This place is pretty great! Not a high end nail salon, but incredibly detailed, consistent, clean and friendly. Which is exactly what I am looking for when I am trying to find a new nail salon. Downside is you can't make appointments on Sunday. But, other than that it's consistently great work every time! I see Tina and she's sweet, kind, hard working and talented. I have never left disappointed and always happy with the work she does. I see them cleaning after every client, which keeps my inner clean freak happy. I love to go to Majic Nail Salon because they always do my nails exactly like I want them and they outlast any other place I've been. The original owners are back and have redecorated everything and added all new chairs and stations. Tom and Kelly are fantastic and truly care about all the client. My technician rushed through the whole process. Did not push cuticles back. The acrylic is so thick. I told her the nail was crooked but she said it was the shape of my finger (thumb). My daughters pedicure lasted 5 minutes. I've never seen anything like this place. By far the worst experience I've ever had at a nail salon. This place sucks. I went in around 330 today and asked ahead of time if they could still take me in for a mani pedi and shellac, they said yes. I was hesitant on color since I usually only get light colors or nude colors. So I asked my assigned technician is she could let me try one colored nail in matte first so I can see if I was ok with the color. She didn't understand that I needed to be ok with the color before committing even with as many times as I tried explaining to her that I am hesitant with color. A different technician came by and asked what I wanted, to which I explained again that I wanted to see how the color looked in matte before commuting to the whole set. So she obliged and I didn't mind the matte so I said yes, "It looks great, thank you". She was worried that it wouldn't dry in time before they closed at 5pm but assured me that if I was hesitant with my nails they had enough time to do a trial nail since the lights helped to dry the nail. It was close to 430 now and the second technician had left. I was with my original technician and I explained again that I wanted to see what one nail looked like before committing to the set. She obliged and we tried one nail. It didn't look matte, and I asked for a second coat to see if it would reduce the gloss. It did not. That's when all chaos ensued. She started yelling at me and asking what I wanted because she had put down the first coat of shellac only for me to not like how the nail came out. Then some random man who had been cleaning came up to me and started yelling at me. Also asking what they were supposed to do now that she had put the first coat down. As if they lost hundreds of dollars on my one coat of nails. He started getting in my face and yelling at me to tell him what my problem was. I stood my ground and asked them to stop yelling at me to which they said they weren't and started laughing. I'm not sure why this was a huge issue but they made me so uncomfortable and slightly like I was in danger. I asked her to just change the one blue nail to a clear coat and let me be on my way. I paid $45 for someone to yell at me and make me feel so horrible for wanting to be sure of what I wanted. Needless to say I'm never coming back to this worthless place. They had no right to yell at me if all they wanted was to leave at 5 on the dot. Don't waste your time coming to this place. I can also upload the video of them yelling at me. read more

I just moved to Jacksonville from San Diego, CA and I have become very particular with where I get my nails done. Fortunately, I found Magic Nails and I am so happy I did. Every single employee is great and I have always left happy with my nails. They are all friendly and make sure to give you the best possible service. It can get busy at times but they work quickly and will tell you realistically what the wait time is. Susan is one of my faves and is really talented at nail art. I thought I'd finally found my go-to! HOWEVER. The past three times (I wanted to stay a loyal customer, what can I say?), I've gotten uneven nail shapes, uneven paint & one nail significantly shorter than the rest (a different nail each time). Everyone at this shop is very nice but the quality was not good. I got a gel pedicure and twenty minutes later three of my nails the paint came completely off. We went back the next day and they were happy to fix them. Got home and the paint started coming off again. The paint wasn't very neat on my toes either. I have gone there a few times and most times I've had the thin lady with very long black hair work on me. She's probably one of the only technicians who speaks English. Anyhow, she is a little rude. After getting a Gel filling and a pedicure I asked to get my eyebrows and lip waxed. The first time she gave me kickback saying there's only one lady who does waxing and due to Covid she's not sure if she's comfortable with that. I was understanding and I asked the wax technician anyway. The lady agreed. Great. Just last week I got my hands and feet done and asked to get waxed and again the same lady gave me kickback only this time her excuse was "there's only one lady who does waxing and she's busy doing a pedicure. We are all very busy right now". Wow I've never had a nail establishment deny service to me. In my experience, if one person is being requested for waxing and they are busy, someone else will step in to continue the pedicure to free up the technician to handle the waxing. I ended up leaving and going to another nail salon just to get waxed. I'm never coming back to this place. read more

