JM did a great job with a full replacement of my deck with a half covered portion. Antonio was helpful with working through a few options for the work scope, and the quote was fair. The crew was very friendly and completed the work very quickly but with care. Overall, I'm glad I chose them for this work and would recommend to friends and family. read more

Finally pulled the trigger on our screened-in porch and back deck after dreaming about it for 10 years, and JM Decks and Fences crushed it. I gave them my original sketches and ideas; they ended up building something way better than I had envisioned. A few things that really stood out: * Pro-active Communication: I was never left wondering what the next step was; they kept me in the loop the entire time. * On-Time & Reliable: The crew was punctual and stayed on schedule (even on those very cold days), which is rare to find. * High-End Craftsmanship: You can tell they take pride in the details. The build quality is top-notch and feels incredibly solid. If you're looking for a team that's easy to work with and delivers exactly what they promise (and then some), I can't recommend them enough. read more

JM Decks and Fences was the best decision we've made for our house. We actually called out Christopher three years ago and got a quote to try and replace and add on to our deck. Our financial situation changed and we were not able to build a deck at that time. Fast-forward to three years of additional savings and we called the same company again. From the very moment that I said my name, they said "hello Mrs. Dodder, good to hear from you and thank you for calling us, do you have the same project in mind?" And they immediately pulled up our project plans and everything that we had proposed three years prior with not a moments hesitation. And honored similar pricing. I was so impressed I knew right then and there we had to stick with this company! From Parker coordinating plans to Christopher Severino still remembering us, Antonio Alvarado the project manager being so incredibly helpful, patient and ever-available to help us with every detail throughout the project, he was masterful. Our incredible crew that felt like family through the process- the kids called Oscar Spiderman because he is so agile climbing up on everything! Adán making his precision cuts, and José with his infallible craftsmanship and attention to detail. Truly a kindhearted crew with a dedicated highest-standard work ethic. We could not have been more pleased to have worked with this company and are truly so thankful to have chosen them. The deck is like an extension of our living space and we are so so pleased how every aspect of this project was completed, they really went above and beyond! read more

JM Decks exceeded our expectations. We have been enjoying it now for about four months. It greatly enhances our use our back yard. Friends have admired it and asked for the name of our builder, which we have gladly provided. I'm glad we opted for the LED lighting package. That's probably the feature that our friends find most impressive. The added lighting also enables us to use the deck well into the evening in a cozy environment that would not be the same with floodlights. The crew were courteous and very efficient. Best of all - they cleaned up everything when they were done. The back yard was spotless! read more

JM Decks and Fences did an INCREDIBLE job with our deck! The pictures speak for themselves, but I'd like to emphasize the quality and careful craftsmanship that is especially appreciated when you see it up close-everyone that sees it comments on how well-done and beautiful it looks! The job was not easy - they completed it in the winter time when the ground was frozen and there was even a snow day. Nevertheless, the JM Decks team was quick, attentive to detail, respectful, communicative, and kept the workspace clean and organized. They completed the job quickly (despite the snow!) and immediately hauled away the old deck parts. They checked in with us several times to make sure we were happy with the progress. Everything was done to code and the quality of their work was outstanding. I would not think twice before hiring them again and have already recommended them to several friends and neighbors. Thank you, JM Decks! read more

I worked with Christopher on all of the details from the initial consultation to the design, meeting with inspectors and execution of the job! The guys who did the work were so meticulous and professional. They went the extra mile and put a nice little mounding around each post and that added detail really made it shine. Our project was a large screened porch with a deck. We were so pleased with the porch that we had JM build a six foot fence for our back yard. While these were large projects, JM Decks & Fences were five-star throughout. We had contacted several contractors before JM: some never responded, others thought the job was too large or too complicated. From the outset, Antonio from JM made it clear that he and JM knew what they were doing, from the materials they would use, to the slope and configuration of the roof, to the size of the porch and deck, to details like layout of the floor boards. From the consultation to the completion of the project, Antonio was with us throughout. The proposal and contract that spelled out the details of the project and pricing was comprehensive and very professional. Christopher in the front office kept us posted on timelines, inspections, and any follow-up items. Their electrician made some suggestions on lights and outlets that have greatly enhanced our enjoyment of this new space. The carpenters that built the porch/deck are true craftsmen: the details in the build are truly impressive and special. We cannot say enough about how good these guys are. We have gotten compliments from neighbors, inspectors, and other contractors on the quality of job. We absolutely love our new outdoor living space! Once the porch and deck were completed, we asked JM for pricing to replace our old backyard fence. Like the porch, we got the same professional estimate, detailing materials and style. Within a month we had a brand new 6-foot fence with gates. The fence shows the same high quality craftsmanship and materials as the porch. Overall, JM Decks and Fences are the real deal: awesome service, outstanding craftsmen, reasonable pricing. Five stars all the way! read more

