Amazing treats that are all gluten free!!! We had the most amazing delicious breakfast sandwich...jalapeno cheese scone with cooked cheese, bacon, spinach, egg, avocado. You pick your scone and then can add goodies. We had the perfect combination! So so delicious.

Thankful to have found this place on our trip to Monterey. Sandwiches were . Cookies were freshly baked and almost crumbles in yours hand. Will 100% be returning here for their sandwiches and treats.

CLOSED SUNDAYS!!!!! I was *devastated* to see this. Arrived on Friday and planned to get a GF cinnamon roll from here before leaving Sunday, not realizing it is only open Tuesday thru Saturday wahhhhhhhhh. But I was able to get a Nece's chocolate chip muffin at Captain & Stoker in town, and it was delish. Great texture, super big, very enjoyable. I hope I can come back for a gf cinnamon roll someday as I feel like those are hard to come by.

I love this place so much I could cry! Having gluten and dairy free dietary restrictions and a love for pastries does not always go hand in hand, but I genuinely could not tell the difference at Nece's GF. (My boyfriend, who is not gluten free, also agrees.) The staff was confidently able to recommend me options that were dairy free, on top of everything already being gluten free. It was such a relaxing and fun experience being able to choose from a variety of muffins, brownies, cookies, and cakes without the worry of feeling sick afterwards. My personal favorites were the maple scone and the brownie with sea salt. These were hands down the best gluten and dairy free pastries I've ever had, and I will most definitely be back. Thank you so much Nece's I love you!!

Rarely leave reviews, but the food was so good I had to. Didn't think gluten free bread could be this delicious, was the perfect sandwich. The service is amazing, the women working here are so friendly and nice. Very pleased and worth the price !

Wow...I am amazed at just how good this place is. I got the breakfast sconewich with the cheddar scone, bacon, and avocado. The cheddar scone was SO buttery and moist I could have cried at how delicious it was. All of the baked goods looked amazing but besides the sconewich, I only got some cookies (also delicious). If you're GF, this place is an absolute must!

Cheddar jalapeño scone AKA The Scone of My Dreams

If you're looking for the scone of your dreams, it lives here. Nece's is amazing! I visit Monterey maybe once a year, and I make it a point to get my gluten free baking fix at least once while I'm in town. The cheddar jalapeño scone is to die for - tender and bouncy and just the right amount of cheese and peppers. How do they even do this?? I guess lots of people are in the know, though, because they mostly sell out before 10am. So get there early! The muffins are perfectly textured too- none of the gritty or mushy feel you get with so many gluten free baked goods - just tender crumb in lots of flavors. I tried the sugar cookie and the salt pretzel this time around too. The cookie had a delicious buttery flavor and was soft but not overly crumbly- the closest I've seen to what I remember of a traditional sugar cookie. The salt pretzel was really hard until I microwaved it for 30 seconds, then it softened up really nicely. Listen, if you're gluten free, just go there. You will not be sorry.

    Sconewich! Amazing!!

Still an amazing gluten free bakery. If you're in Monterey this is a must visit for delicious GF scones, muffins, pies, sandwiches and more. Say "hello" to Sharquay and her bakers-helpers... they are a very friendly family-owned business. We have celiac's in our family and everything is truly Gluten free, celiac safe

    A sconewich with cheddar jalapeño

I didn't think gluten-free baked goods can be this good. Usually the thought of a gluten-free pastry is so offputting that I don't even try it. We just so happen to be staying at a hotel one street over from this place on our trip to Big Sur so I walked in. I got a sconewich two days in a row, and to be honest it was one of the most delicious things I've ate. I also brought a blackberry scone home, which was equally delicious. Everything else looked so fluffy and amazing, I honestly don't know how they do it. I have baked gluten-free before and everything comes out like a brick. I loved this place.

We stopped by twice while we were in town and tried a few different things--lunch sandwiches, breakfast sandwiches, and apple muffin. It was all incredible, but the star of the show for me was the cinnamon roll. I will having dreams about it for years to come, I'm sure

    Do you ship in California?

