Nonetheless, our contact person Madeleine and her crew came out to assess our foundation and cracks and some mold from the humidity in the crawlspace. In the end we went with mold remediation, a sump pump, new vapor barrier, joist lifts, and air sealing to keep out the creepy crawlies. Big ticket expense, but when compared to the competition, we went with them because of the thoroughness with the estimate interview and the willingness to answer all of our questions, they were also well-spoken of on other review sites including a popular large community message board, and the price was pretty comparable. Also, the crew was very good. My only ding would be was not putting the items in the crawlspace back in the order that it was originally, which saved space. But to add to their credit, we have one additional project that needs to be done outside of Little Corner's scope and the new company took a look at Little Corner's work and said "They did a very good job, this is how we would have done it." I hired Triangle Reconstruction back in the winter to repair the foundation at my house. This was a very large project of which I had paid him about a third. On January 11 they caused a fire at my house burning down my kitchen. Rob was very apologetic at first, but when I told him I wanted another company to finish the project he said I owed him a lot of money for the work they did and he claimed that they had completed %80 of the job. Fortunately, I had a reputable structural engineer come out to inspect my foundation before they started working on my house and then I had him come back after the fire. The engineer stated only 1/3 of the work had been completed - if that much ! Rob also threatened to file a stop work order if I did not let him bring 'his engineer' out to look at it. I understand accidents happen and against the advice of many people I was actually willing to give him the opportunity to finish the job and try to help rectify the situation. However Rob's estimate to finish was nowhere close to being equitable and provided no consideration for the hardship he has caused in my life. His estimate even included money owed for work they did in the kitchen which was burnt in the fire that they caused ! He clearly doesn't understand the gravity of this and what my family and I have gone through and what we're still going through. We have been out of our house for almost 5 months now and probably won't be able to move back in for another month or two. My family has suffered tremendously due to this company's negligence.

I hired K Alexander Kitchen and Bath Designers to renovate my kitchen. I had formica Laminates but wanted to update my counters to Quartz. I'd interviewed other companies but thought with a design firm, it would be less stress, a one-stop shop, and they would do the heavy work for me. I've not had the best success with renovations. Being a single female, it is common knowledge that we are usually victims of predators, and for those experiences, I don't go half-cocked but try to be as informed as possible. Even doing due diligence, I still found myself in a 4 month nightmare. They subcontracted with Natural Gallery Stone Kitchen and Bath, and it was an absolute nightmare. I expressed strongly to them that I was having Ankle replacement surgery September 3 and wanted to have it done prior. We discussed this in the latter part of April and began in May. I have been without a working kitchen since then. It wasn't money because I paid upfront and in full. Natural Gallery took their sweet time. The fabrication was terrible, the hole for the faucet wasn't centered and the stone's sheen was inconsistent. It was a high gloss stone but the fabrication caused matte, rough and inconsistent textures. Not to belabor the problem but I was so stressed that I became ill. I thought that I would still be without counters, a sink or a finished product that it flared my Lupus. I was washing my dishes in the bathroom. I literally prayed and was directed to The Countertop Factory. I'd just left a company on Glenwood Ave that I was unavailable, detached, and wouldn't return calls. I sat in a gas station parking lot crying. I Googled Countertop installers, and right down the street is The Countertop Factory! I spoke to a lovely person named Haven. Haven was empathetic and kind. I met with her the very day. I was shown stone and different edges. I also met Nick and Erick. We came up with a game plan. Within 2 weeks of my initial meeting, I have a beautiful kitchen that I'd still be waiting for with the other company. Chris and Michael came today and meticulously installed the cabinets. Every effort to detail was met. Wes is a supervisor. He is direct but considerate. I was so nervous about the job but he promised to take care of me and he did just that. It I'd hard to find companies that care. Workmanship, craftsmanship, and pride are a thing of the past in most cases, but I was blessed to have found a company that puts their customers first, and their reputation for excellence is well earned. The cost is worth every penny because you get what you pay for. If it seems like I am gushing, it is because I am. I highly recommend them! Of course, I was leery of using them to fix the problem. I have owned 3 newly built houses in my lifetime and have never seen a sink fall. I hired a different company to reinstall the sink. I contacted Eric at Countertop and sent him pictures and told him I was having a different company reinstall the sink. Eric contacted the owner and Countertop agreed to pay all my expenses in reinstalling the sink and reconnecting the plumbing. All I can say is the company did the right thing for me. Based on my experience, any proactive issues you can take to avoid any water issues is money well spent. I love how they work with you to stay in your budget but help you to track issues you may see in the future. In our situation, we have a gutter issue that showed up when we had the recent monsoon rain. We're going to fix our gutters (clean them out) but will track a second issue (we also have an issue with the volume of our 2nd floor gutter pours onto our garage roof as the 2nd floor and the garage roof gutter handle the same volume of water which means that if we max out the 2nd floor gutter, the garage roof gutter will be overflowing). They also pointed out that they can fix issues with our porch setting (a common issue given that NC builder often throw all their trash under the porch then bury the trash when they finish their construction). There is an easy fix for that issue. Also, they can fix an issue with our cement driveway slab tilting though it is more expensive given the size of the slab. We'll address this later.

This company is very small and does not have the capacity, talent, experience, expertise, and bandwidth to handle projects larger than one bathroom remodel. I do believe and hope they can handle very small projects but nothing more. They certainly failed us miserably. Because of their size & staffing, Rodas Constriction LLC lack basic structure, organization, communication, discipline, order and quality. Forget about customer service. For example, I visited my house four times during the renovation process. I found windows fully "open", doors unlocked and the air conditioning or heaters on without anyone present. This led to leaks and moisture penetrating various parts of the house afterward. I communicated these issues to Rodas ownership every time without a favorable result. Nothing changed. In fact, Rodas ownership did not accept responsibility and continued their work. Although small, Rodas ownership is "unusually" arrogant and will never admit to wrongdoings, will never accept accountability and will never own they are being negligent. On top of the mismanagement, negligence, and disorganization, the most important problem was that Didier Enrique Rodas and his company, Rodas Construction LLC, failed to apply for and secure construction permits for the structural work as well as permits for plumbing, electrical and other work they had performed. They didn't get the permits to save money and to avoid to doing their work legally, appropriately, and effectively. This act of non-compliance is against all rules and regulations. And...once you pay Rodas Construction LLC in full, they will forever ignore and avoid your issues and requests. They certainly did for us. We still have several exposed drywall openings they had created and don't want to fix. Rodas Construction LLC is very small company with only a handful of employees. But with their VERY small size, they do have a Director of Marketing who amongst other soliciting activities, he manages social media work. Strange...right? For example, this marketing director will soon respond to this post with an elaborate list of excuses for having failed a client who had paid them in FULL. He is the person who responds to all of my complaints to Didier Enrique Rodas. This company will never accept accountability for its faults, wrongdoings and they will NEVER fix issues they had caused. I can write many pages on the issues I had faced with Rodas Construction LLC.
