I have recently dicovered Kurrys, and it is a new favorite. The food tastes fantastic and is seasoned just right. I don't eat meat, but I have tried several of the vegetarian dishes, including the paneer tikka masala, the nilgiri veg curry, two different biryanis and (of course) the naan. The atmosphere was also cozy and comfortable, the service was prompt, and everything about my orders has always been correct. I can recommend Kurrys highly. read more

It's in the back of the strip mall. It's an old and dingy building and interior as well. The usual grub hub and annoying loud delivery dinging, again. We ordered gobi manchurian, channa masala, dosa, butter chicken and navratan korma. The front counter staff took our order, didn't need to write it down at all. Once again he came back to check the order after he put it into the computer and had ro check again to make sure we didn't want any rice or naan at all. The gobi is decently crispy, it's quite flavorful and spicy too. The dosa here is super long, nicely thin, super crispy, but a bit greasy. It's all good, crispy is better for me. The butter chicken is quire good, lots of chicken in the dish. The sauce is quite yummy. The navratan korma was disappointing. Not loving the stalks over broccoli in it, that's usually the part I leave behind. Not a lot of veggies as a whole. The Chana masala is okay, also not fond of the flavors too much. They do charge for credit card use and before the subtotal too, not cool with this process much. The waiter told me there is no CC charge if I pay with cash as he handed me our dinner bill. They use Square and there's a 3.5% charge from Square, but they told us they charge 4% for the use of a CC. Unreal. Poorly done. The posting we noticed as we left was on the plexi glass at the front counter, that we didn't see when we entered since there was a water bottle in the way and there was a guy at the front counter when we first walked in getting carry out. read more

One of my favorite biriyani places. As a vegetarian, I enjoy when they have eggplant or jackfruit biriyani, they are not in the menu but it's on their daily specials. They modify the spice levels. Some biriyani they can modify moisture level too. ( more curry). I have been doing takeouts, I am happy with what ever I have got so far. Cauliflower Manchurian - very good Veg Chettinad - very good Navaratna korma - too creamy for me. The Gongura biriyani is good but sometimes too dry.. The nan and kulchas are good and stay soft even after it cools down. Good when u do take outs. read more

Food is excellent, but beware a sneaky upsell. We had just paid for our dinner for four and gave a generous tip. The host said "would you like to have some cake?" He showed us the cake and asked "how many pieces would you like?" We said "two", and "thank you, that is very kind of you ". The hostess then rang us up for nearly $13. We went ahead and paid ..had the cake later, mostly wasted not very good. Anyway, lesson learned. Don't get suckered into a rip-off upsell. read more

Everything was delicious but my stomach started to rumble before I could get my dessert. If you've ever had your gallbladder removed then you know. But so I was in the restroom for awhile but when I returned to my table I was approached by a man when my waitress was clearly a woman and then he asked me was I ready to pay. The dessert was plainly sitting right in front of him on my table untouched but asked if I was ready to pay. The way I was approached made me feel uneasy. It must have made them uncomfortable for me to be in the bathroom so long and probably thought I was going to do a dine and dash which I can only imagine why they would think that but it just felt strange and so I told him I wasn't done eating and he said okay but I'm just not sure how to feel or why I was being rushed. This is a common issue. Also for it to still be winter, the air is on for some reason or it may just be super drafty in here and they have a heater in the floor when you first walk in. I always like the goat curry in kurrys compared to any other restaurants. Lollipop was excellent. Many restaurants doesn't have this on menu. Having this after long time. Food was OK until my daughter found a giant chili in the pakoras and then it went downhill from there. It hurt me to see how she was suffering because someone didn't do their job. She downed 2 Mango Lassi's without much help. It was unfortunate but completely avoidable. Food is not exceptional by any standards. South Indian food is better than North Indian dishes. Compared to Indian standards, South Indian food is par, North Indian food is below par. It's not a place to go eat out, more of a carryout (and that is what most of the desi crowds do anyways from what I noticed). Won't come again. read more

