Stopped in at Neighbors for hotdogs before a concert recently and cannot wait to get back! Awesome atmosphere and chill spot for some drinks and dogs. Got the Chicago dog and a Seattle dog, add bacon, with a side of fries. The dogs were both delicious and would highly recommend anyone give a try. Never have had a Seattle dog, so was cautious going into it, but boy was I glad I got it. The combo of cream cheese, jalapeños, and onions was so good, and decided to add bacon as well and it took it over the edge! The fries were phenomenal as well so overall a fantastic meal. Already looking forward to our next visit! read more

What a nice little surprise in Greensboro! I've been wanting to try neighbors for a while now and so glad I got the chance a few weeks ago. I love that they are in downtown GSO but have their own parking lot - that's a huge plus right off the bat. Their space is small though, expect to stand if they're busy or try to get there early enough to snag a table outside. My friends and I ordered through the outside window which worked perfectly - you ring the bell to order and they text you when your order is ready. Their menu is also small but mighty. So many delicious, unique options to choose from and they have daily specials. Although I didn't get to try a cocktail (next time!) I thoroughly enjoyed my food. I got the bird dog on special that included sun dried tomatoes, balsamic drizzle, and fresh basil. And it's only $4. What a flavor bomb I tell ya. I also ordered the deviled eggs and they are everything I want in a deviled egg - pickled eggs and a creamy center. These may be the best deviled eggs I've ever ordered from anywhere. I also got the buffalo tenders and the chicken was cooked nicely, the buffalo sauce had a nice spice but not overwhelming, and they have the goooood ranch (iykyk). My entire meal was only $18. I did, however, have to take a piece of key lime pie home and omg so good! Do not skip dessert here! Overall this experience has me telling everyone they need to pay a visit and I'm already looking forward to returning and trying more of their menu! read more

I've been here numerous times for drinks with friends but never eaten here and I had to take a second to brag. These hotdogs were incredible. Topped with the freshest ingredients and everything was packed on that dog!!! The fries were perfectly salted and crispy. The ranch was also great. My friend ordered the burger and loved it as well. I will 100% be eating here again. The ambiance is unmatched and vibes are immaculate read more

Expensive$$ Ordered 2 hot dogs, BLT, fries and two drinks. Cost over $50. Food was mostly good, fries were hot, Chicago dogs were true to style and taste was good. BLT had a thick cut heirloom tomato that was unripe and at $14 for a sandwich, it needs to be ripe. Decor is interesting. As you walk in the door there is a old picture you would find in your grandmothers house of Jesus doctored up holding a footlong hotdog. Not sure if they were mocking him but pretty distasteful. Another sign welcoming "Pride" if your into that.. read more

For me this summer could be labeled the summer of the hot dog, or alternately the summer of the burger - more on that in another review, a burger review, of course. As to the hot dogs, I ranged from the Raleigh area (Roast Grill, Char Grill, Snoopy's, Cloo's), Shorty's in Wake Forest, through Durham (Dog House, Kings, Jimmy's) on to the aways amazing Zack's in Burlington, will come back to Greensboro, on to Kernersville for Clark's BBQ and one of the Dairi-os, slide south to High Point (Oscar's, The Doghouse, & Tucker's Grill, and perhaps Little Roadside Grill, TBD). Then into God's hot dog country - Winston (Mr BBQ, Kermit's, Pulliam's, PB's, Joe's Take Out, and Hot Dog City) - WHEW! All of these are worth your consideration, now let's move on to this spot, perhaps a shinning light in what has been a hot dog waste land recently -Greensboro. This has not always been the case, of course. Yum Yum began operating in 1906, and is still offering hot dogs, ice cream, and Cheerwine. But the quality of the hot dog has decrease over the years - and I've eaten hot dogs here since the late 50's - opinions vary of course. There were several excellent hot dog spots in the Hamburger Square area of S. Elm, including California's and Jim's Lunch. Ham's had a great kraut dog, the American Legion Post on Saturdays, and Petty's out High Point Road had a great chili dog. These places are no more, and while there are some decent hot dogs around, there are NONE I would go to for just the dog except maybe Hinshaw UM Church on Tuesdays, until this place popped up recently! I went to try the dogs - chili and Chicago. I was not disappointed in the least, except for the neon colored relish on the Chicago, you should be ask to sign a waiver to have it included on anything you order or would consider ordering, or sitting at a space where it was ordered. read more

