When we…read moredecided on the tile we wanted, the big box store sent out their measurement person who had never installed floor tile in his life. I had questions about where cut the 4" waste pipe so that it laid flush on the floor and how to trim around the tub and vanity. He simply told me, "Not my job". After two measurements, and numerous calls to the company, we decided to find another installation company. That's when we found S-Tile on Yelp. Nimsy was very professional and knowledgeable with the installation process. She offered to send an installer out to measure the next day. They sent not just an installer to measure; they sent the person who would do the installation. Alex was great. Not only did he answer all my questions but also told me he would help to ensure the waste pipe was cut to the correct height. He made the measurements on a Thursday, and I got the quote that day. And S-Tile's quote was half of the big box installation. Alex started installing the tile on the following Monday and completed it on Wednesday. The toilet flange sat flush to the floor with Alex's help determining where it needed to be cut. The finish around the tub and vanity are exactly as I asked that it be left for my trim work. We could not be happier with our new tile installation as performed by S-Tile. I would recommend them to anyone wanting an easy process and professional installation. I contacted Greg to remodel 2 bathrooms in my 1950's house. The challenge with my remodel were the…read morefact that the floors and walls were not perpendicular nor flat. Bathroom 1: Hall shower where the shower floor did not drain, leaving 2 gallons of water on the shower floor. The in-wall valve (rough in valve) made noise when the shower was in use. 36" x 36" corner shower. Greg tore out the old showers and started working on the plumbing. He added additional framing to accomodate the new tile, replaced the rough-in valve and some of the existing PEX piping to accomodate the new shower system. He framed out a new shower floor and reworked the floor to allow for great drainage. He water-proofed the backing and floor with the appropriate membranes and started laying the tile to ensure the look was even and straight... a real challenge in any 80 old home! Bathroom 2: Master tub / shower combo which had a recirculation system built into the tub. The mold coming out of the recirculation system was constant and no one wants to take a bath in algee / moldy water, despite numerous cleanings. Greg replaced the tub, old tile and installed a new rough-in valve for the shower. The old floors posed a challenge, but Greg made it work so that the tub was stationary, and installed correctly. The subway tile was installed on 3 walls of the tub, and new plumbing was installed using PEX / Sharkbite compression fittings. I wanted to work on painting the walls, as I am a lot of experience with drywall, flattening and correcting wall blemishes and paint. Overall, Greg to a great job. He overcame the challenges of the non-flat, non-perpendicular walls to ensure the tile lines were consistent across the walls. We worked through the project challenges and he even added a bathroom vent in to the Master bath for appropriate humid air venting. Even after months of use, I see that Greg cares how the tile looks and performs. Greg also installed 2 bathroom vanities (the sink / cabinet) and the associated faucets in both bathrooms. I am now enjoying the new showers, and am seeing the results of the showers actually being quiet! No more loud noises as people shower! The shower actually drains great, without any squeeging of the floor! Plus , they look absolutely fantistic. The vanities work and look great!

Greg is a smooth talker and made it seem like it would all be good. He said payment would be due upon completion although there was no mention of this in the "contract." Turns out "Remove vanity and install custom vanity" means ripping out the large existing vanity, sink, and huge mirror and then popping down the pedestal sink THAT I BOUGHT. Period. Red flag #2: When I asked Greg about the massive drywall damage, he said "Is it in the contract?" The agreement does say he does not cover drywall repair, but this was literally left in a demo state. On Day 2, while the entire floor was ripped up with the crawlspace exposed, Greg asked me for a check. I said I planned to pay him with a credit card and it would take me a few days to move money around to give him the equivalent of cash. Day 3 he walked off the job claiming non-payment. After I calmly explained that I could not be in non-payment because no payment was due, Greg came back the next day like nothing happened... All of the insulations under the half bath was wet so it had to go. Greg did not want anything to do with replacing it. I went out and bought insulation and installed it myself. Either Greg or his plumber, Drew, cracked the first sink basin during install. Luckily Home Depot replaced it with no questions and Drew came back and installed the new one. Drew was actually great. I did all of the leg work for the return, so don't expect Greg to actually stand by his work or take responsibility for mistakes. Greg made it clear he does not do hardwood floor repair and I was fine with that. Turns out, my hardwood flooring guy discovered that there was a strange strip of plywood sub floor installed to fill a gap that was not actually supported. We found out why when he pulled it up. See photos. Don't expect structural repairs to actually connect to other structural members. Don't expect your tile OR subfloor to be level or flat. Don't expect a professional job.

We hired this company to install the same hardwood flooring on the second floor as we already had…read moreon the first floor. They stated the job would take one day, which I thought was not possible, and they required payment up front, (red flag). Steve, the owner, assured us he would ensure we were completely satisfied in the end. We also asked Steve to verify once more that they could install new stair treads and the same flooring on the stairwell landing, he stated they could handle the job. We hired them to perform the work on the stairwell as well. The installers arrived late many of the days they were working in the house, they even left early on a few days and the response from Steve was that we just needed to be patient and not rush their work. The same installers performed the work on the stairs and after the work was complete we told Steve the work did not appear to be complete. The issues were: 1. The trim along the stairs was damaged in certain areas as a result of the install, damage which they did not fix. 2. The treads were nailed in crooked on each step. 3. The previous lip holes in the trim were not filled in, sanded, nor painted. 4. The top lip was replaced with a cracked and crooked transition piece. 5. The risers were damaged and not repaired during the installation of the treads, some had nails protruding from them. 6. The finish on the treads was damaged as a result of the installers attempting to use a brush to touch up a sprayed finish and using matte finish paint on a gloss finish surface. Steve advised us that his company simply installs the tread and we would have to hire a carpenter to handle the rest. We advised NONE of this was told to us prior to the install, nor was there any paperwork provided by him outlining any limitations in what they do and don't do, he agreed to perform the work we requested which ends with a finished product. Steve refused to admit the stair treads had nail holes in them, regardless of the fact he was looking right at them. He did agree to have someone come and make the repairs we discussed, I provided him a business card of a known carpenter. The same installers returned again to perform the finishing work on the stairs and once they were complete the stairs were damaged even further than before, at this point we just told him to stop to prevent further damage. We had a two professionals look at the job and advise us the work was done incorrectly, overall pitch of the stairs was now off at both top and bottom, this has now caused a safety hazard. The treads should have been glued as well, to prevent creaking. Overall they both stated the job did not appear to be finished. This company asks for payment up front, they fail to keep their schedule and provide no contract outlining the scope of the project and or any limitations in what they will do and not do. They do not ensure customer service and change the scope of their services along the way to benefit the bottom line.
