I've visited 2-3 times, each time going well out of my way for NeeHee's food. Each time I've tried something new and have never been disappointed. Their food is quick and delicious. Definitely one is the best fast food Indian places in the area. They are purely vegetarian with vegan options as well. We had their gobi manchurian and grilled sandwich. Love this place even though I don't understand the menu. Everything I've ever had was great. It's all vegetarian food. So there's nothing you can't order from here if you are a vegetarian. Amazing food that I highly recommend. Got chole batura with mild spice and it was perfect. It had some heat for sure, even at mild, so be careful if you don't like food too spicy. The bread was hot, fresh and crisp to a perfection. If you enjoy the Chaldean food with rice and tomato-based (Riza Maraka) sauce then you will love this dish. First time going and found what I ordered to be very good. Rating is for food only. Excited to try more- but more likely carry out. It may be time to invest in a bigger space neehees . The place was not full, the wait was not out the door (maybe two people in line ordering) and my friend and I were asked if we were done and to leave. Awkward. I think if a place is busy when arrive, you have a choice to leave or wait. Disrupting people who are enjoying your food and having a normal dinner conversation is not good customer service. read more

I honestly don't know what all the fuss about this place was. I think it's just that I'm not used to this type of restaurant. You get a menu, order it at the counter, and then wait for your buzzer to go off. When it goes off you go get your food at the counter, but they don't wait for all your food to be done, they call you up as each piece is cooked. I prefer to get it all at once. I also wish there was more of a description of the menu items. We have never eatenvegetarian Indian street food before so we didn't know what most of the items were and had to Google them. As you can imagine, it took us a while to figure out what we wanted. And it seemed like most of the food was a variation on potatoes or chick peas. Tried once again, 1. dhokla - was dry inside, only top layer had seasoning, had to drink water to gulp it. 2. Veg Manchurian was ok but taste was not authentic, rice given along were white rice covered in oil, never had that before 3. Went here and had the gobi Manchurian and the ragda patties. Both full bodied in flavor and satisfying. I wish I ordered seconds with the gobi dish! I cannot wait to come back and try the rest of the menu. Cons: the seating arrangements are very odd. You get your seats, then immediately get in line to order food. There is literally a 'table overseer' to ensure your table is not taken. Secondly, the extensive menu on the wall has incredibly small lettering. At the back of the line you cannot read it, let alone take it all in by the time you are ready to place your order. I recommend getting a printed menu while waiting. Neehee's deserves to take all stars, but took off one star for the waiting time. Had to wait for 30 mins to get a table. Food was amazing, tried samosa ragada, Pav Bajji, Cut Mirchi and Falooda. Today was my first time eating here and overall it was great! I had the Thali mini which is served in a school cafeteria style tray and consists of a cup of lentil soup, pea & potato curry, curried green beans all served with basmati rice and 3 pieces of roti. Not bad for $7.99! In fact, I was so satisfied with my meal that I went back and ordered the vegetable pakora (8 pieces) to-go served with two different chutneys. I'll be eating this as a midnight snack later. They have quite a selection of vegan and vegetarian choices and they even have an Indo-Chinese menu. They also serve milkshakes and lassis. Considering I live in Ann Arbor, my go-to for vegan Indian food is Earthen Jar, but if it's a nice day and I'm up for a 20 minute drive to Canton, Neehee's will definitely be worth the trip. read more

I have been to Neehees a few times. You get a variety of Indian snack food here. I like the dosas, idlys, vadas, poori. They have good variety of icecreams and fesh sugar cane juice. Fairly priced Quick service Fresh Large and extensive menu for anything you can possibly imagine Cons - Small space VERY busy store, to the point where they have signs on tables asking patrons to leave immediately after finishing their meals (rude...very rude) Non-friendly service, no smiles or greetings - just order and sit your ass down, eat and get the eff out. My Indian neighbors introduced me to this place and man is it good. The Chole Bhature is the best I've ever tried. This place is always packed I don't know why they don't expand their business I'm sure they would do well wherever they expand to. The service is fast relatively compared to how busy they are. Where do I start in this terrifying experience. Besides the food being somewhat overpriced for its value, but I am not here to talk about the food but rather the extremely poor customer service provided. We always hear from time to time how Indian restaurants are known to provide poor customer service, but I typically give my own people the benefit of the doubt in this assertion. This experience put that stereotype to the top. Ok I came here for my birthday with my family, we ordered a ton of food, and I finished up eating. While my family was still finishing their food, I decided to get some carry out pizza next door from curry on crust, which is also owned by neehees. After I picked up the pizza, I went next door again to rejoin my family. However, as soon as I Sat down at our table, the slightly larger auntie with the glasses charges towards me and says I can't bring outside food into their place. I mentioned that I'm not eating it, and just picked it up to go. She said I don't care you can't bring it here very rudely and loudly and walked away. The kind gentleman at the neighboring table whisperly says "is she seriously not letting you bring that pizza into here, isn't it also owned by neehees anyway"? This fact I did not fully realize at first, but thought of how even besides that, how rude she was and how much she publicly embarrassed me in front of a full restaurant for just bringing in food I wasn't even eating there. So then I went up to the front counter and told her that it was not necessary to yell at me in front of my family and all the other customers for only bringing in food from their same company next door whom was actually closing so I I had to take it to go anyways. I had no choice but to bring it in to neehees, and I wasn't even eating it there! She simple replies "ok so what, that's the rules". She would not tell me who the manager was when I asked, and then she walks away. This was ridiculous, I have never received such behavior from normal restaurants. I'm not saying that she's incorrect entirely for me bringing the pizza in from their own restaurant next door, but it's the nature of how she handled the situation towards us a paying neehees customer. Uncalled for and probably never coming back. Used to be good. I would make it a point to drive there - some miles off way from airport in Detroit to lansing. Main incentive was it was vegetarian and one could get chat - in spite of the fact that it is,very expensive - especially for,street food!!. But the other items on the menu were good as well. However I find quality has been going downhill with the food and that is very disappointing. I think the ingredients are being short changed as well causing stomach upset? This place is SO good. The only problem is I wish it was closer to me. The menu is fantastic and they have pictures of everything on the menu. It is Vegetarian and so wonderful. The have so many choices. The Gobi Manchurian is a must try. It tastes just like General Chows Chicken, but it is cauliflower. What a cool place! I've only had Indian a few times and it was at a buffet style place in Southfield. This was my first experience ordering a meal. I got the Samosa Chaat (C14-SAMOSA CHOLE) and it was awesome! Had some heat, but not too bad. Also had a mango smoothie and it was delicious as well. The folks here were great.
