This place has bomb food. I have a small stomach but I can wolf a plate of curry down by myself. Yellow curry is where it's at! Loving the carrots and potatoes and of course the curry itself. Pad Thai, garlic shrimp, and grilled short ribs are also delicious dishes. The chicken skewers aren't the best I've ever had but they're alright. Papaya salad and corn cakes are also just okay. Roti and Chocolate lava cake is alright. Was looking forward to mango sticky rice but they don't have it since it isn't in season. This place gets busy and isn't big so I would come with maybe a group of two or three, four at most. Came here for lunch because the other Thai place nearby closes on Wednesdays. It was my first time here and I assumed that they would have a bigger lunch special menu...other Thai restaurants I've been to usually have a bigger lunch special menu, but they only had 3 options to choose from... It took quite sometime for them to bring all of our foods out and they didn't seem too busy during the time we went. Our waitress was friendly and helpful, though. I wish they had a bigger selection to choose from with their menu. I ordered the pad kee mow and it was decent! I added some of their spicy chili sauce that that they have to add it some kick. This is the second time I have picked up a vegetarian papaya salad (and being very clear on the phone that it was vegetarian and no fish sauce would be used) and came home to find my order was wrong and reeked of fish smell. I called the restaurant and they confirmed they got my order wrong. If you are vegetarian or vegan- you should know they routinely make these errors. I ordered the chicken satay and papaya salad. They were both appetizers but the two together was a great meal. I'm currently on paleo and those two dishes were the most paleo friendly I could ask for. They are very friendly in terms of adding or switching out ingredients. My friends ordered a pa Ke meow and a pad see ew with chicken. The dishes are served with salad, and the portions were huge. Service was okay. We waited quite some time for the person to come by and take our order. We were seated immediately however for a party of 3, but the cooking was also a bit slow. They give you pitchers of water, but for a party of 3, they get emptied pretty fast. Overall, enjoyed the small vibe of the location, parking can be somewhat difficult, given that its on a busy street. read more

Visiting my daughter who works just up the road, we popped in for a quick lunch. No wait, quick service and lots to choose from on the menu. I had a Curry Chicken and vegetable served with rice, just the perfect amount of spicy zing in the creamy coconut milky curry sauce...oh so delicious I ate every bite! My daughter had some vegetable and chicken thing with the peanut sauce that looked equally amazing ( I guess I should have tried a bite but I was so mesmerized with my own plate I forgot to ask) My cousin had some veggie and basil dish also stellar looking too. Very enjoyable meal and all for $31.00 including my daughter's ice tea. Nice server and we were in and out all within the hour, I will so bring my husband back here he'd love this place. Stumbled in on a Sunday for brunch. At first I was a bit skeptical because it was so empty, while nearby restaurants had lines for days. I think they had just opened when we walked in, because soon after we were seated, there was a bit of traffic. The food was decent. I had the garlic shrimp meal with white rice and a bomb a** salad on the side. That dressing was everything. The garlic shrimp wasn't what I expected, but I liked it A LOT. Neecha Thai is my parents go-to restaurant. Since I love Thai food, I decided to go with them last week. I ordered my standard Thai ice tea and appreciated the even tea/condensed milk ratio. I don't like when some places give you some ultra sweet orange "stuff". This was soon followed by an order of Por Pia Tod (deep fried lumpia spring rolls filled with pork, shrimp, jicama, shiitake mushrooms, and silver noodles, $6.25). These were perfectly fried and well plated. They are quite small, but perhaps that's why they were so nicely fried to golden perfection. Once finished with my appetizer, my entree came out. I ordered the Nua Pad Prik (stir-fried beef, bamboo shoots, Thai basil, red bell peppers, yellow onions, and jalapeños in chili sauce, $8.95). This plate looked beautiful and was nicely spiced. The more I ate, the more I was glad I had a glass of Thai time tea and a glass of water. There was a generous amount of everything; beef, bamboo, Thai basil, red pepper, and one jalapeño. The reason they received 4 instead of 5 stars is because the first time I had this dish, the beef was a little tough. It has since improved, it seems but I would have to go back to be absolutely certain. If you are catching a movie or just wandering around Grand Ave or Lakeshore, should stop by and give this place a try. There were