Should be zero. Wasn't going to even bother with leaving a review but decided i should save people from wasting their time and money. Desk Customer service: Amanda the young lady who helped me up at the desk looked irritated the entire time. And her mood never changed the whole time i was there every customer who walked up to her was never greeted with a smile she just had this nasty look the entire time. Like we were all a huge inconvenience and she had better things to do than provide even decently good customer service. So zero stars for her. Customer service all around: You can clearly tell the staff don't want to be there. it just sets a mood for us as customers like why should we even be here? Not impressed with the man who briefed us he has just as bad of an attitude as the lady at the desk. Wait time to even race is absolutely ridiculous! Even if you make a reservation which is already a time consuming process. Over all not a fan. This place needs to take a good look at the people they've hired and possibly reconsider if they're really a good fit. Came to Reno for a mini vacation and saw this place near our hotel. I haven't been go karting in awhile, so I decided to try it out. My boyfriend and I went for a date night on a Saturday around 9:30, and it wasn't too busy thankfully. For covid, everyone is wearing masks and sanitize consistently, and there are only about 8 people allowed per race. It was about $50 for 2 people ($20 per race, $6 annual membership per person). The head socks are all new and you get to keep them. The course was a little smaller than I expected, but you get 14 laps and I'd say that's a good deal. I was satisfied at the end of the race and felt safe. There was no gas smell, but my helmet visor did fall off in the middle of the race though lol. The only thing I'd recommend is that the people at the front desk be a little more welcoming. We were standing there for almost a minute and all 3 people there glanced at us, but not one hello or smile. It didn't ruin our experience, just felt a little hostile. The people running the course seemed more friendly though. At the end, you go to the front desk to get your race results. Also, definitely check in at least 30 minutes prior. We were signed up for the 9:30pm and got there at 9pm, and they started us at 9:20pm, so don't miss your slot! Also also, wear contacts if you can! I didn't bring any and had to force my glasses into my helmet. Mini golf course and VR looked interesting. I don't know if I'd recommend the VR during Covid because I didn't see anyone use or sanitize it, but I wouldn't know. The front desk girls are extremely rude. The elementary school graduated today and as a reward we wanted to come racing. I started called at 11am sharp when they opened and over a dozen call later they finally answered the phone at 11:45. I pressed them as to the availability of youth races and they just told me to go online and sign up and I said well we're trying to make a bunch of plans for the day and it would be really helpful to understand what slotting is available. They said just to come down and we could get a race we headed straight down and we're immediately told all of us signed in that one of the kids needed to have a waiver signed by a legal guardian. we stepped outside where it's more quiet to call that parent to come down and sign the waiver and when returning to the store 10 minutes later, they had wiped all of our registrations off even though there's nobody else here. They took some gratification and having us go through this process for yet another time, extremely rude time. These are the last people you want running your Customer Service business. I don't know if we'll ever come back and we were gonna come for multiple races today but they were so rude that again we're just gonna do the one race and then then we go spend our money somewhere else . read more

When we arrived the staff were rude and told us we had to book a reservation for which there were none available for 4-5 hours. Meanwhile the track was empty. According to the staff, a new manager took over 5 days ago and sacked 9 out of 14 staff members. So if you go, expect to have to wait around a lot. The goal is not too lose traction, keep the turns tight, and floor it through the straights. If you're a novice it'll take a couple visits to really figure these out. But once you do, you'll be in for a kickass time! Service The staff was pretty cool. Young guys and gals who took the time to go over the kart safety procedures, and make sure we had our seats properly adjusted for our particular ride height. - The taller you are the further you gotta move the seat back. I didn't bring a laptop with me we're traveling all I have is my phone can't make reservations on my phone using the website. Really fun race track! Pretty open space compared to some other tracks, and they have some virtual simulation games as well on the side of the front entrance. We went on a day that wasn't as busy so it was easier to get our individual races without ransoms on the course. read more

