After many calls and efforts to acquire the plans from the architect, we received them and forwarded them to Michael. Then, we get an email from Susan today saying they are too busy to do the quote or pursue the project due to our timeline, which was just to start the project early next year. I think we dodged a bullet. I have no tolerance for people who give you the runaround and then don't follow through on their end. I run 2 businesses, and if I treated my clients like that, I would have been out of business a long time ago. If you don't have the time to do projects stop wasting potential clients time and just tell them up front that you aren't taking on any new projects.

We live in the Oakwood neighborhood of Raleigh, which is about 1.5 miles from downtown. We thought that RALEIGH Deck & Screen Porch Builder would be a logical company to reach out to since we live in the township of RALEIGH. RALEIGH Deck & Screen Porch Builder "respectfully declined" our inquiry. Moreover, they were kind enough to explain why. Vic (the owner) told us that his company "can't risk being stopped with people jumping on our truck." He also told us that even "before all of this mess" homeowners near us refuse to keep their garage doors open. I feel like such a fool! Here I am, taking daily walks with my wife through the neighborhood and walking by multiple construction projects, having no idea what really goes on. I thought I knew the area well, but I should take the word of Vic, who once played softball nearby. Vic also explained that we "live by the biggest section 8 housing complex in North Carolina." I really appreciate this highly relevant piece of information as it directly pertains to my screened-in deck. Some might wonder why Raleigh Deck & Screen Porch Builder didn't simply and succinctly decline the work. I for one appreciate a detailed explanation as to why this company does not want to accept my money in exchange for its services. The builder informed me that I had purchased the model "as is" and they would not remedy the problem. They referred me to 84 Lumber. After two phone calls 84 Lumber responded and took complete responsibility to repair the system to like new condition at no cost. They left one small item unfinished, but returned 3 days later with the last remaining finish piece to make the door look perfect. An admirable work ethic and knowledgeable work skills to finish the job properly.
