Born and raised in Honolulu and now living in the bay, I want to create diaper cakes using Hawaiian print materials to give them an aloha vibe. I created a list of fabric stores to visit, but ended up just checking this place out since it was in Kalihi, not far from where my mom lives, and I didn't feel like being in the crazy Oahu traffic to get to the other shops. Located in a warehouse off N. King Street in Kalihi, it wasn't very hard to find, and parking can be limited in front of the warehouse or street parking. When my mom and I walked in, we were amazed at the vast amount of material this place carries. A lot of Hawaiian print, Palaka, Japanese, Tahitian, and those cute Kawaii patterns (see my pics) to name a few. We received great customer service considering how busy they were. Daniel was pleasant and very helpful. Prices were reasonable, the prints I got were from $5/yd. They mainly carry rolls of material, some ribbon, and a few sewing accessories at the checkout counter. Daniel recommended I check out their Instagram for any new print drops, and they ship! Off 1 star for organization. There are some beautiful prints hiding under several rolls of fabric.

She presented different price quotes to me. Had a picture frame that I earlier had purchased from Walgreens. After showing it to her, she inserted the picture into the frame and also installed the wire behind the frame so that I could hang it up on my wall. When I offered some money for her troubles, she said it wasn't necessary. No charges were applied. She made my day with her thoughtfulness and extreme kindness. I didn't even take Art 101 in college..." However, I accepted the assignment and knew that Pictures Plus in Kaka'ako had a good reputation, so I walked in and dropped off the print. After discussing with my dentist, she went back with me the next day to Pictures Plus to upgrade from plexiglass to Museum Quality Glass because this portrait of Bishop Larry Silva (Diocese of Honolulu) is a gift to the Bishop at his upcoming 50th Anniversary dinner. Kalani was the cashier who must have been amused at our conversation. He showed us different matting examples and we added on a gray mat to have as a border between the glass and the print. Wow. I learned a lot. The upgrades of matting and glass would be about $100 more. I told them that Father Adondee had a budget. My dentist offered to cover the difference, but Kalani said he would take care of it. Thank you so much! The work was supposed to be finished on Monday, April 28, but I got a call on Saturday, April 26 that it was ready! Thank you for finishing early! I went inside and oooo they're selling my favorite items to buy - stationery! Found some Pentel pens for less than $1.50 each and I don't have to buy a whole pack like what amazon sells. The pen writes really smooth! Also got a no sharpening pencil with French fries character on top for my son. Then there's a small Casio pocket calculator for less than $3.50.