It was snowing the day of and they were trying to get us to cancel or reschedule we didn't & when we arrived you could tell the staff didn't want to be there. They weren't helpful or polite. We were the only group there but yet we had no service. They didn't tell us our party room was available or the pizza had arrived until after we had already been there for over 30-40minutes. The pizza evidently was delivered an hour prior to our arrival & we were told there was a microwave available. There was no microwave. The pizza was cold. If I could give no stars I definitely would. This place does not know how to treat customers, and the counter worker obviously doesn't understand how businesses make money. Tonight after the Super Bowl we took the family here after calling ahead because we knew it was already a bit late in the day. On that call, the lady was extremely rude but did confirm if we hurry we would be okay given there were 7 of us. Then when we got there and filled out all our wavers and went to make the race purchases, the lady behind the counter/register (Likely the same Rude one from the phone but I cannot confirm) told us that there were only 2 slots left. Of course, this was a huge bummer, but we understood given there are only 8 riders per race. We decided to let two of the teens in our group go so at least someone could have fun. Then once the two from our group were called up we notice there were only five racers after being told it should be 8 total. We then decided to walk up to the counter and ask the lady why did we not gotten added to those open slots. At this time her only response was "well they are sitting in the karts already so I can't do anything." Yet we heard the race controller tell her 3 riders left way before the next race was starting over the phone/walkie-talkie. As anyone could imagine this was quite upsetting and also a very bad practice of business given how much money we all would have been spending for that last race of the night. This was a direct loss of money for the organization based on one poor performance worker behind the counter! It will also continue to be a loss because we will never bring the family here again and will also be sharing this amongst friends and of course yelp so others don't have to experience this! Really fun go kart place! Pretty serious--they claim their karts go between 40-45 mph at the fastest corner. They have mini golf and a 4 player VR experience too (6 different games). They make you sign a waiver and you wear helmets and all that jazz. People will probably bump into you, just FYI. But they do stop all the cars if someone really crashes. For $46, you can get two races, mini golf, and a VR game. Pretty enjoyable deal! I have a VR setup at home but the VR here was pretty easy to get into and it was still quite fun to play with my friends! The mini golf is just a standard course with blacklights, but who doesn't like mini golf? read more

My company held their quarterly meetings here recently in their back conference room. Small room, but I think it's still pretty cool that they even have a conference room. They also have black light mini golf in the back as well. Can't comment on that since we did not try it out. We were there for our work meeting mixed with a little bit of racing. The employees were super informative and friendly. And this place is definitely a lot of fun! We got to try out the black light racing as well, which is something I've never tried before. We did have a larger group but the staff was immediately rude to us the second we approached them. They said we couldn't race but we could play mini golf, I tapped my phone to pay. Both of the girl behind the counter immediately got bad attitudes like "you're not supposed to tap. Now our whole system is down." But no one said anything BEFORE? It's fun! It really is but, surprise, it's a business and you shouldn't buy any sort of credit and/or gift card. A bunch of races were bought for me about a year ago so today was the day I came back to use my last two race credits so, I called to verify that I could. Well %100 contrary to the information I received on the phone, there were extra "license fees" that they instituted since my last visit AND, the credit is not transferable to my girlfriend who also joined me on this occasion. Again, told different information on the phone and when confronted with this information the seemingly uneducated and lackluster employees insisted we had to pay the extra $52 to incorporate my girlfriend into the mix for the two extra races.. instead of just the simple one race for each of us. Here's to the $52 and taking my business elsewhere. as should you if you intend on buying any sort of gift card/credit. Thanks to chris for the reply, much appreciated and quite professional. Notes: Storm karts claim to be new style model karts. They explain the touchy breaks which is a safety feature. Don't press both gas & break same time or it will activate safety feature or someone from behind will hit you if you stop around the turns. Best advice given is to not use your breaks if you driving these karts, just let off the gas throttle pedal & right back to the gas throttle pedal going through the turns which will help getting faster times as well. If you get stuck & not going anywhere it's cause you use the break, just take foot off break & go right back to gas you will start going again. They even have an ideal track map with guideline you can study & follow to help with the racing track. Now the DSR karts to me seems to be better driven than the storm karts. No safety feature attach to kart but remember to also slow down around turns & try not to use breaks to prevent causin accidents, just let off the gas throttle pedal & right back to gas throttle as you go through the turns. Adult size karts are pretty fast so be aware of your surroundings for faster drivers if you drive little slower than others. Let them pass you since racing for lap times not positions. Hope advice helps everyone plan to race. Overall, employees knows their jobs & try to best accommodate to their guest & very helpful with any questions you may have. Mini golf is cool for smaller 9 holes than most places around town, they got VR games which is fun & party rooms to host events & stuff. read more

