I've always only used big chain pharmacies in the past. One of my prescriptions recently was delayed because the big chain place couldn't get it. I won't pretend to know how all this works, but I found it kind of shocking that I checked a couple of other big chain pharmacies and got the same response. My husband suggested I check out the little mom n pop place in town. I thought for sure, there is no way they'd have what I needed if the bigger chains couldn't get it. Well! I was super wrong! Not only did Nelson's fill my Rx, like very quickly, the pharmacist there called the original place themselves to help me get it transferred! I was blown away by the service. Cute little store with a hobby lobby type feel (as far as decor) lots of cute things to look at. Things are a little pricey, as you'd expect and I did have a weird encounter with the price tag (cashier removed it as she typed it in and it was more than I remembered it being‍ but can't always trust my memory these days). Mr. Stan Lee is not just an amazing pharmacist, but is a truly caring individual. When he became aware some of my struggles, connecting with the doctor, he reached out on my behalf to get it taken care of. I moved my prescriptions to Nelson's last year; the staff is excellent and I like doing business in my community. The owner and principal pharmacist, Stan Lee, told me today he will not fill my prescriptions because I have lousy insurance, and he is losing money on filling them. I called SCAN, maybe not the best insurance company in the world, and they told me Nelson's is a preferred pharmacy, and he signed a contract with them that sets the prices. Maybe Mr. Lee should be a little better at negotiating with the insurance companies, but that failure is not mine. Lesson learned it is a sad situation when the owner of the business is the one hurting his own customers, employees, and community. read more

The Lees, Stan and Jeff, own this store. Stan, the father, has told me that he WILL NOT fill my prescriptions. When Stan gets overwhelmed because there are several customers in the store and the phone rings, he becomes belligerent. Jeff has little to no customer service skills; he doesn't talk to the customers when they come in. Any questions have to be asked of whichever woman is at the counter, who then goes around the shelf and asks the same question of Jeff. Both of them have told that if I don't like the way they do business, I can go somewhere else to get my prescriptions filled. I did. read more

I moved to Glendora about a year ago. The pharmacist was one of the first Glendoran's I had met and introduced me to the wonderful activities and goings on of this beautiful, quaint little town. I am a firm believer in soliciting small businesses in your hometown or the city you work in, and boy did I luck out!!! This drug store has never been out of any medication I have needed, they refill my prescriptions more promptly than any other pharmacy I've done business with, and they are by far the nicest, polite, most professional, and compassionate staff I've ever had the pleasure of dealing with. In addition to the pharmacy they have a wide variety of non-prescription remedies. They also have a lovely gift shop in the front with many unique items, some of which are hand-made or on consignment. Everyone is eager to help serve you. read more

Went to this Pharmacy today for the first time. I was referred by my doctor to get a hand held nebulizer because I have pneumonia. Instantly I thought what a cute home town feeling pharmacy. People would come in and the ladies that worked there knew people by name, I was like hey I really like this place. Then everything flipped when the pharmacist couldn't figure out what he needed to do to bill my insurance for the nebulizer. I told him I would call my insurance company get it figured out and call him back. I called him back within 30 mins with the information my insurance company gave me. He sounded irritated that he was going to have to call them. Two hours later I called him back to check. He said I told you I would call you back when I got the information. I said ok thank you I will be waiting for your call my doctor really wanted me to have this today. 30 mins later he called me back and said some bs about my insurance telling him that they needed a little more information like diagnosis code from doctor etc. I told him ok I can get that for you in the morning from the doctor. He says to me no I am going to pass you should just try and get it somewhere else! Seriously! What a jerk. He didn't even try to help me. He didn't even try to offer me one to purchase or be helpful at all. He was Soo rude! I will never ever go back in there again. read more
