After many calls and efforts to acquire the plans from the architect, we received them and forwarded them to Michael. Then, we get an email from Susan today saying they are too busy to do the quote or pursue the project due to our timeline, which was just to start the project early next year. I think we dodged a bullet. I have no tolerance for people who give you the runaround and then don't follow through on their end. I run 2 businesses, and if I treated my clients like that, I would have been out of business a long time ago. If you don't have the time to do projects stop wasting potential clients time and just tell them up front that you aren't taking on any new projects.

They were gone for several hours and I finally called the office to inquire and request to cancel the job since the guys disappeared for the day. I ran out quickly and when I got back my husband told me the guys had come and gone. I called the office and asked and the woman on the phone told me...as though it was perfectly normal...that they had simply gone back to my house to collect their tools. They left tarp out, wires hanging out of the ceiling, my designer lights for install tossed in a pile on a side table. Absolutely awful experience all around. Completely unprofessional.

Common theme here with Four Season Sunrooms of Raleigh…read more Bob Gustavson came to our house and we signed a contract on 12/14/2024 for a Four Season Sunroom and a deck. Bob explained that the work should commence in April of 2025 and be completed by end of April 2025. Total job of $65K (10x18 deck and about 13x15 sunroom, just for reference in case anyone wants to know) $18K down payment. Initial framing and demolition started relatively on-time on April 14, 2025. (The workers left the job site a mess, concrete junks left out, 6 full concrete bags left in the driveway on a pallet, dirt piles left in yard that as of June 28th has still yet to be cleaned-up. Grass is now grown over the dirt piles.) End of April came and that is when the delays, lies and excuses began. Upon inquiry to Bob Gustavson, I was given excuse after excuse. Turns out at the end of April, the material for the sunroom had not yet even been ordered?? Another 3-4 weeks. Throughout the month of May no activity was done on the project. Despite continued calls to Bob and empty promises and continued convenient excuses of "rain" is causing delays. We are still (as of June 28th) wondering if the sunroom portion of our project has even been delivered. We continue to be lied to and hearing Bob say that the workers will come out and once they start, the project will be completed in two weeks. Friday, June 6th, Bob tells me the workers will come out first thing Monday morning June 9th. The workers come out on Monday, work for about 1 hour and then leave and do not see them for the rest of the week. You can see from pictures, when the workers started the deck, they took off the siding and now the house is exposed to the elements. Very shoddy work The week of June 23rd, the workers finally come out to start the deck (which should have been the easiest part of the project) and to our astonishment and my wife's disdain, the wrong Trex decking was put down. We had ordered the Biscayne (which was a higher quality product) and Bob Gustavson took it upon himself to order and install the Pebble Grey (two graded lower quality) When we questioned Bob about why the wrong Trex decking was installed he claimed the other color was no longer available. I called Trex and that was a lie, it is readily available. So Bob took it upon himself without consulting with us to install inferior product. The product we chose was written into our contract. So right there, that is the kind of person you are dealing with if you contract with Bob Gustavson and Four Seasons Sunrooms of Raleigh. Bob offered a "discount" for the decking debacle, but it was a low ball offer to try and appease us. Not acceptable. Buyer beware when dealing with Bob Gustavson and Four Seasons Sunrooms of Raleigh. It is obvious that this company has some cash flow issues. Hence the reasons for the constant delays, they cannot work because they need to wait and get money from another client to finish jobs. Bob even admitted to me via text at 12:59pm on Friday, June 27th that "I'm Broke I can't afford it" when asked for a larger discount in regards to the Trex decking debacle. As of this review, the sunroom is not complete, the deck is not complete the yard is a mess.

Really shoddy work and just terrible. They also repitched the gutters to the extreme just dropping the ends to make quick work of it and so they look terrible. They then left out gutter wedges that I then had to call them about and convince them to come back out to put back in. They said via phone I wasn't missing any but I was standing under my gutters at the time and looking up at the gutters and could see them missing. The crew also left garbage from the project around my house. The scrap from cutting out the gutters for downspouts was just left on the ground, the park of the deck they cut out they just dropped on the ground. Really really poor quality work overall.

