Really cute spot for some Japanese breakfast/brunch or a smoothie. But the food was mediocre, especially the chicken katsu sando. If you plan on having a whole meal, I don't recommend sitting on the 2nd floor even though it's really cozy and well-decorated. The round tables are soooo tiny, it barely fits anything. But if you're just getting a little drinkety drink, the 2nd floor would be more than fine. The place sells a couple of different smoothies, and the New York Glam is known as the Erewhon Hailey Bieber smoothie dupe. It contains a bunch of fruits, including strawberry, and collagen and sea moss. The drink is expensive ($17) but still a little cheaper than the real deal. It doesn't taste like a normal fruit smoothie, which I'm glad, because then I would question if all that good stuff (collagen and sea moss) was actually included. It tastes funny to me, but not bad. Agree with another Yelper that the service was slow. Brunch is from 12-4 pm

Nem is a cute little Japanese restaurant that has both indoor and outdoor seating. The service was a bit slow, which took about 30 minutes after placing our order to get our food. The dish that stood out the most was the shrimp and avocado dish; it was creamy, flavorful, and the ingredients accompanied each other perfectly! The egg salad sandwich was quite underwhelming and expensive for what it is; it wasn't all that flavorful and not as creamy as a traditional Japanese egg sando. We also got the Japanese Carbonara which was also disappointing, for it was just extremely rich without much flavor contrast asides from the bacon bits. Overall, it was a disappointing experience for us for the amount of money spent. The staff were nice and friendly, and although our waiter got our drink order wrong, our server was apologetic and receptive, which was really sweet. I believe Nem has potential of being amazing, but some of their selections and pricing definitely need some reworking! TLDR: Get the shrimp and avocado toast, it was extremely delicious! Thank you for reading and best of luck! (:

I came here for breakfast during my last trip to Brooklyn. I was walking around and stumbled across this little gem. It is small inside but super cozy and the staff was so nice, attentive, and welcoming. I came here with a girlfriend and we ordered a bunch of things. I ordered their matcha waffles, the egg sando, and a leeks and mushroom toast. The food was great, not amazing but good. My girlfriend who has been to japan said it was ok, she thought the waffles were too chewy. The egg sando was yummy and it was a great size. I would come back and try other options. It was busy but the staff was so good at making sure everyone was taken care of.

We really enjoyed eating at this restaurant. We came at 4pm on a weekday so it was not busy. We had the salmon chirashi and the Wagyu burgers. Food was delicious, it was a nice stop in Williamsburg. It's very cozy here, bathrooms are on the second floor. Second level has a bar and nice decor, very dark.

We first came across **Nem's Japandi Bistro** while wandering around Williamsburg and knew we had to come back for brunch. It's cozy, calm, and beautifully curated -- very Japandi in both aesthetic and spirit. We started with aromatic coffee and a healthy, refreshing ichigo juice. For food, we shared the gravlax smørrebrød (+$7 for avocado) and the miso-buttered scrambled eggs. The ingredients were incredibly fresh, and every bite felt intentional. The toasted sourdough slathered with miso butter was a standout -- deeply savory and so satisfying. It's on the pricier side ($$$ per person), but the quality and vibe make it worthwhile. $$$ for value for vibe for food

Came here craving the creamy carbonara udon from Tokyo and I'd have to say the itch was scratched. It's not exactly like the Tokyo version, a little soupy but the flavors were there any the bacon was delicious. My boyfriend and I also got the karaage, egg sando, and the mochi waffle for dessert. My favorite dish of the evening would have to be the dessert. The mochi waffle texture had the best contrast - crispy warm exterior and chewy mochi bite. They rotate flavors so I'll definitely be back for another one - we had a toffee banana version.

Loved everything about this place. I got the teishoku with salmon and it was amazing. Also tried the gyudon, which came with seven grain rice that we really liked. The ambiance is warm and welcoming, especially on a rainy day. Great service and just an overall comforting meal.