Yes. We have a limited menu of products we ship!

Can you get a breakfast sandwich on a plain scone?

We make cheddar scones daily for breakfast sandwiches. That's the closest thing to "plain" that we do!

How much are the breakfast and lunch sandwiches? Have had almost all of your pastries and they're yummy, but never had a sandwich?

Our breakfast sconewiches are around $8 and our panini pressed sandwiches are $16!

The cookies, financier and tea cake were all delicious. The latte wasn't overly sweet and was even a bit savory. It grew on me. There were a few sandwiches ordered by other patrons that looked scrumptious. If I hadn't eaten breakfast already, I would've ordered something substantial. Hopefully, I'll return to Monterey again. I waited over 25 minutes for my takeout order, I would've been waiting longer if I hadn't said anything sooner. The first person I asked tried to wave me off, after I told her I waited for 25 min, she said she would ask in the back. Another few min passed and another customer told me it could be the bag that was sitting on the counter for about 15 min. I had checked the order a few times, but it had another person's receipt in front of the bag so I thought it was another person's order. It ended up being my order, they had placed the receipt behind the bag so only they could see the name. was a very annoying experience especially after waiting in line for so long. Their order system and customer service needs to be improved

The cherry croissant was perfectly buttery and flaky, with the acidity of the cherry adding just the right kick to this breakfast pastry. I was initially hesitant on getting the clam chowder at a bakery and was thinking of getting it at a seafood restaurant on Cannery Row, but the reviews were glowing and the price was reasonable. I'm glad I took a chance on it, because the bowl was chockful with clams, potatoes, celery, and a briny creamy seafood broth base. Something has definitely changed. I don't know if it's new ownership or a change in management, but this visit was incredibly disappointing. I paid $14.95 for a ham and cheese sandwich that had just two slices of ham, two slices of cheese, and what tasted like day old bread. It was dry, underwhelming, and nowhere near the quality I remembered. It's disappointing to see a place I loved go downhill. I really hope they can get back to what made them so special. I will try to come earlier and see if they have it next time! I was in the mood for savory not having eaten breakfast yet so the quiche was calling me. This was my first time here and many people ahead of me in line were ordering them. Truthfully I'm not really a quiche person but this one looked divine. Maybe because instead of a slice of quiche it was my own little quiche. It was so savory, flavorful with the perfect balance of goat cheese and tomato! (I got the goat cheese & tomato flavor obv). They also heated it up for me! It was delicious and the crust so flaky. I also got an almond croissant because I love me some almond filling. This too was delicious! It was really cool to try their style of almond croissant which is a flatter style--flaky and moist and crisp. My hubby got the apricot pastry and it was also so good! I am ready to visit here again the next time I'm in Monterey! Hopefully I can snag a table outside this time because it's such a cute outdoor space to eat after getting your pastries.

Excellent little Paraguayan snack bar!!…read more I saw this spot while scrolling thru Yelp's nearby function and curiosity of their yerba mate and empanadas brought me in. I was still feeling kind of sick but wanted something hot to drink so I ordered a mate latte with oat milk. I also had one of their beef empanadas to take away so I could eat it later. Mate latte was great and definitely would get this drink again. They also have a smoked mate drink and I would definitely come back to try this too! You have to like yerba mate to fully appreciate this drink. The mate latte is kind of a light version of what mate is like. Maybe start with this first to prepare you for traditional mate. If you get traditional mate, be prepared to have your mouth jolted and doing jumping jacks, its definitely stimulating and I love it! Later when I reached my destination, I ate the beef empanada with chimichurri sauce provided and it was delicious! After I polished it off, I had wished I brought a few more to take with me. But, at $9.50 a piece, they aren't cheap, so keep that in mind. They also have other Paraguayan/South American offerings here and I was so tempted to get a mini alfajor as it was eyeing me in the display case that said EAT ME (like Alice in Wonderland), but I did not give into this, but I so wish I did!!