I say "crew" BUT, these guys were true Craftsman and I mean Craftsman. The Team, Steve, Jacob, Ian, and Bill worked together like a fine tuned machine. A look and a nod in the place of words. WOW. Their personalities made it actually nice to have them around and working on my home. If you have a question, they stop what their doing, follow you, and listen intently with a true response. They even took extra care to help me and be certain my wood blinds would fit the new windows. Extra trim required, Not a problem. I look at these windows and completed installation with pleasing amazement. I'm not kidding, everything looks and operates beautifully. For a guy that's hard to please, I couldn't be happier. Also, their pricing is more than competitive and their products are top rated when you do the investigation. I addition, the painted commented that the woodwork was done and nailed the way it's supposed to be done unlike other work he has seen. Hats off to Todd and his team. From the beginning of the project, both Dmytro and Liu gave valuable input on some of my choices to help bring the vision I had for the bathroom to life. All of the team were incredibly courteous, prompt, and hard-working with major attention to detail and a true sense of pride in their work. A special shout out to Vitaly for doing the meticulous tile work and majority of painting/plumbing. During the project, we hit some small glitches that happen with every renovation, and Dmytro and Liu worked closely with me to navigate smoothly through all aspects of the project to get the desired outcome. I love my new bathroom! On top of everything, at the end of the project, there was an unexpected plumbing problem outside of the bathroom not at all related to the project that Dmytro fixed. Rodas Construction replaced by roof two years ago and did an exceptional job. Enrique personally examined every square inch of my roof, took pictures, and discussed the various roof options available. He also pointed out some places where I had some wood that needed to be replaced around dormers, etc. In addition, the flashing around one of my chimneys needed attention. Enrique and his crew did it all; replaced the shingles, replaced the wood, repaired the flashing and it was awesome. Everything they did and the way they did it was impressive especially the clean up. Every single day the shingles and nails were thrown into a dumpster, not on the ground. After the job was finished they surveyed the ground with a magnet to capture any nails they may have fallen off the roof inadvertently. Here's the best part; one week ago I was told the ventilation in our sun room was inadequate and the shingle cap on my roof may be the problem. I called Enrique the same day and two days later he was on my roof inspecting the shingles and the cap. The good news was, the lack of ventilation had nothing to do with the shingles or the cap; however, Enrique plans to add a device that will increase air flow as a precautionary measure. Enrique and Rodas Construction is all about doing the right thing; you will be making a mistake if you don't choose Rodas to replace your shingles. I could not be more pleased!! After interviewing several roofing/siding companies to repair damage from a hail storm we decided on Rodas Construction. Cole Faulkner provided a detailed estimate to help us gain more understanding of the process. That detailed estimate was the reason we chose Rodas. No other company was willing to do this. Throughout the remainder of the process Cole assisted us by communicating legitimate concerns and provided valuable insight. He was instrumental in getting our insurance company to approve new siding for our entire house when initially only a partial replacement was approved. Eric, the project manager for the siding, also did a great job with communicating the work load and any concerns. The job was completed much quicker than we had anticipated and the team left our property very clean. Rodas also replaced our roof. The project manager, Jhavy, led a very professional team. This was our 2nd roof in 3 years. The last company we used made us very uncomfortable in our own home. We felt very secure with both of Rodas' roofing and siding teams. The billing process was also seamless. There were no surprise charges or fees. We highly recommend this company. read more

Thanks to Cole Faulkner at Rodas Construction for helping us work with our insurance company to make repairs after a tree fell on our house, put a hole in our roof, and damaged our deck. We had originally planned to work with a different contractor, but that person couldn't do the immediate roof tarping needed when a tree put a small hole in our roof and a hurricane was coming in the next few days. I reached out to Rodas Construction, and Cole came out the same day to do the tarping and saved us from almost certainly getting more damage with the oncoming storm. After a few more weeks (with the tarping holding up beautifully), our original contractor fell through, and Cole with Rodas was ready to step in and work with our insurance company to get the work done. Once the final work was planned and the with help from Cole to negotiate with insurance, the Roof was complete in one day, Deck was done in two days. Crews were knowledgeable, efficient, and friendly and talked through the work with me even after Cole's initial planning with me. Thanks for a job well done! read more

