So I go to this business once every two weeks. Normally I'm pretty satisfied, it's your average salon. Sometimes there are wait times but generally you'll be in and out within an hour. Now I didn't give this a one star because I actually like their service most times. The last two times slowly the service declined. BUT I recently went and I debated on writing a review but , I feel like no one else should have to deal with what I did. The girl doing my pedicure not really sure on her named she's a little hefty , I was actually happy she would do my pedicure because from all the times I've gone (over 6) she always directed the person doing my nails so assuming this would be a great experience ... well I was wrong she didn't ask what pedicure I wanted which is funny I usually get the most expensive one they offer ... she started doing my nails rushing. I get gel ... so she had to take off the color the drill was so high it literally burned when she was taking off the polish I told her and she ignored it. Then she proceeded to just rushing through the pedicure that she ultimately chose for me. I don't like to complain so I'm like let me just let her do her thing. She finishes ... so any person knows after two weeks or acrylic it's grown out ... it would need a fill in ... this is her profession so I'm sure this isn't new to her. I told her the gap between the old acrylic and the growth ... she held my foot at a different angle and said you can't tell if you look at it like this. I have no idea what optical illusion she was trying to convince me of but I said no I don't like it. This is when the customer service flew out the window , she caught while obvious attitude , started roughly handling my foot LOL like lady relax ... once again the drill came out she was forceful as heck, felt like my foot was being wrestled. Then she tells me I'm done .. LOL she left acrylic dust all over my toe I told her ... is she not going to put lotion or anything ... it was honestly one of the worst experiences I have had, was really unfortunate because I liked this place but I won't be returning. read more

Saw that this place had great reviews on here, so decided to come in and get my acrylic set refilled. It took about 30 minutes to get to me while I was waiting on my friend. It was well worth the wait, in my opinion. Ron had all of the attention to detail. My coffin shape was perfect, and that middle finger had fallen off my last set, but he reshaped the new one to match. Overall, a pretty long visit, but well worth the wait. Will be back again. read more

On vacation for a few weeks, & came here on a whim to get my nails done for the Marine Ball. I got a pedicure, along with a full dip powder set, & two nail repairs. There was no wait--they seated me immediately after my walk in. I'm so picky about where I choose to get my nails done, but Hannah did an incredible job on both my hands & feet. She did exactly what I asked for & fixed anything I asked. Furthermore, the ambiance was quiet, relaxing, & peaceful. I 10/10 recommend & will be returning the next time I'm in the area. The only reason i gave 4 stars instead of 5 was because the equipment used to file the old dip powder on my nails was too hot, & hurt if she filed one nail for more than a few seconds. Other than that, the experience was amazing. read more

Went here with a friend to get a mani-pedi, the prices seemed pretty reasonable. However, it could definitely be cleaner. The color choices seemed to be pretty good though, and the girls seemed really nice. When we walked in we didn't get greeted & didn't really know what to do - BUT it was pretty busy. read more

I am new to the area. I went here with my girlfriends hoping we found a nail place. The wait time was a little long. We had gone for pedis/full set/ dip. My friend had gotten her feet done first. This was so rushed. She didn't do her cuticles, hang nails , or even lotion. I sat in the chair waiting with people walking around. My other friends full set took 20 mins....what? So when my friend comes from the pedi chair to the nail bench before the lady starts she pulls out band aids. She didn't even do them to her liking. Leaving powder clumpy and bubbles. I am now getting my toes done having to ask to do my hang nails twice. Once they started she had to have someone come over and I guess confirm what she was doing is correct. And I move to get my nails done. Nails and powder was left over before the girl before me. And forgot to mention that the pedi chairs I don't believe were properly cleaned. Anyways I wanted dip on my natural nails. Everything turned out good but she kept making my nails shorter and shorter. Only downfall to that.... I do not recommended going in here. Unless you have been having good experience okay. read more

Just moved here from Ca and researched through yelp reviews on nail salons and found this place to have the best ones. The wait was a bit longer then I expected it to be but the end results were worth it. Max did my nails and they came out just the way I asked no flaws whatsoever. I found my new every two weeks spot and I'll definitely be back for max services! Thanks ! read more

This Nail Salon is horrible, the wait time was short but when i was up i was rushed. I got a full set of acrylics with gel polish. The nail techs name was sam. He rushed me out in 20 minutes. He did not prep my nail before the tip and acrylic properly and when i asked for ballerina/coffin shaped he cut barley any off, and also cut them too short. When it came to using the acrylic he didn't let the liquid saturate the powder before shaping. After all this he moved on the polish where he rushed process not curing it all the way and getting it on my cuticle. The worst part is when he applied the clear coat he rushed it not letting it cure under the uv light properly and i now have dirt in them. I payed 40 dollars for garbage. read more

Had my nails painted there today, each hand is a different color and is so messy it looks like I did it myself and they charged me $20 for it. Will never go back. read more

