I strongly recommend texting Lisa at the text number she leaves in the voicemail as she is quick to respond. Sadly Nelson Weed doesn't service our area (mostly Peoria), but Lisa was able to recommend me to someone in my area who could help out. I've been a customer for several years. They come and spray my property of 1 plus acres once a year for weed control. I've always been impressed by their friendliness, excellent customer service and outstanding quality. I've always known that they guarantee their work but have never had to call them on it. But with this years recent experience I feel compelled to give them a shout out. We've had a good El Nino year and the rain fall has been at par, so have the WEEDS. I called them and they booked an appointment within a few days. Per normal they showed up on time, performed the work to their usual excellent standards. But here's where they go over the top. The weather has been cold, which usually stunts the kill rate of the weeds. That said it had been less than two weeks. The weeds were dying but maybe not as rapidly as normal. I wasn't particularly concerned. But then I received a call from Nelson, saying their technician was in our neighborhood that noticed that our weeds were not dying out as quickly as they expected. She indicated that if they aren't dead within another week to call them and they will come back out to respray. Now that's excellent customer service! read more

I used Nelson's for weeds about 6 months ago. They came out as a last minute fill in, due to a cancellation, and sprayed front and back, of the 1 acre property I live on. They did not have a bill for me since I was a fill in, but I got a text telling me how much I owed. Payment made! Fast forward - I'm getting weeds, called office. Got answering machine numerous times! After 4th or 5th call, I was finally given a call back. Ir took 3 weeks to get an appointment, meaning U called for 3 weeks as no one was getting back to me! Appointment made for a Friday at 2pm Received a text at 1130 that someone would be there at 1230! I'm at work and no where near my home. I texted the tech and says my appt was at 2 so did I need to rush home?? Botton line, he had a cancellation and didnt want to wait around. I needed to be there to let them in the back. The office person just blew it off and said they would reschedule. When asked if I would get a call back that day, she said no, more like the end of the month! Now looking at about 2 months to get appt. Guy came over and did the front, then I'm informed they wouldnt spray the pavers! I wasnt told that previously. Now she starts texting me, telling me I signed a contract! Contract? I never got a contract! She insists I did but cant produce a copy when I ask for it. Remember, they didnt even have a bill for me the day they originally came out. My backyard is locked up because I have dogs, but now shes telling me I gave grass and not weeds in my backyard! How would she know what I have? Very rude woman, telling me I'm being mean?? WTF? I'm the customer! Horrible customer service and follow up. Canr believe this company and how truly inept they all are, including the technician and office girl. Very immature! Cost me $420 but I'll notify my credit card company to gave charges reversed. Our neighbor and I paid for weed protection for six months as we do not live in our homes full time. Our neighbor negotiated the cost for the six months of weed protection from $175.00 to $150.00 each. The previous year she paid $120.00. We saw several weeds that were stretching across our porch from our Ring camera and these were the weeds that they sprayed. When we arrived at our home and called Lisa to request that they come and inspect and respray. Our six month guarantee was not up for a couple of weeks. Lisa advised that since it was so close to the six months that if we wanted to pay $175.00 for a repray they would come out. Lisa advised that they really do not have a six month guarantee and she refused to respray just the weeds that were growing, not the whole yard. We needed same day service for a vacation rental home and they were the only company to respond quickly and provide service within hours as I stressed it was an urgent situation. I have nothing but great thing to say about Nelson weed and pest control. They have reasonable prices and are reliable. Tyler is here at the times he is supposed to be and the day like clock work. They are very personable and friendly. They really take the time to know their customers needs. We live near a wash that is notorious for scorpions. Before Nelson weed and pest I would find a scorpion in the house every month. But now with Nelson's Pest control I haven't seen one in months. We also had a bee hive form and they were the next day to take care of it. I would highly recommend to anyone looking for a weed and pest control service. read more

I've used Nelson for over 5 years now at two different homes. Their tech's are great and I've never had an issue with their spray or anything. On several occasions the customer service from their office has been less than acceptable. Whether it's not returning my call when I need to schedule service or texting me to remind me of service or taking me off rotation, then rudely blaming me for it when I was told it was up to me when I wanted service. Just not very customer friendly and after having several times having to deal with it and the attitude I decided to go elsewhere. read more

Excellent service, excellent customer service. Family owned, very comfortable with staff being in my home even when home alone. First company I've found since I moved 10 years ago that has given consistent service and I saved 30% on my service! I have seen nothing in my yard since they took over - we can enjoy our patio again. Office staff is very pleasant and accommodating when I've had to make a schedule change.