I went here with my brothers and sister. The staff was friendly and the place was very clean. We chose the 2 races, the zombie shooting game, and mini golf. Everything we used they sanitized afterwards (so take that you covid!) which was nice. The karts are electrically powered. Although we raced with another party it was still fun. The zombie game was nice, the only thing was my mic and my brothers mic didn't work so we only heard our other brother and sister, but it was still fun. The mini golf course was in a white light/glow in the dark setting. For the first time in history I got a hole in one ha. Oh my goodness what a fun place. From the moment I step into Need 2 Speed it felt fun. Was greeted by a smiling and joyful employee to see how she could help. I was there with my girl friend snd her too young grand sons. We started off with racing there electric go carts around a track for two miles. The employees attention to safety and explanation of the carts to all three of us, myself and the two grandsons were in the first race. Not sure how many times around the track is fir the two miles but it goes on snd on. Just a whole lot of fun, the carts were quick and responsive. I did sign up the boys up for a virtual video game they had, which they both loved. Need 2 Speed offers the usual swag, so we pick up a couple t shirts for them to remember the day. I had fun racing there, although it was pretty overwhelming. Granted, it was only my first time. But they get 5-stars for Kyle, the mechanic. I work with Big Brothers Big Sisters, and brought my little bro there today to learn about go karts, something he's become fascinated with. We went to the garage in the back, and Kyle stopped what he was doing to show him how go karts worked. He let him sit inside one and play with it. He was so friendly. First I called the business to see if walk ins are accepted. The said yes, so we did a walk in and the track was rented making it so walk in were not available. We were advised to schedule an online appointment which requires payment. No biggie, we made a reservation. I paid for 8 racers totaling over $200. We show up 5 hours later to our scheduled time and we're asked if all of the children were mine. I replied yes, I am their legal guardian. They replied legal guardians could not authorize permission (on the website legal guardians are allowed to authorize permission). My children and foster children had their Saturday completely ruined and let down. We were completely denied services and were not refunded money. They took down a name and phone number to pass on to their boss. I would never recommend this business as they only recognize biological children as your own and stole over $200. Paying for a service, not receiving the service, and being denied an immediate refund is theft. Will never return and will never recommend this businesses. Drive to Carson city and race at the Carson raceway at the indoor amusement park, your money will be much better spent. read more

We get there, the staff are rude and unhelpful, the go karts are super expensive -$20 for a kids ride which we timed to be 6 minutes, and if you'd like to race with your kids you have to drive a kid's kart. It mentioned buy 2 races get 1 free (which the lady refused to honor), so why advertise? There was a group of older men waiting to race and when we had left they were already racing for 11 minutes. My husband and I sat out while we paid $60 to race for 6 minutes. Please reconsider coming here and management, your place is a ripoff, your teenaged staff are rude, and I can't believe you actually get business. To the owner- I have read your past replies to other reviews and I can see why your staff are the way they are-probably learned it from you. You skirt around every issue brought to your attention and try to make excuses. It doesn't matter whether you think the customer is wrong, they are always right. We had our sons birthday party there today. All the kids had a great time but there is literally no party host to guide the experience along. We constantly had to send a parent up to the desk to inquire about pizza, race times, mini golf.... The girl behind the counter was pleasant but clearly under staffed. Please consider having a designated party host for your parties. Trying to keep 6 kids entertained at a party is like herding cats, having someone there to guide the itinerary would be helpful especially for the cost of the party experience. read more

They introduced themselves, met our level of excitement and did everything possible to make sure our experience was memorable. We hosted a company event and these three employees went above and beyond and gave 150% to make sure all 15 of our team members were entertained. Probably the worst experience I have ever had at a go-cart facility. To start the prices are high costing around $23 a person. The staff were all teenager a that were unfriendly and arrogant. Then once you start racing around the track they hold out signs and yell at you for drifting. Not one person in my group was attempting to drift a go-cart but in order to turn on the corners you have to turn the steering wheel which causes the tires to screech on the slick floor. Never going back. I apologize for just doing an edit I can not figure out how to reply. So yes the price is clearly $23.00 you are correct sir and yes I guess I should have used the internet to look at the pricing prior to arriving at the facility. I was there on January 26th, 2019 at the opening. The female cashier was fine. My problem was mostly with the tattooed young male as we collected our helmets. We had our annual fundraiser for RSAR here tonight. The facility was ours exclusively for three hours. What a ton of fun this place was. It was so easy to get checked in, and put your name on the list to wait for a race. Everyone at the front desk is cheerful and kind, and the anticipation effortlessly builds as you watch others race at breakneck speeds around the track while you wait to be called. When you are called, you walk into a waiting corral filled with fresh clean head socks for hygienic purposes and motorcycle helmets of different sizes that you must put onto your head for the duration of the race. The staff then assigns you a car and briefs you on the general guidelines about how to drive the cars before checking it for safety and letting you rip out on the track. The cars themselves are awesome; they accelerate fast and go up to 45 miles per hour around a very long indoor track, filled with turns and switchbacks. The cars are battery powered and high torque. No exhaust fume smell creates a delightful experience. Be careful with your knees, as there is a bolt sticking out from the right side of the steering column that tends to stick in your knee as you go around the turns and can end up bruising the inside of your knee. You go for 14 laps around the track, usually priced at $23 per race. It's a pretty expensive experience, but if you haven't been it's well worth it. There's nothing else like this in Reno. It's so good, in fact, that today, as we arrived, we saw a couple of actors who were in My Big Fat Greek Wedding leaving after a race. If a race isn't your speed, they also have blacklight mini golf, of which we played two games, and they were both very enjoyable. The facility also has a nice room in the back to eat in, and this can be great for setting up special parties, like a birthday party. There's two separate rooms designed to keep the food away from the general party area. Every room is clean and organized, and it's a great place to host an event. Overall, Need 2 Speed is a very fun place to go for entertainment. Everyone needs to experience this at least once. read more