Highly recommended !! I've been to many nail salons in Jacksonville within my 20 plus years of living here and my first experience was the 1st time I left highly satisfied !!! read more

Hanna was great! She is very gentle and precise. She did my color change. I got gel polish. It was a great price. I didn't get cut like at other salons. I'm coming in for a fill today. :0) I have found my new shop. I can't believe it had taken me this long to find this place! Next time I will get a pedicure! I don't know the name of the color I get but it looks just like the pic I showed her of what I wanted. Even when I needed my thumbnails shaved down a bit since I like thinner acrylic Hanna did it for me! I'll be back in two weeks! Love this shop! Highly recommended! read more

This place was just ok. Went with a friend and we were not greeted when we first walked in. The people were generally very nice though! Some really nice color choices were offered. The cleanliness could have been better as far as sanitary procedures. read more

Wonderful Richard did my nails! This place is much better than aloha and more friendly and not rushed. Very short wait. I love my nails I'll be back! Richard was even able to fix my cracking nails. read more

This is the second nail salon I've been too and I think I found a keeper. The first nail salon I went to definitely messed up my nails and they were all uneven and way too thick. Coming here, they fixed up my nails and they look amazing! I'm so happy with the way they turned out and the service I received. read more

They were so nice here!!! Greeted with smiling faces and my nails and eyebrows I absolutely love. Try this place you won't be disappointed. Lots of nail colors and they have the different color nail powders too. Prices are great compared to aloha and I had absolutely no wait. This will be my nail salon now. read more

I has such an amazing experience here. Great enough that i felt the need to download yelp to let everyone know! I usually go to aloha and get good work done there too but their wait was too long today so I tried NC nails for the first time and I was not disappointed!! Everyone was very attentive and did a beyond amazing job in a timely manner for no more money than I pay anywhere else. I will be returning. read more

Worst service. Or no service is more like it. Went in to have my gel nails removed and a manicure. I waited 20+ mins. The techs looked annoyed by my request of service and was passed off to 3 different nail techs. All to which asked me to switch chairs yet again. At that point I was the one annoyed by them and walked right out. read more

I just had the absolute BEST leg and foot massage I've ever had with a pedicure, done by Eric! This was my 1st visit to NC Nails and I came in about 40 minutes before their closing time on a Friday evening. They had no problem taking me and I had no wait! I will say that the other parts of the pedicure felt somewhat rushed, but I'm really hoping it's not an "all-the-time" issue. Its SO hard to find a salon that does wonderful pedicures in Jacksonville, Swansboro, etc...I will return to NC Nails for future pedicures! read more

I am updating my review. They really messed up my hands. To the point where I am having to go to the doctor. I have acid burn. Not good. Also they cut my fingers in several places when they did the manicure! My hands are now bandaged up and ruined! I'm in so much pain, and would not recommend this place at all! read more

I came in for a pedicure while waiting for my car to get worked on. The location is very convenient, the place is clean and the staff is very welcoming and professional. I was immediately greeted and seated . I got the deluxe pedicure; the lady I had gave a great foot massage. Will def come here again! read more

Honestly if your looking for a massage this is the place, but personally i am very prone to getting in grown nails so I get pedicures done every month. Back home in Texas they CLEANED your toe nails in the sides around it was amazing I myself felt clean! But in this salon I paid 50 dollars for a pedicure I didn't want i had chosen a 25 dollar pedicure but when she put the hot towels and this liquid in a bag on my feet I asked if this was the same 25 dollars pedicure but she just laughed and walked away when I went up to the register her and the guy talked in a different language and charged me 50 dollars definitely not coming here again for not even clean nails just a massage and color now I need to spend money again on my nails since I can already feel in grown nails forming. read more

After living here for 8 years and having visited almost every nail place in town, I can say that I love NC Nails, been going there for 4 years. The place is spotless and service is great! read more

Excellent! My boyfriend, my brother, and myself went here to get pedicures on Sunday around 2:30pm. They were fully staffed, and we only had to wait about 15 minutes before we were all seated. Everyone in the shop was very friendly. The pedicures were amazing--I would say the best calf and foot massage I've ever had! We didn't feel rushed, and the woman who painted my toenails did a phenomenal job. I would highly recommend to anyone! We will absolutely be back in the future. read more

This place was seriously amazing. I wish I got the girls name that fixed me up. I came in here with messed up acrylics that I got done at oasis nail salon. The gel was so thick and I also got one of the acrylics ripped off at work in an accident that took off some of my actual nail. She fixed the gel and I'm so happy with it. I was afraid that the nail that was ripped off would be too short to fix but she make it look just as good as the others. The staff was all so friendly and easy to talk to. The price is the same as most places but she did such a good job. I found my new favorite nail salon in this area. The inside is nice as well. The outside doesn't do it justice. Definitely worth trying out.! read more