Neighbors food I think is highly slept on. Not sure whose in that kitchen, but hats off to them. It was very busy when we went, but ultimately we got our food and drinks very quickly. Everything ive ever had to eat here has been spot on. I recommend whatever special they are running. I got the hotdog special and a gin drink to accompany it. Always some good tunes playing in the background as well. read more

Fun, casual spot that knows how to do hot dogs. I had the Carolina dog and a Seattle dog - both loaded with toppings and big on flavor. The Carolina dog had that perfect combo of chili, slaw, and mustard, while the Seattle was a little more unique with cream cheese and jalapeños that actually worked way better than I expected. Must try! Service was quick and friendly. Great spot for a quick bite or late night snack with friends. The cocktails are also great! read more

Love the vibes, space, and nostalgia here. Food was great, I'll be back for those hot dogs and fries. I wasn't a fan of the deviled eggs. Tad too salty and taste like it's missing something. But that's me, I'll try again next time. But they look dope though, love the creativity. Service was super sweet and aware of my presence. Iyktyk I will be back!!! read more

If you find yourself at neighbors and you see a chili cheese dog..do yourself a favor and get some! It is absolutely delicious and reasonably priced. The staff are very friendly and it takes no time for your food to arrive. They have limited inside seating but with the nice weather outside there are plenty of spaces to chill outside. If you don't go inside they have a walk up window to order. Just ring the bell and someone will be happy to take your order. This is a great place to try! read more

My husband and I went to this little spot for some pre-game cocktails and food before the Grasshoppers game. The ambiance is small pub with backyard vibes. The deviled eggs were delicious. The drinks were poured generously and the service was attentive and efficient. Don't miss the Chicago dog and Porn Star martini!! The martini tasted like an orange Starburst- but not too sweet- it was balanced perfectly with a "side of bubbly". We tried a Chicago style dog for the first time and were pleasantly surprised! It was actually served just like the photo on the wall! Highly recommend for fun cocktails, backyard beer and casual eats! read more

Horrible. Ordered for a 630 pick up. Got a text before 5 ready for pick up. Tried to call. Mailbox full. Went to pick up after text and they did not care at all after we explained what happened. The food here is next-level good! Hands down the best spot for hot dogs and deviled eggs. The beef tallow fries are crispy perfection. They also offer a unique selection of drinks you won't find anywhere else, plus creative food specials that keep things exciting--last night's was a hot dog topped with watermelon, feta, and mint (surprisingly delicious!). Service is fast and friendly, and the bartenders make you feel right at home. The space is small but cozy, with a fun, eclectic vibe inside and a nice patio to enjoy outside. read more

This was our first time checking out neighbors . We were in the area with a couple of friends looking to have a drink. Pulling up to Neigbors there is decent size parking lot directly in front of the place as well as other parking near the street. Walking up to go inside are outdoor seating areas by the front entrance. I felt like Neighbors had a good positive atmosphere. The layout of the colors also pop. Clean restrooms. The staff were prompt to attend and food order was quickly brought out. We went with a couple of shrimp rolls and an order of deviled eggs. The shrimp rolls were topped with fresh slaw and flavorful shrimp. The deviled eggs were also really good and looked cool with the pink color. For my drink I had the Burial Surfwax IPA, it is canned but the bar tender gave me an ice cold glass. read more

Neighbors was desperately needed. Downtown GSO has a lot going for it, but it's not always easy finding a decent bite to eat after hours. Neighbors solves that dilemma. Nestled in a nexus between residential and downtown settings, Neighbors provides incredible bites and legendary cocktails. The food ranges from classic takes on the Chicago Dog all the way to decadent chopped cheeses and stunning Sunday Sauce. And the beef tallow fries...are you sad McD's isn't open that late? No fear. Just head to Neighbor's. The staff is comprised of local industry folks who had a need and saw an opportunity to provide Greensboro something it was sorely lacking. Everyone is friendly and fast--you can tell they all love having a late-night hotspot under their name. I would too! read more

Neighbors is a real cool place that encompasses a great neighborhood bar with unique decor , drinks, and creative food options. They make you feel at home. I've visited twice and was impressed by all the vintage decor , the excellent bartenders and tasty food. I would give them a five rating if they offered the chop cheese sandwich everyday instead of one day a week. It's an awesome sandwich that is different in that it's ground beef with fixings on a nice sub roll and tastes like a really good hamburger. The hot dogs are good quality with good chili and the Chicago dog really shines. The fries are a must try. They have a wide variety of beverage selections from beer to well crafted cocktails. The music is great and adds to a very nice atmosphere. read more