Always pass by this place and finally remembered to pop in for dinner! The outside is very eye-catching with the wall art and the inside is very cute and intimate. I got the Japandi Egg Salad Sando ($16) and New York Glam smoothie ($17). I thought they were just okay. I've heard people call the New York Glam smoothie the Erewhon Hailey Bieber smoothie dupe, but I'm hesitant to agree as it was more tart than sweet, but might have to wait until strawberry season. The Egg Sando was tasty and filling but could've used more seasoning. Cute place and aesthetic food, but price point is a bit steep.

My acai smoothie was unfortunately bad :( it had no flavor at all and it felt like i was just drinking purple dyed water for $12. I really wanted to like this place but there are plenty of other spots in the neighborhood where your money will stretch farther

This place is very cute. The smoothies are really good. They have indoor seating, outdoor seating, and a bar upstairs. The service was friendly and quick.

This place really deserves all the hype. Unfortunately avoided this place for a while due to reviews until earlier this spring. My first order was the matcha smoothie and mochi waffles. Both were delicious but it was the smoothie that I found to be really unique. Since then, I've tried just about every "super premium" smoothie. Yes, they're pricey but if you consider the ingredients used in each one - I think the price is overall justified. Since the lines were long in the summer, I would often order for an Uber eats pick up. The staff is also really wonderful and you can often see the owner there (cute lady wearing a beret). I love that they offer indoor and outdoor seating - especially in the summer, the outdoor seating was perfect. Great ambiance and people :). Looking forward to trying their new carbonara menu item and for the future seasonal specials

Food was delicious and portion is great to share for 2 people! Service was great too! Vibes were so nice! Got the udon carbonara, salmon bowl, and egg Sando. We also go a black sesame latte but doesn't taste like black sesame but overall was great!

This review is for the green juice . They consistently use what seems to be fresh and quality ingredients and the service is prompt and friendly. I will be back to try more things.

My husband had the kaishin don, I had the Ozakaya donburi set and our girls shared the shoyu tonkatsu ramen. The fish was so incredibly fresh here and the rice was seasoned perfectly. My donburi set also came with dashi broth that the waitress later brought over to pour on top of the leftover rice in my bowl to be enjoyed at the end of the meal. The broth and rice combination was really comforting and satisfying. This dish was something I wanted to try in Japan but did not get a chance to experience when there, so I was excited to try it at Ozakaya. I was really pleasantly surprised by the ramen here as well. Although the pork could have been better/more tender, the broth was rich and seasoned so well and not too salty like other places. Last but not least, the service here was excellent and efficient. I would definitely come back here the next time I visit Brooklyn as there were many dishes on the menu I wanted to try!

For our food we ordered the hako sushi, tornado omelette fried rice, trio tuna sushi roll, yakitori platter (ordered chicken gizzard and gyu harami on the side) and the A5 Wagyu cooked on the stone grill. I recommend getting the yakitori platter as it's a nice sampler but my husband especially enjoyed the chicken gizzard. My dad never had wagyu before so he especially loved the wagyu but I do think it's expensive for the amount they give you, I can see why it's pricier but just know before you order it's like $45 for 2.5 oz or in our case about 5 thin slices of wagyu. My brother said the tornado omelette was tasty and filling and he enjoyed it. The trio tuna sushi roll was very fresh. As for the service, I think everyone was pleasant but the vibes were a little off, it seems like they were just very exhausted. This doesn't affect the quality of the food or the experience but it was just something I noticed. They were still very attentive and provided great service. The reason for the one star off is because I do wish the Hako sushi had a bit more flavor, I saw so many different ingredients and fish but none of the flavors were impactful, it was rather one dimensional which was disappointing because it was presented so beautifully. Overall, I recommend giving Izakaya nana a try and I would definitely go again to try other things.

