overall, it was a disappointing experience for us for the amount of money spent. I came here for breakfast during my last trip to Brooklyn. I was walking around and stumbled across this little gem. It is small inside but super cozy and the staff was so nice, attentive, and welcoming. I came here with a girlfriend and we ordered a bunch of things. I ordered their matcha waffles, the egg sando, and a leeks and mushroom toast. The food was great, not amazing but good. Came here craving the creamy carbonara udon from Tokyo and I'd have to say the itch was scratched. It's not exactly like the Tokyo version, a little soupy but the flavors were there any the bacon was delicious. My boyfriend and I also got the karaage, egg sando, and the mochi waffle for dessert. This place really deserves all the hype. Unfortunately avoided this place for a while due to reviews until earlier this spring. My first order was the matcha smoothie and mochi waffles. Both were delicious but it was the smoothie that I found to be really unique. Since then, I've tried just about every "super premium" smoothie. Yes, they're pricey but if you consider the ingredients used in each one - I think the price is overall justified. Since the lines were long in the summer, I would often order for an Uber eats pick up. The staff is also really wonderful and you can often see the owner there (cute lady wearing a beret). This was a brunch spot I stopped at during my visit to the city. It was very hyped up on social media and their menu is certainly packed with yummy looking options! Given my situation I was ever so slightly disappointed in my main meal (a grain-of-salt note: this is coming from someone who lives near SF, CA). I tried their Miso Butter Scrambled Eggs and Vitamin Sea smoothie. The eggs very flavorful, but were a bit on the heavier side and I would've liked to have more pickled onions on the side to balance things out better. Wow! Asian AND Scandinavian fusion cuisine?! Now that sounds interesting! Located in the National Sawdust Factory building, Nem's is self described as a "Woman Minority-Powered Brand" that "serves Japanese and Scandinavian cuisine, including breakfast, brunch and dinner. It offers an extensive selection of special teas, fresh Smoothies and crafted cocktails". The owner/chef, Bangkok native Supranee Phramdaag[1], originally opened a smoothie bar pop up a block away from the bistro in 2018. That first experience gave her the idea of opening Nem's to offer something new and different. We came here for brunch on a rainy Saturday in January, and we loved this place. We had the opportunity to try both Japanese and Scandinavian dishes. First of all, the ambiance is certainly Japandi, i.e. "a combination of Japanese and Scandinavian aesthetics, the look is calm, casual, and organic". With lots of white tones, the vibe is minimalistic cool, calming, and welcoming all at the same time. Oh, and upstairs there is Koi, a speakeasy-style izakaya bar serving Japanese whiskey and sake, plus cocktails[2]. I loved how the menu offers an impressive list of smørrebrød, the Danish equivalent of tapas. Wew got the opportunitu to try the Avocado & Shrimp one, and it was really delicious! The Japandi Eggs Benedict was also great, just like the Chicken Teriyaki sandwich. I would certainly recommend all 3 dishes. Prices are not cheap, but the quality of the dishes is really high, particularly if you consider that they are all prepared fresh, when ordered. I found a new place (a new regular spot). I've always passed by but for whatever reason assumed it was American so never bothered to check it out. Until my client asked me what my fave place for matcha was and she told me about Nem's. Now what piqued my interest was when she said that she ordered a $20 matcha smoothie (LOL). I love Nem's bistro! I wish there was one in my neighborhood! Yesterday the weather was nice and the bistro was picked outside! I was not surprised, Nem's bistro is getting more and more popular every day . The line at the juice window was insane. Beside the busy atmosphere we had a great experience. I honestly don't know how the staff managed it cause they all seemed calm and focused. When I write reviews I always put an emphasis on the atmosphere and the vibed that the staff gives. I think the main reason why I return to a place depends on the experience I had. It goes without saying that the food was outstanding as usual! Have you tried their carbonara? Let's start with the positive. Nem's decor is everything one would want. Very Japanese-y design. Juice bar and small eating area downstairs, trendy (almost hidden) bar upstairs. The staff was extremely nice (albeit slow service). Everything on their menu sounded fantastic. But unfortunately, that's it. We ordered the karaage (fried chicken), velvete omelete, and japandi eggs benedict. If we were to judge the food on presentation alone, it's a 10/10. If we were to judge on taste alone, it would be 2/10. The karaage didn't have enough batter. There was no crispiness and the chicken had a very strong (unpleasant) chicken flavor. The "omelete" wasn't even an omelette...it was more like scrambled eggs and it was very bland. And i've also never had a more bland eggs benedict...the gravlax under the eggs didn't taste like anything and it's supposed to have miso hollandaise and furikake seasoning. Tasted none of that. It was just extremely disappointing. The worse part is...I don't know if it's because of the egg price issue but they used very cheap eggs. Menu says "free range" eggs which could really mean anything but we know low quality eggs when we see it. Super bright neon yellow eggs are the cheap eggs, usually. I don't mind if prices are higher but I don't like paying premium price for bland/low quality ingredients. Come here for the drinks maybe and for the vibe...but their breakfast/brunch is a no go for me. read more

Adorable spot! It was my first time, came for brunch with a friend and we could've stayed for hours. We both got lattes and we split the miso butter scrambled eggs and the matcha cream mochi waffle. The food was so yummy, especially the waffle! The prices for the smoothies are a little high yes but they looked like huge smoothies meant to fill you up, like a meal, so... Genuinely don't understand the complaints about the service. I'm biased because I work in the food service industry, but the servers were sweet and we never felt ignored. I just wouldn't say this is a place to go (or any sit-down restaurant tbh lol) if you're in a rush. Fun fusion concept of two cuisines I would have never imagined being paired together. We stopped in for a table for 3 on a Saturday afternoon and were seated immediately. The tables outside are a great place to chat & people watch if it's not to hot. The servers were very patient with us as we ordered a couple of appetizers and drinks while waiting on our 3rd person. My friends and I like to eat family-style so we can sample a bit of everything, and the servers were very pleasant and kind in bringing us small plates for sharing. The nasu dengaku was nicely balanced in flavor- sweet, savory, with nutty & toasted elements. The Nordic potato salad was a fun play on Japanese potato salad utilizing fingerling potatoes! It was more acidic than most Japanese style potato salads but I quite enjoyed it, especially against the skins of the fingerling potatoes. The miso butter scrambled eggs were cooked just to my liking- not too firm and not too soft or runny but I wasn't getting much miso. The togarashi was a nice touch but overall this was a fairly plain egg dish. The miso mushroom & leek tartine was just OK. Very miso forward. Did not really taste any leek. Between the 3 of us, we did not finish this by the end of the meal as we found the miso mushroom a bit too salty and overpowering over all the other elements. Chicken katsu sando - the chicken katsu was very crispy! I'm a big fan of sourdough and katsu sandos, but I will say I prefer them separately. I found the combination of crust-on sourdough and katsu to be... a bit TOO crispy? Eating the crusts with the katsu was dry and had me missing the usual pillowy Japanese milk bread. What a beautiful new addition to Williamsburg. The menu is incredibly delicious and you can taste the quality of the ingredients. I have come here twice, once to try their immunity smoothie (absolutely delicious) and their two chirashi bowls. In terms of food, I would give Nems a solid 5/5 (very delicious, healthy and high quality). However, I had to dock them a star due to the poor service I experienced. It may be due to too much demand and not enough people on staff. I came on a weekday for lunch, and it took 20 minutes to even place my order and to get waters for the table.
