I rented on South St in Danbury and this was one of the worst rental experiences I've ever had. From the beginning, communication was inconsistent, but things became much worse when serious issues started happening. Attempts to get help or answers were often ignored, delayed, or brushed off entirely. Maintenance was handled in an unprofessional and careless way. When the water heater broke, Brittany sent her uncle instead of a licensed professional. He attempted to fix it with his nephew, and it still didn't work--the water heater actually broke twice in the same day. Even after that, the system never functioned properly. The shower would only stay warm for about three minutes, making it difficult to wash properly. The temperature was turned up, but the water would still go cold almost immediately. Other appliances were in similar condition. The dishwasher malfunctioned and flooded the kitchen, damaging my personal property. Instead of properly fixing or replacing things, it felt like everything was just "patched" or bandaged rather than repaired the right way. Both the dishwasher and water heater were ongoing problems that never seemed to be fully resolved. When my belongings were damaged as a result, the response I received was essentially dismissive. There were also ongoing concerns about how access to the apartment was handled. There were times they would show up unannounced requesting access to my unit while I wasn't home, which felt invasive and unprofessional. Yet when I was home and actively dealing with issues, Brittany and Mary Lou showed little interest in sending licensed professionals to properly address the problems. There were also transparency concerns. When I asked for the landlord's name, I was told it was "an entity," which felt evasive. I later had to look into public records myself to identify the actual ownership. On top of that, the financial handling at move-out felt excessive and unfair. They took more than half of my security deposit, even though they knew it had been donated to me by a Catholic church and were aware of my situation. I was also charged $380 for eight "broken" blinds and $350 for what was described as one person doing work, which felt unreasonable--especially considering the condition of the unit and how maintenance issues were handled throughout my tenancy. There were also serious issues with communication and consistency. At one point, I was late on rent due to an emergency surgery for my cat. I was told in writing not to worry about the late fee, but later I was penalized anyway and it ultimately contributed to me being forced out. That kind of contradiction made it very difficult to trust anything that was said. Throughout my time there, it felt like tenant concerns were treated as an inconvenience rather than something that mattered. Problems lingered, there was little accountability, and the overall environment felt stressful and unsupported. I would strongly caution anyone considering renting here. Get everything in writing, follow your lease strictly, and don't rely on verbal assurances. Based on my experience, I would not recommend renting this property. read more

Nejame and Sons has cared for our pool for 27 years. Most recently they handled the aftermath of the August 18 storm. This was a complex difficult project. The Nejame team has been astoundingly responsive, caring, and professional. Quite simply, I absolutely trust and respect Eddie Nejame and all of his people. There are many contractors and vendors I like and appreciate, but Nejame & Sons are so much more. If you have a pool or are considering one, you can't go wrong with Nejame & Sons. Jim and Anna couldn't have been nicer or more helpful. I even put my hubby on FaceTime with them to go over a few instructions. Awful, they have no problem charging you ridiculous amounts of money (tens of thousands of dollars) for below average work. When something goes wrong they don't care and don't even return your phone call. Stay away. Company was good when Tom ran it, not anymore. It's funny reading these reviews, Ed will come on here on the bad reviews and turn it around on the customer instead of trying to make his company's mistakes right. Poor communication and requirements to work with them. Make you buy a $500 gift card just to open your pool. Had an issue with our heater which the first technician just assumed had something wrong with it but said "it would be too much work to open it up right now to inspect what's really going on". Had his boss call to say they could bypass the heater after we got it filled up but they never actually scheduled the appointment to do so, just randomly showed up at our house and starting doing work on our property while nobody was home. Also called and asked if I could purchase a pool skimmer from them to be dropped off/delivered and the service rep said she didn't know how much it would cost and had to get a quote from her boss because of the hookup involved in it?!? She said she was just doing her job. Still never heard back on how much a skimmer would be and if it could be delivered. Terrible experience all around. read more

I have been a customer of Nejames for more than 15 years. They put my pool in and have serviced it since. They are expensive but knew what they were doing, had my trust, until the past four to five years. They were never that service friendly but the service in opening the pool has degraded to abysmal. SERIOUS ISSUES. After they took the tarp off the pool, they left metal closures that hold the tarp in place, elevated, where one could trip over and get injured. They wanted to charge for coming back to screw them down. Last year Nejames serviced the pool motor, and the filter. The motor did not work properly when they put it in and they left without saying anything. Within one day it shut off. They wanted to charge a lot of money to come out to look at it. I had a private electrician service it and he immediately discovered the motor was changed to 110 and not 220. The motor eventually died. Ed Nejames did not take it seriously and just gave me the 100 dollars I spent for the electrician. I paid over 1,000 dollars for a new motor. Last year they also came out without the filter they serviced over the winter, and the service men harassed me telling me I had the filter. I did not. Customer service said I had the filter. They finalllllllly realized their mistake but no apologies. When there is an issue, customer service is just as abysmal. They argue with you. I do not want to argue. I want to be treated with respect. Customer service might have been with Nejames a while but they need to be trained. It is not Ed Nejames you are supposed to please, but the customer read more

Today i tried to schedule a service call to balance and clean my pool and the lady flatly told me they are booked for the year. She refused to renew my contract although she never sent a renewal. I wish I had better things to say about my experience. I got their information from the hot tub manufacturer. I called Nejame to see if they could fix my hot tub- and the service department immediately dismissed me. It wasn't until I called the hot tub manufacturer Again and they called that Nejame offered to help me. Then they quoted me over $100 for just shipping to ship a Small electrical part to me. They really do not seem to care about customers. Someone with an older hot tub could easily be looking to buy a new hot tub. These guys are are not great. Terrible experience after being a customer since 2019. Had my pool opened by them, which I have done in years past, stayed with them even though I felt their prices for pool openings were high for what was done. After this year, I'm done.. paid over $700.00 for a pool opening, the tech pretty much just pulled the cover off, dumping leaves in my pool and put my filter back. My pool is the color of a tea bag and after 3 straight days of trying to vacuum all the dirt and leaves out, I gave up. I had to hire another company to come fix it. The water was tested and there were NO chemicals in the pool, the tech took my chorine tabs, threw 2 in the basket and called it a day. When I called to discuss it, "service department" sent a message saying it was my responsibility to clean the leaves off they "don't do that", they also don't "clean, touch the stairs, or anything else" that is a separate charge, I still have no answer of exactly what I paid over 700.00 for as they don't "do" anything else. Found a new company, it's been two days of them fixing this, 300.00 later, and while it's an expensive lesson for me, I found a new company read more

I had to replace my vinyl liner and cover 3 years ago and upgraded from chlorine to salt cell. Ed was terrific explaining all options and pricing for our in ground 16x34 30 yr old pool. Nejame is a family owned business and they stand behind their work. Showed up on time and stayed until the job was done. We've enjoyed our pool everyday and their lab testing is spot on with recommended treatments during the season. I cannot say enough good things about Ed Nejames. We had a horrible experience with a low budget outfit that closed our pool incorrectly and caused us to have to resurface the entire pool. While getting quotes to do the job, the pool motor got blown by lightening. I called Ed and asked him if he could help. He had me out taking snap shots of it with my phone and was calling vendors while he had me on the phone. He had the whole thing sorted and my new motor was installed the next day.
