Vegetable Samosa 2 Pcs Chicken Tikka Masala (Neelam Special) Butter Chicken (Chicken Makhni) Lamb Biryani Garlic Naan Cheese Naan

We ordered to go since we were hosting love island but this was our first time ordering here since we just moved near by and let me tell you! The portions look small but they're more than filling for 4 and it was just fantastic all around I can't wait to order again also thank you for being friendly to order from.

Got takeout, but the place looked nice inside. Order was ready on time. Food was decent, well executed north Indian fare, but nothing was mind blowing.

BH restaurant week Chicken Tikka Masala (Neelam Special)

Let me start of with the end: they brought the credit card processor to the table - for us to take care of the bill. Our credit card never left the table. So amazing, so worldly, so safe. This is how checks should be paid. Thank you for having this system. Since under new ownership, the place is now charming, clean, the food is delicious, and the owner is so nice and accommodating. We visited during Berkeley Heights Restaurant Week, and our specials were phenomenal. It was a trial platter of two veg and one meat sauce, naan, rice, chicken masala, and dessert. If you're two smaller eaters, you could even split one tray. We'll be back soon.

Aloo Gobi Masala

The butter chicken ($17) was rich and delicious with tender boneless chicken. The naan was good and a bit thin rather than puffy. The chicken tikka ($18) was very marinated and more of a dry rub but good. There were 7 pieces on a bed of grilled vegetables, so it was good value. The aloo gobi ($14) was yummy and on the sweeter side. It had more potato than cauliflower. The service was really slow because there was only 1 person waiting on the entire restaurant. They really need to hire a second waiter. The food is very good, although not quite as good as originally. Excellent food and poor service, so I'd return for the lunch buffet when we can serve ourselves.

Delicious food, cooked and spiced just right! We had chicken tikka masala, goat biryani, naan, rice, and a mango lassi.

I love this place and have been thinking about it ever since I went. Delicious food and good service. My only complaint is that it's Sunday and it doesn't open until 4 pm.

Food was pretty good. Garlic naan was tasty so was the roti. Got the butter chicken and paneer masala. The portions were very skimpy and for the price we won't be back sadly.

Meat (lamb) Samosa with Tamarind Sauce

A simple twist of fate led us to the front door of Neelam Indian Cuisine in Berkeley Hts. We had the pleasure of meeting the owner, Kunal Sharma, who is the nephew of the Original owners of Neelam. His uncle sold the place to the previous owners untill Kunal left corporate America to buy back Neelam to continue the legacy that his uncle started in 1984. Upon entering you are greeted with the intoxicating aroma of exotic spices as well as a heartfelt Hello from Kunal and his staff, some of whom, I assume, are family. We dove into the menu and ordered our goto dishes which were: Meat (lamb) Samosas - delightfully flaky and filled with ground lamb, peas and warm spices served with a tamarind dipping sauce. Chicken Tikka Masala - despite it's Scottish origin by an Indian Chef, Chicken Tikka Masala has become the General Tso's Chicken of Indian Cuisine. It's on every Indian menu in the US because its delicious and embodies everything you expect from Indian cuisine. Neelam's rendition is excellent and notably savory without the inappropriate sweetness I've experienced from other Indian restaurants. Lamb Vindaloo - my personal favorite! Tender pieces of lamb in a fiery tomato based gravy with Potatoes. This was as good a Vindaloo as I've ever had, again, due in part to the lack of sweetness that I find unappealing from other places. We also had 2 different Naan, served piping hot from the tandoor oven - one plain and one Garlic Chili. A wonderful vessel to scoop up the delicious gravies of the chicken and lamb. Neelam Indian Cuisine is located at: 295 Springfield Ave Berkeley Hts, Nj 07922 908-665-2215

Chicken Tikka Masala (Neelam Special)

The restaurant is very well decorated and clean. As soon as I came in, Tony was very friendly and took my order immediately . I ordered chicken Tikka masala, the food was DELICIOUS!!!! The portions were more than enough and price was very reasonable. I am very surprised why this restaurant only have 3.8 stars. This was a great experience. If you are in the area you should give it a try.

