GMG Gallegos Marble & Granite - FULL QUARTZ COUNTERTOP INSTALLATION

    GMG Gallegos Marble & Granite

I would not recommend this company to my worst enemy. Gallego's wife Veronica tried to deflect…read moreresponsibility for what appeared to be a piece of overpriced, used, marble that looked like it was repurposed after being removed from another residence. Gallegos is very unreliable. We will have to have their expensive piece of garbage, that was heavily scratched, and had multiple beverage rings etched on the surface as per an expert at stone restoration, replaced. When the stones were removed it was obvious the counter was black and the backsplash was gray. Gallegos seem to have very questionable business practices. Noticed they respond to negative feedback by criticizing the customer. Had they done their job well, no one would be complaining. Gallegos was given the opportunity to rectify their mistake. They sent a smug employee, allegedly to remove and polish the stone, he only wanted to photograph the hot mess, then got in the company truck and left. They used up their good will, I would not trust them in our home again!

Ok bottom line - call them. Period end of discussion. Even if you are in NYC like we are!…read more Roger and his team are the only people I will recommend without reservation from our renovation. There work was careful, extraordinary, fast and beyond reasonably priced. They not only made us a great counter and backsplash they installed it with ease. The difficulty of our space is there isn't a flat or straight wall in our 1929 apartment. These guys cut a piece of stone perfectly for us. From initial conversation to measurements to two installs within one week (first counter then the backsplash) these guys were easy to deal with. Roger is great, his office staff quick to respond and clearly one of the best decisions of this whole process to use him! Good? Call him - NOW!

We had a deeply disappointing experience with Artistic Stone and, based on that experience, cannot…read morerecommend them. We hired Artistic Stone to replace our kitchen countertops and fireplace hearth with quartz and chose to extend the quartz up the kitchen walls for a seamless backsplash. To prepare, we removed our existing white subway tile. Although our installation was already delayed due to an "installer emergency," the situation worsened on installation day. Three of the four pieces arrived cut incorrectly, leaving large, noticeable gaps around the fireplace and along the kitchen walls. The installers attempted to persuade us to accept the pieces as they were, which was unacceptable given the cost of the project. After they contacted their team, they attributed the mistakes to their templating software and accepted no responsibility. That same day--for the very first time--we were informed that our cabinet trim would have to be removed for the quartz backsplash to be installed, as they were unwilling to cut around it. This had not been mentioned at any point during six weeks of communication or even during the in‑home templating appointment just a week and a half earlier. Because removing the trim risked damaging our cabinets (which were glued and screwed together), we had no choice but to abandon the quartz backsplash plan entirely and reinstall subway tile--bringing us back to our original setup at roughly twice the cost, which we had to arrange ourselves. When we attempted to speak to the owner about these issues, we were told he was "off the grid." When he eventually called from a blocked number, he did not provide his name. When we requested compensation for the incorrect cuts, delays, and added expenses, we were told they were already "eating the cost" of recutting the pieces--even though the mistakes were theirs alone. After several days of back‑and‑forth, the only concession offered was a minimal discount of a few hundred dollars, despite our paying nearly $13,000. We were initially told the process from templating to installation would take 4-6 business days. Instead, it extended beyond two weeks, and we were forced to move into our new home with no backsplash, no sink, and no functioning cooktop. In our opinion, Artistic Stone was disorganized, unprofessional, and unwilling to take responsibility for their errors. Communication was poor, the mistakes were substantial, and the resolution offered was inadequate. We do not take leaving a negative review lightly, but given the significant investment of time, money, and stress involved, we feel it is necessary to share our experience.

Horrible customer service! I have used Silva for a total of three jobs (first was to install…read morekitchen cabinets when remodeling back in 2012, second was to refinish the cabinets they installed in 2012 and third was to install built in cabinets, wine racks and a buffet into our dining room. (I also had them install in my moms house and she had some headaches with Silva but that's a different review to be done later). When we did the original install back in 2012, we were impressed by the work. The cabinets were well made and looked great. We installed painted (white) cabinets and as you would expect over time the paint started to fade, chip etc out of usual wear and tear. Given normal wear and tear on painted cabinets, we asked if Silva could refinish these cabinets and they agreed. At the same time we asked them if they can install built in cabinets, wine racks and a buffet into our dining room. This is when their true customer service became apparent. When refinishing the kitchen cabinets it is necessary to take the cabinet doors off. Upon reinstalling the cabinet doors in our kitchen we noticed that some of the alignments were off, and some of the drawers didn't close properly. In addition, the newly installed bult in cabinets in our dining room had the same issue. The dining room cabinets are rarely used, so it definitely was NOT from our use but the installation. I did mention this to Ricardo and he said he would come out and adjust the cabinets. A long time passed and i guess we just forgot or didnt follow up. when it came to my mother installing new cabinets I recommended Silva (mistake). I mentioned to Ricardo that if he does my moms job, i finally want them to come out and adjust the cabinet doors which were mis aligned. Silva finally came out and did the adjustments. The day after Silva adjusted the cabinets, one of the plastic pieces on the slides for our utensil drawer broke. It was just bad luck. I called Silva immediately to inform them this mechanism was broken and our utensil drawer "locks up" when closed, causing a bit of a headache for the most used drawer in our kitchen. Almost 3 months passed and i called time and time again just asking if they can come fix this one piece. I mentioned it should be a quick fix as its one piece on one drawer. Well similar to their previous customer service, they NEVER got back to me. I called many times, asking for a date and when they finally gave me a date to come out they NO SHOWED. so i kept calling. they kept saying they are so busy and are not sure when they can come out. I told them it doesn't matter, just give me a date...any date...and stick to it. The receptionist said Ricardo will call me back....did he......NOPE! This morning i finally got ricardo on the phone, he immediately accused me of blaming their workers for "breaking my cabinets". Maybe I was so frustrated I spoke incorrectly so i tried telling Ricardo that I'm not blaming anyone that things happen but he just wouldn't listen. He went off on a rant about many things, speaking to me in an unprofessional way. Voices got elevated and at the same time we both yelled at each other. Ricardo went as far as dropping the F bomb when speaking to me, which i did in return. As a salesman myself, I don't think I have EVER cursed at a customer. You would think after a total of 4 jobs (including my mothers) I would be treated with more respect. The constant delays, no shows, lack of communication and other issues will drive me to NEVER use Silva again. In fact one of my friends when hearing this story this morning told me he needs to refinish his cabinets and wanted to ask me for a recommendation....I told him to stay away. Ricardo will be your best friend when trying to make a sale, but if you read other reviews this isn't the first time he flew off the handle. Its sad that after using Silva since 2012 this is the way I have been treated. bottom line, no one should be treated this way and I do not believe its customer service at all. Do yourself a favor and go elsewhere.
