I love Twee, Charlie, Brittney, and Mia. I believe the name recently changed to VO but the same location. They have fair pricing and many color options. They fixed chips for me; that was probably my fault. I love the dynamic between Twee and Charlie. It feels like an old sitcom. If you become a regular, they will treat you like family, and you'll be included in random conversations while watching Lifetime TV. *Don't worry if the show is sad. The woman usually becomes empowered and goes on to live her best life. Unless, of course, she's the antagonist, and then she should lose. read more

If I can No star definitely I will. Im not picky, but I never had a bad experience like this ever in my life. This was the worst ever. 1. They were talking crap about other customers in front of me. 2 They were way too tough and caused pain and she also rushed too. ( i dont understand why they so rush NO customers waiting.) I thought my whole nail was going to come out. Too much pulling my wrist to the point where it caused pain. 3 They didn't listen and didnt ask me what I wanted. So i show them to picture and told them I wanted a matte look. At the end of the nail appointment it was extremely shiny and the design was awful. 4. I don't really care about how much it's going to be. If they try they best and more care for customer but she told me the price was $55. When it was time to pay she charges $65 instead. Is this a f***ing joke?? Im done. This is the worse experience I ever had. I'll never ever go back again. I want take off these nails. Very bad customer service. read more

I was skeptical after I sat down and I wasn't loving how she was shaping my finger nails but I went with the flow. Then when she started the polish it was so thick and globby I don't think it would have ever tried. Luckily the color was too dark so she took it off and started over. The polish looked better but a little messy. I did the deluxe pedicure but they use just the jumbo container of scrub and lotion, no upgrade on product. She did do a nice long scrub and massage. That's where the 2 stars comes in. The next day I started noticing areas where the polish was a lighter color. Shortly after it started peeling off. Less than 24 hrs and 3 nails have peeled off polish. Not impressed with the quality but she seemed to really want to do a good job. The lady taking care of me repeatedly walked to the back and left me sitting under the light for a while without checking on me. I haven't visited this place in a long time to treat myself in a long time, until yesterday. I am very unhappy with how my experience went. The people were sweet and friendly but I am not happy with my full set and I was not expecting to pay $60 for something I didn't leave happy with. Some of my nails are kind of bumpy, a few are crooked and the lady cut them way shorter than I wanted. The way she cut them I didn't know they were going to be that short. I am someone who has a real issue with my nails lifting within 2 weeks of getting them done. Always was told it was my nail bed that was causing it, so I just got used to them being that way and spending 50 to 60 every 2 weeks to keep them up. After coming to Twee I am able to keep my set on for 4 weeks, minimum without them lifting at all. Her products are top of the line and you always feel like family there! Thanks guys! read more

The care the owner took when fixing my acrylic nails was above and beyond what I expected. She made them look 100% more natural and beautiful. Awful! First off there was only Twee sitting in there when I walked in. She asked me what I wanted then made me sit down. She sat down in front of me so I thought she was about to do my nails...no she started doing her own! Then got up to finish another ladies I didn't know was there. I sat for about fifteen minutes when another guy walks in. He put down his shopping back and started doing my nails...and it got worse from there. He rushed me so that he could eat lunch. None of the nails were the same length, they were all uneven and I wanted to cry. I showed him what I didn't like and he said he didn't understand and they looked good..Worst experience and will not be going back. read more

Nail Perfectionist's - We Have Found a WINNER!! I have been trying nail salon after nail salon, and THIS is the first place that EXCEEDS the quality nail work from back home.. here in Jacksonville, NC! I got a true pink for my pink and white acrylic fills, and took a suggestion for colored tip (rather than the white fill) with a pin stripe, and I like them. (Granted I am a true French Manicure regular.) The most important part of my acrylics is the look and feel of the shape. From the square shaping to the actual acrylic from nail bed to whites. Twee nailed it!! (okay fine, pun intended) I didn't have to give direction. I said "Yes" to the length, and she completed them perfect the first time. Amazing. Can't wait to go back and get my pedicure. The only reason Twee's didn't get 5 stars is because I didn't get all my regular services, nor have visited every nail salon in the area. For the ULTRA PICKY: Granted this is a salon in a strip mall, this isn't the Taj Mahal, but they have designed it, and invested some money into it's "salon" feel. I have always walked into salons in this area and smelled musty moldy pedicure beds, towels, or just the entire salon.. Twee's Nails had NO mold smell. Not even a little bit! This is HUGE for me! Not impressed at all. My husband and I went here for pedicures today. Place is very clean, very nice looking but they are painfully slow and don't listen well. We wanted to have mani pedis each and when she was done with our pedis it had taken so long that we said oh don't worry about the manis, and she goes "oh I had forgotten". Not only did she take forever to go get supplies, come back, fill water, etc. The pedicures were pretty pathetic. She only trimmed half my nails down, didn't cut back the cuticles well or 'get into the nails beds' like we prefer. We only went here due to having breakfast and time constraints on getting back to our kids after reading the reviews. Next time we will plan better and be sure we go to Tracy's in Swansboro like we typically do. read more

I would give this place less than one star if I could. I went in for a manicure a few weeks ago. The man who "greeted" me (he asked rudely "what I wanted" and then pointed to a seat in the waiting area and walked away) was less than kind. I didn't wait long, but I was appalled at the service here. The woman who did my nails roughly jammed my cuticles (sans any type of cuticle oil) and then put on sloppy polish without a base coat, lotion, or any other parts of of a normal, routine, enjoyable manicure. She then sent me over to dry my nails while she began another client's pedicure (she clipped this clients toenails while sitting on the floor at a manicure station). After a few minutes she realized she didn't put a topcoat on my nails either, so she came back over to slap some on before turning back to the other client. Worst service ever! Everyone here is a joy to talk to. I've been coming here for years and the service is always pleasant. There are times where service is slower but that is usually because of the high volume of customers they have coming through the door, which in my opinion, isn't a bad excuse. Unless they close down I won't be looking for a new salon any time soon. read more

I gave it one star for effort but their waxing services are aweful. I have received far better quality work with attention to detail from a lower end salon in Los Angeles therefore i expected more from this nice looking place. I expect an eye brow technician to put more work into shaping eye brows and not simply doing the bare minimum. I felt all my waxing services were rushed and i don't believe i should have to tell them how to do their job. They are the experts therefore they should know exactly what to do. I have been to this place numerous times, mostly for eyebrow waxing, but also for mani/pedi. The mani/pedi is fine, nothing spectacular, but fine. It doesn't last too long, maybe 2 days. Other nail places I've gone to usually lasts me a week. So that's disappointing. I really wanted to make a review to talk about the waxing. For the first year I've been going there the owner, Twee, always did my waxing and my eyebrows looked amazing. In the past month, however, I first experienced a younger female who made my eyebrows to short. After letting them grow back, I figured I would give the salon another shot, as long as the young female was not doing the waxing. This time it was an older female, who again ruined my eyebrows!! They were lop sided and had no arch. Seeing as Twee is the only one who can do even close to a good job and she's always busy I will never go to this "salon" again.