Ordered a Seattle dog at 7:42pm. Still waiting at 8pm. This is ridiculous. I would never come back here. Why is a hot dog taking 20 minutes? It's literally the easiest food on earth. Update: received hot dog at 8:08. Nearly 30 minutes. That's a hard pass for me. The dog wasn't even that good either. read more

Neighbors was recommended to me by a friend. Although I did not know it, I walked in as soon as it opened. Which was great because it allowed me to comfortably take pics of this hidden gem. It's a small spot, but they also have outdoor seating. The bartender was nice enough. He helped me through the drink menu, and gave his opinion on the food options I was torn between. I ordered a Motor Daddy (bourbon cocktail), and crafted a hotdog. I added a side of fries as well. I loved it all. The fries reminds me of the old school McDonald's fries. I'm ready for the weather to make up its mind, so I can enjoy this spot outdoors. read more

This might be a first for me - updating a review for a single item - a sandwich. One of my top 5 sandwiches ever... Now let me tell you a story. Once upon a time, a person (me) walked into Neighbors. Besides the delightfully kitschy atmosphere, there was always a great vegetarian (ovo lacto) option. Time passed and the person (me) saw a post on the 'gram (as the kids probably don't say) which led the person (still me) to a preview of the winter menu. On that post was an Eggplant Parmigana sandwich. It was full of huge slices of eggplant, battered in Parmesan Cheese, and covered in cheese and sauce, on a bun. As a native New Yorker (Queens), this variation could have been offensive - but no. It looked very interesting. I (I mean the person) headed over to Neighbors (I literally walk out the back door of my house, make a left and it's about 2 1/2 blocks) and grabbed two of these. I didn't know what to expect when they handed me the bag of sandwiches and headed home. Sure I planned to eat them the next day, but I decided to take a bite of the first sandwich. Children, let me tell you, it was not like the traditional pizza joint eggplant parms. It had less sauce than the pizza joint parms (which led Neighbors to offering a side cup of sauce) but it was a perfect sandwich. 10/10. That huge sandwich was finished in one sitting, the second one was lunch the next day. I headed over a few nights later and people were raving about this sandwich-prompting one person to turn to their friend and ask if they've ever had an Eggplant Parm before... So what I am saying is, go get one - but if they're about to sell out - ask them to text me so I can run over and get one before they're sold out that night! I would share a picture but the sandwich never seems to sit still and always ends up in my belly before I can snap a photo. read more

I went here with one of my friends just looking for potentially a late night spot to eat and I was delighted to see they had vegetarian options especially this late at night! The staff were super friendly and helpful with helping us pick out what to order! I got a Chicago dog but substituted with a veggie dog and my friend had a chicago dog as well without any substitutions and we wanted to try their pink deviled eggs which ensued in some hilarity between us and the staff when it came out because they executed it so well, they had turned the eggs pink using beets and it was pretty good! Came for the food and stayed for the vibes!!!! I have been to Neighbors twice now, once for a pop up (with bandito burrito) and another time to try their actual food. Both times I went in the evening turned night, so I was able to get a feel for their dimly lit, smooth jam vibes. I am absolutely in love with their pink exterior, plant filled patio, and quirky, eclectic interior aesthetic. Where else can you double fist with a single drink order?!? I'll come for the porn star 2 for one drink any day! It was delicious and gave me a nice little buzz (I'm not a light weight!). I've also tried their "Dirt Don't Hurt" drink with matcha which I found to be on the bitter side yet still intriguing. I also tried my friend's "dad bod", which not sure how it got its name but I guess I love dad bods because it sure was delicious!!! For food I have tried their Seattle Dog and Chili Cheese Fries. Both were very good and the chili cheese fries were big enough for 2 of us to share as a side. The tasty homemade chili was giving meaty southern chili with a sliiight hint of cinci chili sweetness. For dessert I had the key lime pie which I'm not sure if they make in house but it is a must get!!! This place also has regular events like water color nights, so it's a great place to chill and maybe meet someone new!!! read more