I've loved this restaurant for years however the food has gone downhill. The dishes are not as flavorful as they once were.

Sonny takes cares of every single guest from seating, to small chats, to recommending what's good. My family had a great time here. This restaurant has BYOB. We had mix nonveg platter, hara kabab, butter chicken, kofta, and fig kulfi every thing was fresh and flavorful. I highly recommend this place to anyone looking not only for great food but an amazing host as well.

Posted a tepid Yelp critique. Hours later, Sonny had dug out my private cell # and texted and left vm's repeatedly for two days. Badgered, I removed the review. Since, I've seen only a few negative reviews on here for Sonny's. Strangely those few negative reviews were followed by Sonny's posted Yelp notes where Sonny did almost certainly what he did to me below: pretended in his post he tried to "make good" but actually did no such thing. Below see my experience. He posted he refunded me the outlandish $78 for a single person's dinner. Never did. Now getting Better Business Bureau involved. Let me show you how he operates. Cut to 4/11/26. Figured I'd give him a second chance after the February debacle. My 2nd Yelp review after 4/11/26 was actually incredibly positive albeit dancing around disturbing details. I did not describe what I saw that left me disturbed. The review didn't ask for a refund at all. He never called or text afterwards as he claimed he did in his posted note and I had not asked. Regardless, for some reason he posted this: SUNIL B. - "Business Owner" I was trying to extend the courtesy of apologizing you (sic). That's why I texted and called. A full refund has been sent to you. I don't need to invade anyone's privacy. Never asked for refund of his outrageous single person charge of $65.78 on 4/11. He neither called nor texted re 4/11 review. All fabricated. But where the Better Business Bureau is going to get involved is here: on 4/16 - five days after I ate there, after he posted he refunded me, Sonny charged an unauthorized HIGHER charge on my card for $77.78. That's no refund - that's fraud. Figured I wouldn't catch it. Unauthorized overcharges without notice to consumers violate the Consumer Fraud Act. Serious fines. Last and most importantly: the issue I was too civil in my 4/11 review to reveal was this: he repeatedly screamed at his staff. I saw it. I heard it. I put up with it. I saw his staff intimidated. All the patrons cringed. I despise abuse. We all do. Apparently all Sundil's pretend gracious host act is a farce. And I'm certain his screaming wasn't a one off. Abusive bullying behavior is rarely an isolated outburst. And you could see it in his staff: unsmiling, nervous, gun-shy. For that reason alone I'll never return. As for the fraudulent overcharge? Don't worry, dear reader. He's either going to repay me or others will force him to. And if you still improvidently decide to go here, do yourself a favor: check your card for weeks after. Avoid this place. This review is what Yelp is for: unmasking these kinds of abhorrent business practices.

Parking is always a challenge when heading to any restaurant in downtown, but since it was a weekday, we found a spot easily. The entrance and ambience are fabulous -- with Buddha statues placed at the entry and throughout the restaurant, and beautiful hanging red/lavender tree leaves adding a lot of charm Coming to food, as we were party of 7, we ordered * Kale Pakora * Bhindi Churi Muri: crispy, veryt thin slices of ladyfinger- good 4/5 * Lasooni gobhi *Tandoori Medley: mixed platter. Honestly, not sure why they'd include large chicken pieces here; felt like something borrowed from a buffet platter. The only items I liked were the mutton seekh kebab and prawns. *Gobhi Manchurian: too much sauce - 3/5 * Jhinga Masala: tomato-based gravy with prawns, nothing extraordinary, 3/5 * Bhuna Gost : nope, could not find the gravy... 2.5/5 * Lamb Biryani: average and disappointing, 2.5/5 * Eggplant Bharta * Gobhi Paratha, Tandoori Roti, Garlic Naan, Laccha Paratha * Jaljeera, Lassi, Lime soda To be honest, food was pretty average. Bharta and Bhuna Gosht definitely could've been better. It felt very hit or miss--none of the dishes really stood out Also, Portion was way less then what other restaurant serves! Service was good but again we were the only party there! they added 20 % gratuity by default Overall, I'd rate it 3 to 3.5/5 at best. I'll probably skip it next time unless they bring in something new. Bring some new flavor team, you are not offering anything new!

