New build house with their "wombat" color scheme
Nick M.

The process from picking out a pattern, scheduling, communication and installation was made easy on me and very professional. My garage floor looks fantastic! It looks like another room in the house instead of a garage! Thank you Casey, Colton, Tommy and everyone else who helped!

Look at this beautiful floor. It is night and day.

I called Guardian Garage Floors to right an egregious wrong caused by Granite Garage Floors. Keith O'Dell owner, operator of the franchise installed an expoxy floor system. It was a nightmare! The "textures" were different depending on where you stepped. There were inconsistencies in the application of flakes and expoxy. The stress joints were filled with hard flakes and milky expoxy. The ledge was rough and sharp and would cut the skin if accidentally graced by. Large quarter sized clumped flakes and expoxy were all over the floor. Some areas looked nice while inched away looked like a different tech applied it. I'd called the owner who claimed it was done well by one of his best. He wouldn't come to look at it but I convinced him to come by asking him to come get the check. He didn't require upfront payment so I asked him to come get the full payment in hopes that I could show him my concerns. He kept overtalking me and claimed it was fine. This man towered over me so I was intimidated. He said he could fix the areas because he had it in his truck but didn't think that it needed it but would if I wanted. This, "I will but, I don't see a problem" went on for several minutes. He finally asked what was I thinking? I said that I was thinking that it didn't matter what I say because you keep trying to persuade me otherwise. He finally taped about ten areas and asked me for Acetone and I told him that I don't wear nail polish so he omitted that step. He sanded with a piece of sand paper and feather brushed the expoxy. This made it look worse. I asked him could he sand the other areas and he refused and told me that I couldn't be pleased. I called corporate to see if another person could come but it is a franchise. He called me livid and told me he wouldn't warranty the product even with lifetime warranty and 100% Customer Satisfaction. I wrote a review and he called me again screaming. He said he'd consider repairing if I paid him and take the review down. I told him that I would remove the review but I wouldn't pay anything. He then told me he'd changed his mind. I asked about the Guarantee and Warranty. He said that I should have thought about that before calling Corporate and posting the reviews. I thought that I would have to live with it. I began looking online and found Guardian Garage Floors. I called that Sunday and Kraige answered. He said he come by Monday and look. He was a punctual. Kraige was honest with me and said that is was bad and it wasn't my imagination as Keith suggested. He offered two suggestions. One, to sand it to were it would be smoother and more uniform but he couldn't guarantee how long it would last. He showed me areas that were already peeling. The next suggestion was scorch the earth, meaning, start all over, sanding the product off to the concrete and building it up, then apply the product back. He had the exact color that I chose the first time. Kraige even sanded, painted and cleaned areas that Keith's employee messed up while here just giving me an estimate. He offered to do other little things while here. I told him how stressed I'd been and it flared my Lupus to the point that I'd been bedridden. He told me, "I got you." And he did. I agreed that scorching the ground and starting over was the best option. He wasn't pushy. He even said if I plan to move in a few years, just apply the top coat or leave it as is. But I wanted it right so we "Scorched the Ground". He went back and told the owner how badly he felt for me and asked to come do the job with the crew. Kraige no longer works on sites but came to me. It took one day and the results are BEAUTIFUL! The two young men that came were kind and professional. I trusted them so much that I left them alone with my door unlock to take my car to dealership. They worked long and hard. I had a doctor appointment and had to leave. They went to lunch and came back before I needed to leave. I felt comfortable leaving them. They cleaned up behind themselves, painted areas that were smudged and locked up. Kraige came today (May 2) along with the owner. She wanted to meet and thank me for choosing the company. She is a beautiful as she is kind. She was empathic and genuine. Kraige took over. He went about putting my garbage and recycling bin back in the garage. He painted areas that he wasn't satisfied with. He replaced my handicap ramp and made it secure and stable. The previous company didn't remove it but lefted it, making it loose and stripped the holes. He asked what there anything else that I needed but never asked for payment. I gladly invited them into pay in full. I truly appreciate them as a company and as good people. I highly recommend them.

Great service. Quality work. And the price I was quoted. What more can you ask for? I would…read moredefinitely hire the Elite Design team again... and I will.