tons of to go orders the last time we went. Came in for lunch around a quarter to 3pm, which is stated they close from 3-5pm. As we walked in I asked if it was ok to eat there or if they were closing soon.. as the waitress was pressing us for our order I asked to order the bbq chicken and my gf got some type of curry shrimp unimpressive meal. 5 minutes pass and she's back telling me that they can't prepare the bbq dish because it will take 20 minutes and asks if I want to order anything else, the only other item I could recall on the menu (since it was my first time there) was the short rib so I asked for that dish and got a similar response.. at this point I wanted to leave but choose to look at the menu and give it a shot- as the waitress brought me a menu she hovered over me till I chose another dish. I settled for the cashew chicken which ended up being blamed and tossed together, made with no love at all whatsoever. That's not even the main reason for giving this review. I was shocked and appalled at the server dropping off the bill and demanding that we needed to pay because the till was being turned off.. I was like wtf ?!?! Are you serious, keeping my composer I let her know after she came back that it's rude to do that to a customer and mentioned that in the future you should be more transparent with the customer, it's not like they're unaware of certain dishes taking a more prolonged time I would understand and be more considerate if it was a new item or they changed their menu completely. But that wasn't the case and they're not new to this. Bottom line there are plenty of other places that would enjoy you as a patron at their establishment, don't waste your time here with these ungrateful folk. read more

I tried a few times because I really wanted to love it since it's super close to my home. Customer service is also hit or miss depending on who helps you out. Ordered take-out from here last week for the first time. Pickup was smooth and ready very quickly but after eating most of my side salad I found a large dead moth at the bottom of the container. Staff were rude when contacted - they struggled to find my order record over the phone and became short with me about it. Finally was able to locate the order and said they would refund it. No apologies or any sort of redeeming customer service in the process. Checked my credit card a week later and they did not actually provide a refund, so not only was I given unsanitary food, I also paid $30 and tipped for it. Just terrible in every way. The rice was a puck that I could not fluff despite significant effort. The dish itself wasn't particularly flavorful, but it was OK. There was no spice at all until you ate a jalapeño, which went from 0 to 10. I'm lightly exaggerating, but I went from disappointment about nothing being spicy to being nearly in tears, and I literally asked for it to be extra spicy. But I ate it all. It was fine. One of my preferred Thai venues. I love their kabocha squash curry (comes with either chicken, fried tofu or beef) and they have a good variety of vegetarian food (a dedicated full page of dishes). It's a few stores down from the Grand Lake movie theatre, so a great choice to eat right before or after. I seldom write yelp reviews. I placed a pickup order of Chicken Pad Kee Mao and Chicken Tom Yum, and was super excited. Reviews seemed solid enough, so I decided to give them a shot. Food was ready within 15 minutes, and I couldn't wait to dig in. Started with the soup...my goodness. I've never had Tom Yum that tasted so bad. In fact, I didn't know it could. Imagine a bowl of sugar and vinegar that somehow managed to spoil, and that's what the soup base tasted like. Truly awful. Perhaps maybe the soup was a fluke? I tried a bite of the Chicken Pad Kee Mao. Luckily no clashing flavors...in fact, there was no flavor at all! I was so confused by the extremely bold Tom Yum followed by bland Noodles. The only saving grace was the packet of soy sauce I found at home alone with some chili garlic paste. It's also more expensive than most Thai food I'm accustomed to so I expected the quality to match. I strolled in on a Thursday for lunch and was happy to hear they offered to-go. I was craving pad Thai and ordered their chicken pad Thai ($13 something after taxes) which was ready in 10 minutes. Big plus. I just strolled around the Grand Lake area while waiting, and it was quite relaxing. I brought the dish back to my work and what surprised me the most was that they put their to-go orders in a thin cardboard box totally not suitable for hot food. The material became really soggy and fragile. That didn't bother me as much as the dry chicken and noodles though. The taste was ok, but overall just kind of disappointing. I hate leaving negative reviews, but after having so many delicious pad Thai dishes in the past, I know they are not hard to come by. A positive was that service was friendly. read more