I've been coming here for almost a year to get my eyebrows done and they're usually pretty consistent. Today, I was used (without my permission) as a test subject for a young lady who did not know how to wax eyebrows. I sat in the chair and explained exactly how I wanted my eyebrows. She butchered one of my eyebrows and when I brung it to her attention, she grabbed the young lady who usually does my eyebrows. The young lady came and took over. I don't speak the language they speak but it only took common sense to realize she was giving her a lesson on eyebrow waxing while she was waxing my eyebrows! Of course I was apologized to and I didn't have to pay but it's ridiculous to use customers as test subjects without their knowledge or permission. My eyebrows are ruin and I'm pissed. Probably won't be going back. read more

Clean, organized, efficient, no wait time and if there is it's very minimal. Wish it was possible to give 0 stars. Worst nail place in Jacksonville. First off I waited 30 minutes then when I finally sat down to get my nails done the lady who was doing my nails got up and left (she said she was picking her kids up from school) so for about another 30 min I was sitting there waiting for her to come back to finish and then got my eye lashes done but she never mentioned that they don't take them off and just told me to use baby oil which didn't work at all because they put the glue directly onto my lashes and not on my lid like you're supposed to so when I got them taken off at another nail place in town it took MY lashes off too. DONT GO HERE. read more

I arrived at around 6:50 p.m with my niece for pedicures and I needed a full acrylic fill and no chip, by the time they were done with both of us it was almost 8:30 and the shop closes at 7:30. We were not rushed at any point during our time there, they were very accommodating, offered us water and did a great job on our nails. They were also very patient with my niece, who is only 6. I will be back! Great service! read more

Very clean, friendly staff, lots of colors to choose from. I asked for an almond shaped nail and showed the nail tech a picture of what I wanted. It didn't come out exactly like the picture (which I expected) but she did a great job. It's my first time having acrylic nails and I'm pleasantly satisfied read more

I will start by saying that I can be very difficult when it comes to my personal grooming but when that is the first thing people see I think you have to be. I have been to several salons since moving here and did not have any luck until I found this place. My first visit was on a whim and I just popped in for a fill. I barely walked in the door when I was greeted by several employees. I told them I was just looking to do a fill and was immediately placed in a chair. I cannot speak for all the nail techs but Sam is absolutely the BEST!! My nails, hands and feet, have never looked better. I am very impressed with the spa chairs for pedicures, the cleanliness, and professionalism!! I will continue to come here as long as we live in the area and I will highly recommend it to other people when asked. read more

I used to come here for 2 years. Apparently while I was away they went downhill. I went in today to get a manicure and design. I had to repeat 5 times when asked what color I wanted. I wanted white with a design on two nails. They kept telling me what color to choose until someone who spoke better broken English than the rest clarified what I wanted. The man painted my nails white, then tried putting the topcoat on until I explained, again, NUMEROUS times I wanted a design. After waiting 15 minutes, I picked my design and went to the airbrush station. Surprise surprise, their airbrush didn't work. I asked if anyone could draw SIMPLE lightening bolts, and apparently none of their "technicians" cant do anything but flowers. Isn't a lightening bolt easier than a flower?! Anyways, after spending an hour and a half there, it was too late to go to another salon to fix my nails. If the "technician" wasn't so busy stopping my nails to check his phone or talk to his coworkers I could have gotten my nails fixed by another salon. I will never go here again, I am so disappointed in the service. read more

I had never got my nails done until I came here, not knowing much about getting my nails done, i came in and told them my job required a certain length. yesterday I went here because so far, I've been on a search for a decent place to get my nails done here in Jacksonville. Since this place is close to my work, and I've seen it before, I thought I'd try it out. The massage chairs for the pedicure were probably the BEST I've ever sat in. Seriously, and I've been getting pedicures for many many years. THE BEST. The foot and leg massage was amazing, not rushed, soothing and relaxing. Great job, VERY friendly. It was busy, so I did have to wait between pedicure and manicure, but that was fine. The manicure was just as good as the pedicure. I even found this place to be cheaper than other places that I've been to around town. I usually spend about $50 ($42+tip) for a manicure pedicure and that's for shitty service. Here it was $15 for fills and $23 for a awesome pedicure. So, $38 is a good deal to me. I'll go back here for sure. I think I finally found the spot I've been looking for. My nails look great! read more

My favorite nail salon since moving to this place! I come here for manicures/pedicures/waxes and I have ALWAYS been satisfied. The one time I had a bad experience which was the time it took waiting to get my nails done because the staff was overwhelmed with customers, they made it up to me. I just had to come back at a later time after finishing my errands and they gave me a discount. The only other place I tried that I had a good experience was Magic Nails, but I felt their prices were inconsistent and high. read more

I am new to the area and tried N C Nails out based on being told by locals to come here. The women that took care of me did a wonderful job on my pedicure and took her time to take care of my nails and cuticles properly. I will be coming here for all my nail needs for here on out. read more

I have used this place for many years. I too have been kept waiting beyond belief. The door opens.....hi howvarebyou....then nothing. You pray they don't forget about you. With that said they do a good job on my nails but customer service is terrible. read more