I got quotes from several companies to replace my roof, but ended up choosing Rodas based on price and customer service. Chris H worked tirelessly to answer my questions via email and text, day and night. He probably was the biggest reason I chose Rodas, since he provided such great information and truly helped every step of the way. There was an issue with my experience, but it was resolved, so I'm not complaining. The roof job took a day and a half and unfortunately, it rained the night before they finished. The roof wasn't protected well enough in the unfinished part, and so there was damage to the ceiling in my garage and bathroom. However-- Rodas was SUPER fast in getting someone there to check out the damage and make sure repairs were made. I'm happy with the work they did, the prompt appointment for the roof, and the prompt repair and easy, no-hassle process. I'd recommend them if you're looking for a roofer in Raleigh. read more

We like many others experienced severe roof (shingle) damage from hurricane Florence. Roof repair was not an option I needed the entire roof redone. I spent 35 years as an educator, the last 15 in technology, I do nothing without educating myself on the best method. Once I chose the type of shingles I researched companies. I talked to 3 different companies and read many reviews. I chose Rodas Construction (they had 3 locations, Raleigh, Jacksonville and Wilmington) after all the research. We worked with Chris Holland to nail down the particulars. He was very helpful and explained all the benefits of their roofing system (Google GAF Asphalt Shingle Roofing System for more specific details).They sent a team of 10 workers and completely re-shingled a 2100 sq ft house and a 1200 sq ft shop in less than 2 days. My experience with Rodas Construction was exceptional. John Mansueto reviewed a number of options related to roofing manufacturers, line of roofing tiles, construction options, and pricing. He completely answered all my questions. When I had selected my desired options and scheduled a time for installation, the team was on site in the morning, removed all existing materials completely, ensured that all debris, nails and other waste was contained in a waste trailer, completed installation including new skylights during the same day. The next morning one of the team came on site to check there was no waste littering my property and hauled away the trailer. The next week, Rodas's represenative came by to review all the work completed, provide warranties and guarantee paperwork, and review my satisfaction. Rodas is completely professional. read more

This is the 2nd time I've used Rodas Construction with the same amazing results. I would highly recommend them for any roof project as well as siding now. Cole Faulkner did an amazing job as the Project Manager coordinating the siding, window, and gutter replacement I had done. The crew was here every morning by 7:30am and the entire house was re-sided, had new windows, new gutters, and all the other small items outside replaced and painted in 1 month. Everyone working at the house was courteous and cleaned up after themselves. They stick by their word and come back to fix anything that isn't exactly as you expected it. Chris Holland was very knowledgeable and helpful explaining their roof products and the roof installation process. Chris was extremely focused on customer service. He provided prompt response to our phone calls and text messages and kept us informed from start to finish - which was no easy task during the aftermath of Hurricane Florence! From the beginning, I knew Todd Hellier was extremely knowledgeable when it came to giving me an estimate on a rather old roof with structural damage. Like others, he didn't give me a firm price. I wondered then how these other roofers already knew the extent of the structural damage. He was very honest and gave me a estimate based on what would be revealed once the shingles were removed. Was so please with the entire process. Also, Rodas was not the cheapest but I knew if I chose Rodas, I would never ever have to re-visit a roofing problem again!!! We hired Rodas Construction to install new vinyl siding, soffits and wrap existing fascia. We interviewed several companies before them and they were by far the most professional and knowledgeable. Chris Holland explained our options and the materials needed for the job. He was professional and worked with us every step of the way until the job was completed. Rodas put new shingles on my 1200 square foot rental house in North Raleigh. The quote was a little above middle of the range but he built in some buffer to cover the probability of some bad plywood in two spots. The roofing team showed up on time. They protected my shrubs. Discarded the old shingles into a big dumpster. Replaced the plywood. Put on the new shingles. Cleaned up the mess by the end of the day. By the time my tenant got home from work the roofing crew was gone. Beautiful, quality job. That was a short while ago and I've had NO problems with the new roof. read more