My boyfriend took me here as a pregame for dinner around the block, and I was pleasantly surprised! Neighbors has a hipster, laid-back, yet intentionally weird but unique vibe. We were there just for drinks, but I would love to stop by again to try the food, which seems like a great place to have a nightcap lol. Great place for a date or catching up with friends too. I could even see this place being a speakeasy if they figured out a clever entrance, or maybe having people enter through the kitchen through a fake refrigerator door or something. There is a ton of variety on the drink menu, and I had a hard time choosing which one I wanted! Must mean that I'll have to come back. There was also a small insert in the menu for a special drink, the mall karate, and proceeds of it went to send one of their bartenders, ryan, to Portland for a competitive cocktail competition/convention. When we heard about that, we definitely wanted to help out and ordered the mall karate, which happened to sound delicious too. I would recommend that a small description about Ryan's trip be included, because at first without asking, we had no idea why there was a person named Ryan going to Portland lol. But was excited to help out when we learned about it! We went with a mall karate, and I had the pornstar martini. Also Arnold Palmer jello shots for $2? Count me in! This little cutie is a gem. Their crafted cocktails are top notch... strong and tasty! Outdoor + indoor seating options in a chill and vibe-y little downtown spot... with a designated parking lot!! No paying and searching to park. Whew! We enjoyed the hot dogs and fries... to accompany our drinks. The dogs are pink (and delicious) for all you folks who get weirded out. Fries were a straight dupe of McDonald's heavenly sticks. The drinks were so good we couldn't stop. We started with the Pornstar Martini and Yachts on the Reg, then moved to the Dangerously Unskilled. Pornstar is served as a cocktail + a side car of Champagne! You'll be feeling it. The Yacht is a clear strawberry daiquiri served chilled... deliciously smooth. Then the Dangerously Unskilled is basically a watermelon Margarita... with a spice on the backside (white pepper). Finished it off with a classic Pina Colada for dessert. Bartenders are so helpful and made us feel right at home from the second we walked in. We sat outside at a picnic table under the fan and enjoyed the perfect summer evening! read more

I am SO incredibly excited to write this review! Neighbors is just what downtown Greensboro needed! Located directly behind Joymongers (but has its own convenient parking lot off Simpson Street), Neighbors is a fun, eclectic (and gives off a Florida vibe) bar with a limited menu of hotdogs, brisket, and other traditional barbecue or cookout items. My friend and I have been dying to try this place and finally had a chance on a Wednesday evening. We stopped in about 6:30, and the crowd was light but steady. We each tried a few different cocktails and loved them all! The cocktails are elevated, original, yet fun spins on traditional drinks like a daiquiri or margarita. We tried the following drinks (love the names!) Pornstar Martini Dangerously Unskilled Dumb Starbucks (try it with regular tequila if Mezcal's not your jam) Yachts on the Reg Late Night Slices at Sticks (which inspired us to do just that!) Each cocktail has its own unique flavor, and they were so tasty we came back after dinner for a nightcap. We did not try the food on this visit as we were craving pizza, but I definitely will in the future. I love the takeaway window and that the whole establishment is opened until 2am. Not that I typically stay out that late, but it seems like most places close so early nowadays so this is a nice option. The bartenders were super fun and friendly, and offered their advice for drinks to try. Highly recommend stopping in at this fun spot when in the downtown area! read more

Can not even believe I have visited Joymongers twice and never knew this perfect diner/cool meetup/fun eating spot is actually their "neighbor" ! The couple we were with told us they were going to eat here for his birthday because they loved the fries and I was like "for real?" Until I ATE THE FRIES !!! I threw my diet right out the door after I tried the first fry; yes they are cooked in beef tallow but I think thats good for increasing speed of brain synapses...anyway, my grilled cheese on sourdough was causing us mouthgasms...crunchy, toasted bread (really large) and came with tomato soup that must have had some cream cheese or melted parmigiana in it also. The bacon in my friends sandwich was 1/2 inch thick ! Really want to go back for a hot dog, didn't get a photo of the one my friend had but he ordered two because it was that good. I swear, this place brought us back to the fun nights out hanging with friends in the 80s. Not as good as the first year they opened. Ambience = a cool, local little joint. Servers are friendly. Cocktails are still bangin' but the sandwiches (other than the dogs) leave something to be desired. BBQ? Gone. The VERY popular Italian beef sandwich? Gone. In its place are some bland options. The pork sandwich is fairly tasteless and dry. Needs to lose the broccolini and add something more flavorful. What about a Rueben? A chicken cheesesteak? What about some cool Sloppy Joe options? You do not have to recreate the wheel to keep yourselves fresh. And damn....bring the Italian beef back! If its about the price, add a $1 or $2! read more

That's a huge plus for me. But really quick I want to talk about the food. Run, don't walk. Get the beef tallow fries! Yes! They taste like the old school McDonald's fries. I'm an 80s baby so this was before the non trans fat stuff. It was amazing and so nostalgic. Also the bacon, egg, and cheese was to die for. I love they are using thick cut bacon. It made my heart sing. It was so good. Neighbors have quality food and if you follow their IG they will post specials during the week. You don't need to be tipsy to enjoy but if you are, that's okay too. They do serve food late which is a plus. I'll report back with what I try next.
