The experience with J&C was quite the opposite: excellent communication, fast response for quote, competitive pricing, very knowledgeable, and the floor was repaired quickly and correctly. Was given a quote after numerous times asking for it. When trying to arrange to have other items repaired in home and schedule installation, they just vanished. This is very unprofessional behavior, especially since I have a year's warranty on my flooring. James will likely reply to this with a he said she said sort of shaming, but this next problem is indefensible: now our flooring is breaking and they won't respond to me when I've tried to contact them. I think it's a manufacturer error, but it could be installation. I know my daughter's motorized wheelchair is part of the wear, but they knew we needed something that could handle that. The LVP boards are lifting and the corners breaking. It's troubling that they won't stand by their work or help facilitate communication with the manufacturer. (Also, if anyone knows how to get in touch with Nuvelle flooring, who made our LVP, I'd appreciate it!) ((I do see James likes to post personal emails to make himself look innocent here. I was slammed at work and they offered to have their Flooring Specialist with their Mobile Showroom Division meet me at the property! Drew met me on time (when does that ever happen!) with a great selection of samples! He was EXTREMELY knowledgeable and very quickly narrowed down what would be the best for durability and in my budget! We set up the whole project in a few short taps on his iPad and it went flawlessly!!! Drew was awesome to work with! He was pleasant, knew his products extremely well, didn't waste anytime and was very responsive with follow up questions etc! We HIGHLY RECOMMEND Brentwood Carpets and Drew - in their Mobile Division!!!!!!

Uploaded photos. We had a Karastan LVT flooring installed on our second floor; the total cost for…read morematerials and labor was over $17,000. Since then, we've run into multiple problems, and honestly, it's been incredibly frustrating. Problem 1: Promised One Thing, Got Another We chose a more expensive floor than we originally planned because we were told it had a flush stair cap trim piece. That was important to us because we wanted a seamless, flush transition at the top of the stairs -- no overlap. The flush pieces were on our order and we paid for them. But when the installers showed up, they used an L-shaped piece that created a noticeable lip. When we asked about it, they told us a flush piece didn't actually exist for that floor. So basically, we paid more based on bad information, and there's nothing they could (or would) do to fix it once the floor was already being installed. Problem 2: Boards With Permanent Marker Some of the boards that were installed have purple marker lines under the clear coating. We were told it happened during manufacturing and couldn't be cleaned. The installers admitted they should have caught it and not used those planks. They offered us a few hundred dollars off or said they could replace them, but doing so would require ripping up a large section of flooring, which could cause more damage. They planned to reuse the removed boards, even if they were damaged in the process. Since there wasn't enough extra material to replace them all we'd have to pay for additional boards ourselves if we didn't want them to reuse what they ripped out. We decided not to risk it, covered those boards with furniture and rugs, and took the discount. Problem 3: Gaps in the Hallway In the hallway, 4 boards were cut too short. So now, when the humidity changes, they shift, leaving a 1/2" gap between the floor and the shoe molding, exposing the subfloor. That's about two feet of wall with subfloor showing for half the year. They tried to fix it by gluing and nailing the boards down, but that only worked temporarily. Again, the solution offered was to tear up a big section of the floor, but with the usual warning that it might cause more damage. So once again, we left it alone. Looking back, we probably should have taken the risk of further damage and let them replace those 4 boards. It looks awful. Problem 4: Boards Separating in the Bonus Room In our large bonus room, about 20'x24', some of the boards have started separating, leaving visible gaps. At this point, I haven't even contacted them about this issue, based on how the other problems were handled, I'm not optimistic that anything helpful will come from it. So this one is on me. This year, when we replaced the floor on the main level, we went with a completely different company. When we showed them photos of the upstairs install, they were shocked and told us we should have filed formal complaints and probably could have taken it even further. Honestly, the whole process took so much time, stress, and energy that we just didn't have it in us to keep pushing. If you're considering working with them, be careful, make sure you can actually get what they promise, and keep a close eye on the installation. After reading other reviews, I'm really hoping this was just a bad install crew and that they're no longer around.

Altogether they installed carpet, hardwoods, a stair runner, and mohawk laminate flooring. Once we offered on our new home, we needed the carpet replaced in our old house asap so we could list it. They replaced the carpet in two bedrooms and closets in one day. The photo showing the hardwood was previously carpet and we preferred hardwood against the back door entry. Patrick did a beautiful job. We were going to do LVP in the hallway upstairs but Patrick recommended we try Mohawk laminate. It was a GREAT choice. It's completely waterproof and slip free and really looks like real wood. All work was done at a very reasonable cost. Patrick is very responsive and did a wonderful job.

If I had not spoken to former customers, I would have passed this business by. Things to note: - The communication, payments and scheduling were disjointed and I do agree with Crystal W., the previous poster, on this point. Based on my experience, I would recommend that this company hire an office manager or some type of scheduling/accounting assistant to manage scheduling and billing. Paul appears to manage it all himself and communicates mostly through texts after 9pm, though it is possible to get him on the phone during the day. - Have Paul come out and do the consultation and have everything ready and prepared for your estimate 3 months in advance when you want to get on the schedule-the business is busy and you'll likely need some lead time before getting on the schedule. - For our experience, we paid 50% for the flooring and then the remaining 50% a couple of days before installation. This was done directly with the flooring vendor (not Sedaris); the Sedaris crew will pick up the flooring directly from the vendor prior to installation - Sedaris installation crew were phenomenal-I give them 5 stars. They worked hard, were polite, and made sure everything was clean when they left. - We had one hiccup where the measurements that Sedaris did at our original consultation for our pricing fell short and didn't account for enough flooring-1 or 2 additional boxes of flooring were needed in the laundry area. In the end, Sedaris agreed to pay for the additional flooring and we paid for the additional labor. We felt that this was a fair arrangement and were happy with how that issue was resolved. - After the installation and final payments, we had a question about cleaning some paint stains in the floor (done by separate vendor) and Paul was prompt in giving some helpful tips-I appreciated his helpfulness even after our official business was over. Despite some of the communication challenges with scheduling and billing, if we were to get our floors done again, we'd hire Sedaris. We love our floors.