We contracted Rodas to repair our roof after water damage was discovered in our house. It turned out that the roof damage was because of a faulty design in the roof shingles. Rodas sent a representative to review the damage with our insurance adjuster and Chris Holland reviewed all of our options for having the roof repaired and made great recommendations. Rodas team was great in providing me with technical information/backing and pictures to convince my insurance company to cover the roof replacement. Their estimate was very reasonable and their workmanship was great. Rodas offered to replace couple of shrubs they broke while replacing the roof at their own cost. I was so happy with their work in general that I declined their generous offer on the shrubs. read more

He was quick, responsive, and diligent in his efforts to make sure we were fully on the same page before getting things started. Along the way Lyle and Dylan were both helpful if ever needed and jumped at any chance to help if needed. Daniel, our project manager and main contact once the construction began was constantly keepings us updated on progress, permits, timeline, and upcoming plans. They delivered an awesome final product on a very quick timeline for the scope.

I called Roofwerks several months ago for two things:…read more [#1] I had a specific leak in my roof that turned out to be coming in through a broken spot under an attic window. [#2] I wanted to get a quote for re-painting my metal roof with a sealant. I paid that invoice, and called again several weeks ago for two more things: [#3] We had a leak in a corner under our roofline where two gutterlines meet. The insurance appraiser suspected it was due to a gap under the roofline that rain was blowing through during hard wind. I was hoping they would install some sort of flashing or protection over that gap, which would probably require gutter removal to reach. [#2 again] Since I hadn't received an estimate after the first job, I followed up about that. The people who came out (5/25/2022) did not fix the gap under the gutter corner, though I don't know why: it has since been fixed by another provider. Instead, they applied a single stripe of sealant down a roof line where there was no evidence of leakage. They also said they would provide an estimate for tightening screws and re-painting the roof for maintenance. This already felt like redundant work, since that's what they had supposedly done the first time, so I really didn't expect the expensive invoice that followed: $840+tax. I responded asking for clarification of the charges. (They quoted $168 per hour, and two men were there for 1.5 hours. That puts the paint used at $336.) I didn't hear back, so I follow up two days later, to which I received a reply that she was working on it. Two more weeks later, I followed up again, and was promised a prompt response. On Tuesday June 21, I got an email that the invoice had been dropped to $625+tax... still a flat price with no breakdown of hours and materials. Again, I asked for clarification of the costs, but at this point also decided to write this complaint. I ALSO PAID THE INVOICE. (I clarify this because I'm not doing this to justify stiffing them. I can afford $678, but I can't afford to spend any more time or patience waiting for an explanation or follow-through. My time is better spent making a BBB complaint and sharing my experience here.) So, to summarize: - They charged for duplicate work, since they were supposed to have provided an estimate after coming to address the first leak but never did. - They painted a single stripe down the seam of those roof lines and then tried to charge $336 (later $121) for the paint. - There was no evidence of leakage there. The actual leak was later repaired by another provider in the original spot that I pointed out but that they didn't repair. - It took two of their people 1.5 hours to look around the roof of a 1020sqft house (again, for what, I don't know, since they had already been out to estimate this before) and paint a white stripe that didn't need to be painted. - They still haven't provided an estimate that I think I've paid for twice now.

Unfortunately, the roof was 3/4th of the way done before I noticed the color shingle wasn't what I had ordered. Although the manufacturer had sent the wrong item, Artisan immediately took full responsibility and asked me how they could make this right. They offered to redo my roof with the right color, however we settled on a discount from the work done. I feel their entire communication and work with me to resolve this was 100% excellent. As a matter of fact, I am so confident in their company I have scheduled them to also install new gutters (using the discount from the roof!) Their price and initial bid was LESS THAN an individual who had also been recommended by a neighbor whom I would have expected to be less than this professional company. They sent me a detailed, itemized list of exactly what they would do and exactly what I needed to do to prepare. From start to finish, this was a great experience, in spite of the hiccup. My new roof looks great and I'm getting used to the color!

Was not expecting that but it was greatly appreciated since we don't live nearby. The entire roof (shingles and a LOT of underlying wood) was finished by lunch time !!!