Even before the food arrives, the restaurant leaves a strong impression with its stunning Japanese-inspired interior. The space is beautifully designed, blending warmth and elegance in a way that feels both inviting and refined. From the soft lighting to the natural wood accents and thoughtfully arranged decor, everything about the atmosphere feels intentional. It captures the intimate charm of a traditional izakaya while still feeling modern and stylish, making it a wonderful setting for anything from a casual dinner to a more special night out. The food more than lived up to the beauty of the space. One of the first highlights was the salmon onigiri, a dish that proved how satisfying simplicity can be when it is done well. The rice was soft, fresh, and perfectly formed, holding together without feeling too compact, while the salmon added a savory richness that made each bite feel comforting and flavorful. It was balanced, delicate, and deeply satisfying in a way that made it memorable despite its simplicity. The seared salmon salad was another standout. The salmon itself was beautifully prepared, with a lightly seared exterior that gave it a subtle crispness, while the inside remained tender, buttery, and smooth. That contrast in texture made the dish especially enjoyable. Paired with the freshness of the salad, it felt light and refreshing, yet still substantial enough to feel like more than just a side dish. It was a dish that managed to feel both clean and indulgent at the same time. The grilled squid was particularly impressive and easily one of the most memorable items of the meal. Squid can often be difficult to get right, as it can become rubbery or overly chewy if even slightly overcooked, but that was absolutely not the case here. The texture was spectacular--tender, delicate, and pleasantly springy without any toughness. Each bite had a light smokiness from the grill that added depth, while the squid itself retained its natural sweetness. It was expertly prepared and showcased a level of precision that really stood out. For the main courses, both the Tonkatsu Ramen and the Black Pepper Ramen delivered distinct experiences, each with its own appeal. The Tonkatsu Ramen was deeply comforting and satisfying, with a broth that had a rich, velvety texture and a full-bodied depth that coated the palate beautifully. It felt smooth, hearty, and luxurious without being too heavy. The noodles had an ideal texture as well--firm enough to provide a satisfying bite, yet soft enough to soak up the broth and integrate perfectly into the dish. Altogether, it was a bowl that felt warming, balanced, and incredibly comforting. The Black Pepper Ramen, on the other hand, brought a bolder and more assertive flavor profile. The broth had a smooth, glossy texture, and the noodles again had a pleasing chew that gave the dish structure and substance. The black pepper added an unmistakable warmth and aromatic intensity that made the ramen stand out immediately. It was flavorful and memorable, though the pepper was slightly overwhelming at times. A bit less black pepper would have allowed the other flavors in the broth to come through more clearly and created a more balanced bowl. Even so, the ramen was still enjoyable, especially for those who appreciate strong, pepper-forward flavors. Overall, Izakaya Fuku is a restaurant that succeeds on every level. The stunning Japanese interior creates an atmosphere that feels both immersive and elegant, while the food reflects a real attention to detail in both flavor and texture. From the comforting salmon onigiri, to the fresh and beautifully prepared seared salmon salad, to the expertly grilled squid with its exceptional texture, and finally the rich and satisfying ramen dishes, every part of the meal felt carefully executed. It is a place that offers not just excellent food, but a complete dining experience, and it is well worth visiting for anyone looking for standout Japanese cuisine in New York.

This sounded like a perfect savory brunch for someone who likes to try multiple things. Every item had been carefully thought through and very well executed. The potatoes were crispy on the edges and fluffy in the middle. The tofu scramble was soft and almost silky. The mushroom balls were delicious. They had a crispy exterior and a slightly chewy but not tough interior. I would order those on their own as an appetizer. The star of the plate for me was the bread. The owner who spoke to us told us he makes it himself and it shows how much care he put into baking it. The structure of the crumb was airy with a crunchy crust. I loved the addition of fennel and raisins for sweetness and a touch of warmth. The only small tweak that I would make to this is to add something fresh like a side salad or sautéed greens, as i think the bitterness would round out the flavors. WOULD I GO BACK? Yes!
