Me and the fam came here to get some breakfast. We all got bagels. My husband had a jalapeño bagel with cream cheese (although he said it didn't have quite enough spice for his liking). Our kiddo got a sesame bagel with cream cheese and lox and loved it! I had a sesame bagel with egg, cheddar, crispy bacon (and it was crispy), and avocado. Even toasted it was still soft and fluffy enough. It has to be one of the best (if NOT the greatest) bagels I've ever had in my life. I'm definitely recommending this place. Also, the bottle of water I later got didn't seem to cost an arm and a leg, either. My husband did have and like the French toast coffee. Service seemed quick and they are very nice. They didn't mess anything up and they specifically only put the food items you ask for on the bagels. I've been other places where they put tons of pepper on my sandwiches and it's been impossible for me to eat and enjoy. They have ample seating inside with very soft music and a restroom for their customers. This establishment has drink coolers both behind and outside of the counters and screens up above to see all the items they have to choose from. read more

I was walking around the area with some friends looking for a place to grab quick lunch at. We opted for the bagel bakery. I tried their strawberry smoothie with Boba and plain bagel with cream cheese. The food was good, and service was fast. It's a decently size location, with seating available and plenty of food to choose from. My only complaint is that it didn't feel very welcoming. Not sure I'd go back for this reason. read more

The California bagel sandwich is disgusting and I unfortunately am experiencing food poisoning symptoms. The sprouts and eggs smelled and tasted extremely off, I took one bite and felt so sick. The service was also very strange, I could barely hear the employee not because of any loud noises going on, sounded like whispering and mumbling. Very disappointed this was my first time and lots of people recommended it. I will not be back at least to this location not sure if it's different elsewhere. Quality/Quantity - Turkey Avocado Sandwich - Daughter and I on our father/daughter trip and did not want to over eat before going to the aquarium. So we split a Turkey Avocado Sandwich. It had good proportions of fillings to a bagel. Overall, it was good. Atmosphere - Decent size location, but everyone seemed to take their food to-go. Free 1 hour street parking. Clean and organized location. Open 7 days a week from 7am to 2pm or 3pm, see picture. Yelp's hours differ. Service - The employee was super friendly, welcoming, etc. The "owners" were efficient but barely said a word... Price - $14, expensive in my opinion for what we got. I love this place! The bagels are super fresh and have that perfect balance between doughy and airy - also a good crunch when toasted. My wife and I try and stop here every time we are visiting the coast. You can't go wrong with the bagels but my preference is the jalapeño cheddar, sourdough, garlic or onion. I feel like the bagel to cream cheese ratio it could've been more on the cream cheese. It has been such a pain finding good food here in Carmel and Monterey this trip as everything is extremely overrated but my husband and I really enjoyed this place. This bagel spot is overpriced and not the best quality. The menu is extensive and I felt pressured by staff to order right away when perusing the different options. I settled on 2 egg breakfast bagels and they cost over $25. There was $5 of unknown additional charges, which I can only attribute to the addition of cream cheese and choosing a cheddar cheese bagel. I had the California dream and it was decent. It was oddly cut into 4 pieces which made all the toppings fall off when eating. Something disappointing to note is that the eggs for their breakfast bagels are cooked in the microwave. I don't see myself coming back here if it meant I could go somewhere that had a fresher, cheaper option. read more

Stopped by here for a couple of bagels with cream cheese and was very pleased! The bagels we're a great size, nice and soft but crispy on the outside. The garlic bagel had tons of crispy garlic on the outside and the onion bagel had great onion crisps on the outside. The staff was helpful and quick to help me when I came in. The parking looks like it can be a bit of an issue since it's right in the middle of downtown Monterey, but we got lucky and found a spot right in the front! The pricing was very reasonable as well. We didn't want to spend $20 on breakfast each at the hotel, so we ventured out. I'm so glad I found this cute mom and pop bagel place in downtownMonterey on 6/18/21. There was a line, but it moved pretty quickly. They had so many different types of breakfast and lunch type of bagels. You will for sure find something that you will like. I can eat bagels any time of the day, so I was happy with whatever. The portion is huge and they were about $5-6 each sandwich. We got a large orange juice, large vietnamese coffee with 3 bagels and it was under $30! It was delicious. Parking can be tough. Only street parking.