I went to Magic nails for a girls night when I first moved to Jacksonville. I liked the fact that they were willing to work past their regular hours for our group and the place was opened only for us. So I went back later as a regular customer to get a pedicure. I was again impressed. There was no wait despite it being close to pay-day. The cost for a pedicure compared to other places is comparable, about $30 with a sea salt scrub. Several months later, I opted to take my daughter for her first pedicure. She was scared of the water at first but Lily made her relax and painted her nails instead. They didn't charge me for my daughter even though they did cut and paint her nails. When I tried to take her again 6 weeks later, she actually tried out the water and got the full treatment. They were so patient with her and even fixed her nails without irritation when she tripped and messed up three nails. The staff is extremely friendly and remembers customers they see frequently. The area is very clean and taken care of well. I would recommend this place to anyone. When you go in, ask for Lily. Went to Magic Nails for the first time yesterday. I was really impressed!! I think I've been to nearly every other nail place in the area and end up moving on because I'm not pleased. I had a pedicure with sea salt scrub and clear shellac mani. The total was very reasonable, and about what you'll pay anywhere in the area. Everyone was very professional and the atmosphere is quite nice. Word to the wise-- it looks like the regulars bring their own polish!! It was my first time going here about 3 weeks ago. I got a full set of gel nails with pink sparkly tips. Paid $45 which is the average price for gels and refills are only $22 but if I want to change the color on my tip it's an extra $10. Staff was friendly and knowledgeable. Visited location for the first time on 12/17 and have 0 complaints, my list of pros are below 1. They don't push unnecessary services on you like the "super deluxe pedicure". 2. They have a very impressive selection of gel colors and were able to find a matching regular color for my toes. 3. The lady who did my nails and toes was pretty cool and spoke English majority of the time. Even suggested I take biotin to strengthen my nails. 4. I walked right in without a wait. I walked in around 1pm. 5. Free wifi. As I said, no complaints. I received a gel manicure with pedi cure and received the paraffin wax on my hands, total bill was 60$, which is typical. I came here for a birthday pedicure (and to get away from the kids). I had a nail salon I LOVED back in Quantico, so my expectations might be a little high, but Magic Nails was definitely a good spot for a pedi. It cost $23 for a regular pedicure here. It's more than I paid in Quantico, but whatever. The main reason for my 4-star review is because I really liked the girl that did my pedicure. She was really nice, took her time and did a great job. What I didn't like was how close the spa chairs are together. It's really awkward trying to climb in and out of them since they are so close. They had a decent selection of nail polish colors to choose from and I left a happy camper. I'll come back. FYI: They do accept credit cards, but you cannot leave a tip on the card. I gave stars only because the staff is so friendly and sweet! But unfortunately my nails turned out terrible. My mother, sister in law and I all got our nails done and neither of us were really satisfied. My moms gel polish was sloppy but hers were definitely the best set out of the 3, my sister in laws were very uneven, and mine were uneven, lumpy, really thick and worst of all my natural nail was filed down so far I had several hot spots on my nails. I asked for coffin shape nails but they were more towards square even after I asked 3 times to file them down more and more. I refrained from posting this review for a while because I felt bad but after removing this set I had to wait a few weeks for my nails to grow back out because they were so thin and damaged from the set. If you choose to go here I would recommend telling them to be gentle and careful while filing your natural nail. read more

The only reason I would give this place 2 stars is because they are practically the only nail salon in Jacksonville that is open on Sundays, and because I got a pretty great eyebrow wax. Otherwise, I was disappointed. I went in on a Sunday afternoon to get a standard pedicure, no-chip manicure, and an eyebrow wax. The place was incredibly understaffed for the number of customers that came in, and it seemed the staff was more interested in the number of customers they could squeeze in before 4pm (closing time) than the quality of the service and experience. My nail technician barely talked to me, and used the wrong color, then looked at me like I was at fault. I felt rushed through the manicure and pedicure, and that my wax technician was doing my eyebrows at light speed (which was fine, actually). My nails chipped within 3 days, and I don't mean a nick here and there. Chunks came off, and it's not like I was doing yard work or anything. Save your pennies. Go somewhere else. read more

I figured I'd give them one more try today and I was charged 20 dollars for gel removal and filed nails. I didn't receive any color or anything. The quality wasn't even all that for the service. I don't understand why I was charged 20 dollars. I will never go back to this place again. I've had better nails done in my hometown for 20 and they always make sure you are satisfied with the work before you leave. Friendly staff. I recommend Jan. She gave me the best calf and foot massage during my pedicure. My toenails were straight and my heels totally smooth. She did a great job. The only reason I didn't give this 5 stars is the price. I came here from Cali and for the ultimate pedicure it was quite a bit more expensive and no hot stone massage.