Flavor bomb burrata was amazing - on top of a naan, tomatoes and green garlic chimichurri with a fresh burrata and what was like a very sweet spicy honey on top - delicious. Sadly they were out of the truffle chicken masala. We opted for the butter chicken - also delicious and rich. Palak paneer - always nice to see the spinach version. Very good. Both were great with the garlic and butter naans... sopped up with the naan or rice, delicious. The 'Rarha' Lamb Chops were ok, overcooked until the bone crumbled so a bit hard to pick up, cutting it was a bit tough, and the mustard-tumeric potatoes were very good but heavy. BYOB. Menu completely online and somewhat hard to see -- bring a big phone. Street or muni lot parking. Servers were pleasant but often busy cleaning up - a bit of dropping things all night - customers knocked over their lights, dishes fell, glasses broke - I felt like it was a Jewish wedding with all the wares falling on the floor mid-way through dinner. Portions are solid and they also gave to-go bags for the leftover naan and boxes for the leftover dishes.

We stopped by Four Monkeys on a busy Friday night, and the place was packed, always a promising sign. Even with the crowd, parking wasn't an issue at all; Lot 3 is right nearby and there's plenty of street parking, which made getting in and out painless. Inside, the restaurant is on the smaller side, but they've managed to fit in a surprising number of tables without making it feel cramped. The lighting is dim and moody in a way that works well for the space, and the subtle monkey-themed decor is genuinely charming- playful but tasteful. Menus are all via QR code, and even the cutlery feels upgraded and fancy, adding a nice touch. Service was a highlight. The staff is friendly, helpful, and refreshingly honest as they guided us through the menu, prevented us from over-ordering, and offered thoughtful recommendations. For water, they give you options: tap, sparkling, or still. What we ordered: * Pili Mirch Paneer Tikka (appetizer) * Bandar Butter Chicken * Homestyle Bhuna Chicken * Garlic Naan (pro tip: the naans are huge, one is easily enough for two people) The paneer app was really solid, think paneer tikka with a definite kick, paired with some tasty dipping sauce, chutney, and even grilled pineapple. A fun combo and definitely one of the stronger dishes. The mains, though, both the butter chicken and homestyle bhuna chicken, leaned very much on the milder side. The sauces were more liquidy than expected, and they felt geared toward diners who prefer Indian food without the heat. With slightly less gravy and a bit more spice, both dishes could've been standouts. The garlic naan was fine, though more firm than the soft, melt-in-your-mouth style I usually prefer. Overall, I'd say Four Monkeys is a good try and a nice addition to Summit, but probably not my go-to Indian spot for the food alone. That said, the ambiance is great, the staff is wonderful, and it's worth a visit, especially if you're into milder Indian flavors or want a cozy, lively night out.

I usually default to lamb rogan Josh when I try a new place but have been hitting vegetarian entries since they can be amazing at Indian places and they absolutely are. The price point is decent, very similar to other Indian restaurants of this tier in Jersey. I'm glad they include the rice with the curry which helps the price. They serve papadams with onion, tamarind, and mint chutney to start. Again, I've seen more Indian places omit this or charge for it. But the vegetable Assorted Pakora ( battered and fried veggies) was not good at all. It was doughy and soft, not crispy at all and bland tasting. A total loss. Then the Spring Rolls were a pleasant recovery from that, nice sized, several with the order, and tasted good. The Chicken Pakora (battered fried chicken nuggets) was middle of the road, not too crispy, but the chicken was tender and enjoyable with the spicy dipping sauce. The Onion Kulcha (soft flatbread with onions, herbs and spices in it) was not bad, and went well with the main dish, which was Chicken Nargisi. This is chicken chunks in a spicy coconut milk sauce which was very good. This came with a very generous portion of basmati rice (huge portion, enough for 3-4 people as a side). The rice was aromatic, cooked correctly, not gummy at all. The coconut chicken was seasoned well, the chicken was tender with plenty of sauce. Also a large enough portion to make 2 meals out of it. The Samosas were the standout of the meal, highly recommended.