The team at JM Decks exceeded expectations. They ripped out my old rotting deck and constructed a screened deck. Work quality was exceptional...even the Town of Cary inspector made some comments about it! Communication was outstanding and even though the deck door was about 6 weeks on backorder from the supplier and everything else was finished, they didn't ask for final payment until the door was installed - I appreciated that. read more

I highly recommend JM Decks & Fences. They recently replaced wooden railings on my deck with aluminum rails with solar lights on the posts, designed a privacy screen on my deck and patio, and installed a vinyl roof under the deck to create a large dry entertainment area in inclement weather. Every representative I dealt with, from the initial contact with Antonio, to the crew and administrative staff, were knowledgeable and extremely professional. The crew lead by Oscar were amazing, arrived punctually and cleaned up when work was completed. To give them an A+ is an understatement. The Company's founding statement that outdoor living is an art, not an afterthought - clearly describes their approach to creating innovative solutions for clients. read more

Christopher, Antonio, and the JM team did a fantastic job building a massive privacy fence on my residence in Cary. They were fast, responsive, and built a high quality fence, as well as a beautiful pagota with cedar shingles on top for the main gate. There were a few items they had to come back and fix, and there were a few change requests, and these were all handled professionally and quickly. I give my highest referral to JM. It was a great and satisfying experience working with J&M who built a 3 season room, 2 decks in addition to a mini one for a hot tub, a patio area with a seating wall and a walkway. They were referred to us by a colleague and they did not disappoint. J&M was responsive with clear communication and provided fantastic design ideas at a competitive price. The work done was top-notch, and the quality of the job was second to none. Chis was a master at the design, Antonio had the best ideas with his experience in the field, and Wilber was a master of woodwork/construction. Everyone was very kind, happy, and respectful. The whole team was fast and precise with their work and said what they were going to do and when. These guys work quickly without taking shortcuts and keeping the quality of work high. Any issues that came up were resolved quickly. All the Raleigh inspectors had great things to say about J&M, and everything passed on the first time it was inspected. We now have a backyard we're proud to share with our friends and family. We highly recommend this company! read more

Stop looking for a deck contractor. These are your guys. Fast. Accurate. Friendly. Always keeping in contact. quality construction and in hone 3d design service. From Wes with his awesome designs,Wilbur and the construction crew, to Antonio who know more about how to build a deck and make it look great than about anyone around. I had a terrible deck off the main floor over the walkout basement ( so the deck is 15 ft in the air). These guys worked with me for 2 months while I tried to figure out what I wanted. Super helpful and patient. The First day of the job. the old deck was gone and the new deck was framed. Within a week all footings were approved by inspectors, poured and main support posts installed. The rest of the hob went just as smoothly. Great experience. Highly recommend these guys read more

These guys are great! We just moved to a new house in the fall and were looking for someone to do a fence first. We saw their sign in our neighbors yard and they had just done their new screened in deck. It was beautiful! We called them and they were the best price. They did a great job and were very efficient and quick with getting the fence completed, especially during this very busy time! We wanted them to do one thing different and they were very prompt in fixing that. Communication has been really great as well. We then wanted somebody to build a screened in deck for us as well. We ended up going with them again and they are doing a fabulous job. They again are very communicative and letting us know the process. They work hard rain or shine, cold or warm weather. I have loved having them do all of our projects for us and we have been very pleased with them! I highly recommend if you need a deck or a fence done! read more