Another terrible experience here...they sent us home with ice cold gangur vijaywada paneer biryani..when I called ..he gave me some story of how the previous day was busy so apparently this was biryani was fresh! When we took it back he had a chicken biryani for us..then apologized again n made a new paneer biryani..which was just the same stale paneer biryani we returned over nuked in the mw!! Not happy with the extra charges that always appear on the bill before checkout and then when given the finally copy. This has happened at least 3 times so it is not a mistake. Last time we were a group of 7 so we figured it was gratuity but then we're told it was "additional taxes" that the worker won't receive so please leave additional cash as a tip! Also will say that they are adding a fee on when paying with a credit card, but the fee is already on the bill before you can even give them cash or card......so what is this for? The food is good but the interior needs some updates and HEAT! All the workers are wearing jackets because it is cold in there. The review is long over due.. I have been visiting this place for last 6-7months.. we were never disappointed.. For the Buffet, there will always be a very tasty fish item which we always enjoy and apart from regular Chicken Biryani, there will be a special 2nd Biryani, it was gongura Mutton once, other time it was some variation of chicken biryani, which was really flavourful.. tandoori items, fried chicken appetizers were always tasteful. This Friday I had Raju gari Kodi Palau which was perfectly done, along with their famous curry leaf chicken.. spice is on lower side for my appetite, but flavour is too good.. my wife and friends like their spice level.. Good and flavorful Indian food with reasonable prices. I've come here on multiple occasions and never had to wait. I'm a big fan of their gongura chicken biriyani and vijayawada gongura panner biryani, very flavorful and spicy hits the spot. We ordered the gongura chicken biriyani , butter chicken, garlic naan, mirapakaya goat mamsam. It was all delicious and moreover i strongly recommend you to try Shrimp chilli appetizer which is top notch. Can't believe I haven't written a review for Kurry's yet. They're lunch buffet is on par with the other Indian buffets in the area. The absolute shining star on they're menu is the Hyderabad chicken 65!! It is spicy and very very similar to the way they make it back home (in Hyderabad). I personally also really like the goat biryani. I think it's also pretty similar to the one we get at home. This is our standard carry out order from Kurrys and we get it at least once every 2-3 weeks. The rest of the food is nothing much to write home about. However, they seem to be rolling out some new stuff on their menu and I can't wait to try it. read more

The BEST Tandoori Chicken anywhere! I love the food here and the buffet is terrific. Been a regular here since 2013 and will continue to stop here every time I am in the area. A great variety for delicious food at the buffet. The staff is ok...not the friendliest but the food shines. The food here is the best Indian food I've eaten outside of India. There are many places to get Indian food in this area and in my opinion this is the best. The meal was served family style and the restaurant has the dhaba feel that I love so much about eating in India. Since it is family style it's a very economical choice for groups as one dish is easily enough for 3 or 4 people. There was so much food that after I was finished eating the staff feared that I didn't like it because there was so much left over, but quite the opposite. I loved it. Most recently I had onion pakoda and butter chicken with butter naan. The curry was so smooth and seasoned so well that I smiled the entire meal. The staff was very pleasant and ensured that I had a good experience. If you like authentic Indian food then you should try this place. read more

This is the second time I am writing a review for this place. I highly suggest that the owners of this place start recording the conversations over the phone, between customers and the receptionist of Kurry's. This gentleman who identified himself as Satish again was rude when I asked for more onions for the biryanis I have ordered. The order was pretty massive (131 USD), and in return he quoted, "well we did provide you onions the last time you asked for it." This proves that they do read our reviews on google and have paid ZERO attention in making improvements. A restaurant with good food and non professional staff can ruin their ratings, which is something they should ponder on. read more

Service may not be considered great so I would strip off a star for that but again, to make it clear I did not have any unpleasant feeling or rude reception. Having said that, my praise for food follows next. I ordered a veg biryani and Chef's special Chicken Curry. I'd give 5 star to each of them.. I was thoroughly impressed with the chicken curry.. I almost licked the bowl clean. Chicken was soft and nice while gravy was smooth, slightly spicy, little sweet and tasty. Biryani was aromatic and tasted really good. Very good weekend lunch buffets. The goat curry is my favorite and one of the best goat curries I've tried in the area. The biryani is also good but can be a hit or miss depending on the day. It's a small restaurant with a casual atmosphere. I have only tried the a la Carte menu a couple times and it is also pretty good. This review is for their Catering service. I recently threw a party for 180 people. After some back and forth with other members of my family, we decided to go with Kurrys for catering. This honestly was the best decision we took. Before deciding on Kurrys we shopped around a little bit and found Kurrys to not only have the best price among the restaurants in that area but also one of the partners, Satish, was the most approachable. I received a call back on the same day, had an extensive discussion regarding the menu, some very good suggestions as well as a quick tasting session. Everything and everyone was super professional. On the day of the party, we ran into a couple of problems with the party hall but Satish and his employee were there for the whole duration of the party (which was not a part of the contract) and made sure everything was in order. Finally, the food was extremely delicious and several people called me and enquired about the food after the party. Some of the stand out items were Kothimeera Kodi, mirapakaya mamsam, chinna waltair chicken Biryani, guthi vankaya pulao and Water chestnut manchuria. If you guys are planning to throw a party, please don't look anywhere else. Go with Kurrys and you will not be disappointed. Also, don't forget to order the chikoo milkshake. To me this place serves the best Biryani. I often visit my boyfriend from Boston and picking up a different Biryani everytime from their specials has now become a ritual. Their Vijayawada Gongura Chicken Biryani remains all time favorite. we ordered mutton biryani , chicken curry, paneer biryani and methi chaman for a party of 15 people, While the chicken curry was good, the mutton biryani had only rice, there was no mutton at all, i guess that's what they call "mutton" biryani in this restaurant.