Valentina Cordoba offers nothing Elite about her services. I…read moreended up paying $31k out of $41 for a Lowe's builder grade master bathroom and she never gave us faucets, mirrors, lights or vanities!! She only brought me Lowe's Tile even after I said I didn't want it. All the tile was heavily discounted or being discontinued. She charged us $15,250.60 for the shower and she didn't want to tile to the ceiling. The tile butted out from the crown so much so that we had to have the crown removed and replaced in the shower, which she charged us $2156 for 3 pieces of crown molding. I had to buy more tile from Lowe's later on and it was $3.50 a piece. In a meeting, she mentioned how she wouldn't work with someone who had their own tile even though she kept referring to a client and showing me photos who spent $50k on their bath. Lo and behold she let it slip how that client had their own tile. However, she loved to reference that photo. We paid her $2449.50 to supply and install a frameless shower door. The first shower was broken. She accused us of breaking it! It took total 8 weeks when it was supposed to be 4 weeks and we only got a partial bathroom. Eventually we did get a replacement shower but she refused to just refund that money from the contract and let us have it installed with my new contractor. She only offered a new shower which she ordered on Wayfair for $500. We paid her $412.30 for vanity lights. I was able to see these because she had them delivered to my house. They were $30 each from Amazon! They looked so cheap and dinky. We paid her $375 for mirrors. After seeing the lights, I refused the mirror. In good faith, I gave her back the Delta faucets over $475 with explicit warning that we would not pay for them. She gave some ridiculous reason about insurance and those faucets. At every turn her answers were no, can't be done or pay more. At one point, she told me the look I wanted for my niche was an AI generated photo and that it wasn't real! It was such a farce. We went round and round over a basic built in look I decided for the niches. She talked me out of one large niche instead of 2 citing it would look messy with my bottles. At the time, I agreed. I hate them now because I lost precious space and her worker shorted me even more space by leaving excessive tile overhang all around. To achieve this look, a carpenter needed to perform a miter cut. She referred to her guy as a 'master carpenter.' Any master carpenter should be able to perform a miter cut. Either her 'master carpenter' could not do it or she just refused. She never said why or gave the option for us to pay extra for this one. She cost me a 15 year warranty with my heated floor, which initially she only wanted to do a strip from the door to toilet. She charged me $2778.75 for that strip then told me for $400 more, I could have the entire floor. Of course we chose the whole floor. I had a previous quote from another contractor for $2k on that floor. We now have a 10 year warranty because she didn't own the megohmmeter to perform all the necessary tests required by Schluter for the floor. She also almost ruined my lifetime warranty on parts because she didn't use the specific mortar required. Thankfully, I caught it in time for them to purchase the correct mortar. She refused to give me the warranty info during the installation process which would have clarified she didn't have the meter. She waited until the end and beyond with my husband and I begging her for the warranty information. She was completely unorganized and tried to appear more important than we think she was. Her assistant LIVES in INDIA! She's so cheap she employs a woman who has to work nights to answer your emails. Even her subcontractors, electricians, refuse to work with her anymore. The electrician apologized to me one day because he was standing there during a conversation with me, Valentina and her workers, which btw, she sent her workers home then, stating they were frustrated. Her spanish only speaking workers looked confused. It was 10:30am and they'd only been there maybe an hour. The electrician apologized for Valentina on that day and told me I wasn't the only person who had issues dealing with her, that she can be aggressive and bully ppl into doing what she wants instead of the homeowner. The kicker and the reason we fired Valentina was because she measured the vanities incorrectly. She wanted to cut my door trim or better yet, she wanted her 'master carpenter' to cut the back of the vanity, which may have affected the drawers. She wanted to charge us a custom fee on top of that if they were cut, after the $10k we spent for the vanities. I learned just how inexpensive those vanities were during this process. She later charged us $1500 for a restocking fee for those vanities!! She said she would, "write off that remaining balance for us." Yelp cut me off at 5000 words

What a wonderful experience, working with Floor Coverings International of Cary! We just had…read moreLuxury Vinyl Planking installed in four rooms that previously had carpeting, and we could not be more pleased with the finished product. But even better than the floors themselves was the incredible service. From the initial contact with owner Marty -- genuinely one of the nicest guys you will EVER meet -- to the professionalism and efficiency of his crew, the whole process was smooth as silk. The crew are all great guys, pleasant to interact with. Marty and his associate Mark have been working together for decades, and it shows. They came out one day and took measurements and showed floor samples, then once the materials came in, the entire job took only two days. When these guys say they will be there to start work at 9:00 a.m., there they are -- right on time. These guys are experts at what they do, and their cleanup after the job was perfect. (Mark and crew, thanks for all the extras.) At the end, I felt like I was saying goodbye to friends instead of contractors. Marty Hartwell is one in a million, and I highly recommend Floor Coverings International of Cary. Our floors look fantastic. If the day comes that I have future flooring needs, I will be calling Marty again. Thanks so much!
