We wanted to just repair it, but he explained that to do it right the wall needed to be demolished and a new one put up with a proper foundation. After getting several other estimates, for similar amounts, we decided to go with his proposal because his assessment was the most logical and knowledgeable and we felt we could trust him the most. We were right. The quality of his work was exceptional. He and his two helpers were real craftsmen, incredibly hard-working, pleasant, came and left on time and cleaned up when work was completed. And, most of all, they have real pride in doing things right. Couldn't be more pleased with the whole experience.

We hired Production Construction to redo our 135-square foot kitchen. We chose them because of…read moretheir strong reviews and better pricing. Demo began on March 10. Work on the job took 19 weeks, with long periods of no work being done. We didn't expect the job to run past May 31 and had to ask them to take a 6 week break for things we had planned before work started. We were finally done on August 31. One of the subcontractors made a significant mistake, resulting in a safety hazard, and PCI didn't catch it, or discuss it with us, until we eventually saw the problem. We had to raise the issue and insist they figure out how to fix it. They wanted to charge a significant change fee to do so, our supervising contractor became hard to contact, and we had to contact upper management. They offered a significant reduction in the change fee, which we accepted because we wanted this project finished. On the plus side, the subcontractors did excellent work (with the one exception), and our new kitchen is beautiful. We gave them 2 stars because of the problems with project management.

We have hired MD Handyman multiple times and are always satisfied with the cost / value proposition…read moreand outcome. The first job they did for us was remove an old sliding glass door and install a new one. This job was much more involved than I expected (I know because I watched them do it!) but they worked steadily and diligently to get the job done. The framing wasn't an exact fit but they did their best to make adjustments for the previous molding to match the newly installed door. They went above and beyond the quoted job to address any concerns I had (including some that were me not communicating my wants adequately) and never up-charged without consent and a clear explanation. Based on our experience with the door installation, we hired them for a round of additional jobs several months later that included: - power washing the exterior of our house - cleaned our gutters - correcting the installation of a roof exhaust vent (initially installed by someone else) - repairing / replacing various bits of rotten wood / woodpecker damaged wood on the exterior of our home - repairing / replacing various deck boards - re-painting our deck - address concerns of leaking pipes in a guest room over our garage - fixing a broken exterior light fixture - fixing a broken interior light fixture - fixing various bits of molding around our garage door - patching various holes / cracks in our driveway / exterior area around where we have a lot of water drainage, pursuant to supporting said drainage - having a load of junk hauled away - having some toppers installed on some hand-rails on our back deck - repairing / repainting all of the wooden shutters on our house (I think they did 20 of them) While we had to work to understand each other, they had an employee who was fluent in English to help translate whenever the discussion required it. We exchanged lots of photos (I probably sent 27, the more the better to help them understand the requests) before meeting in person to confirm the work list and an initial estimate. We also extensively e-mailed throughout the course of the job. I get a little wordy (can you tell?) but they were always patient and polite with me. On our first job we provided the materials, on this job they sourced the materials. There were additional (expected, no surprises) costs for the materials. They did a great job sourcing materials including having paint mixed to match as best the store could. For some of the job (such as the concerns of leaking pipes) they actually talked me down from having extensive work done (the problem was not as bad as I thought). They could have just done what I asked and charged more but instead they essentially talked themselves out of work, which really underlines how honest they feel. We are really satisfied with all the work they've done and will continue to use them. I think it is possible to find a service with more exacting standards, and I'm sure that service charges top-dollar as well. MD Handyman strikes the right balance between cost and quality to continue getting all of our home-repair work for the foreseeable future.

This experience was unexpected, especially since I had previously used Miguel's services to install…read moreseveral cameras, and that transaction went very smoothly. Approximately one year later, I contacted the company to have the cameras reset, as I did not have a ladder tall enough to reach them, and to install an under-cabinet ducted vent hood. The microwave previously installed in that location had already been removed, the duct opening was prepared for the vent hood installation, a 120V receptacle was already in place, and no electrical work was required. All of this was explained before the job was accepted, and I confirmed the quoted cost for both services on two separate occasions. Unfortunately, there were several instances where Miguel did not arrive for scheduled appointments and failed to notify me that he would not be coming. This continued for approximately a week and a half until he unexpectedly arrived one day. He successfully reset the cameras; however, when it came time to install the vent hood, he stated, "The office quoted me the wrong price, and I charge $250 per hour because I am a technician." He also mentioned that his teenage daughter had accompanied him. I had not hired or agreed to pay for an additional person to assist with the work. Miguel then refused to complete the installation at the quoted price and requested an additional amount equal to 100% increase of the original quote, effectively doubling the cost. I declined and paid only for the camera reset service that had been completed. I am disappointed by the lack of professionalism and poor communication. Had there been unforeseen issues or additional work required, I would have understood. However, that was not the case here. If there was a pricing discrepancy, it should have been communicated before the appointment, giving me the opportunity to decide whether to proceed. Increasing the price on the day of service, without justification, is not a professional business practice. Based on my experience and some of the other reviews I have read, this appears to be a recurring issue. Unfortunately, I cannot recommend this company.

We are very happy with the tile installation by S-Tile in our two-bathroom remodel project. When we…read moredecided on the tile we wanted, the big box store sent out their measurement person who had never installed floor tile in his life. I had questions about where cut the 4" waste pipe so that it laid flush on the floor and how to trim around the tub and vanity. He simply told me, "Not my job". After two measurements, and numerous calls to the company, we decided to find another installation company. That's when we found S-Tile on Yelp. Nimsy was very professional and knowledgeable with the installation process. She offered to send an installer out to measure the next day. They sent not just an installer to measure; they sent the person who would do the installation. Alex was great. Not only did he answer all my questions but also told me he would help to ensure the waste pipe was cut to the correct height. He made the measurements on a Thursday, and I got the quote that day. And S-Tile's quote was half of the big box installation. Alex started installing the tile on the following Monday and completed it on Wednesday. The toilet flange sat flush to the floor with Alex's help determining where it needed to be cut. The finish around the tub and vanity are exactly as I asked that it be left for my trim work. We could not be happier with our new tile installation as performed by S-Tile. I would recommend them to anyone wanting an easy process and professional installation. I've added photo and will put up more once the project is complete. Thank's S-Tile!

Valentina Cordoba offers nothing Elite about her services. I…read moreended up paying $31k out of $41 for a Lowe's builder grade master bathroom and she never gave us faucets, mirrors, lights or vanities!! She only brought me Lowe's Tile even after I said I didn't want it. All the tile was heavily discounted or being discontinued. She charged us $15,250.60 for the shower and she didn't want to tile to the ceiling. The tile butted out from the crown so much so that we had to have the crown removed and replaced in the shower, which she charged us $2156 for 3 pieces of crown molding. I had to buy more tile from Lowe's later on and it was $3.50 a piece. In a meeting, she mentioned how she wouldn't work with someone who had their own tile even though she kept referring to a client and showing me photos who spent $50k on their bath. Lo and behold she let it slip how that client had their own tile. However, she loved to reference that photo. We paid her $2449.50 to supply and install a frameless shower door. The first shower was broken. She accused us of breaking it! It took total 8 weeks when it was supposed to be 4 weeks and we only got a partial bathroom. Eventually we did get a replacement shower but she refused to just refund that money from the contract and let us have it installed with my new contractor. She only offered a new shower which she ordered on Wayfair for $500. We paid her $412.30 for vanity lights. I was able to see these because she had them delivered to my house. They were $30 each from Amazon! They looked so cheap and dinky. We paid her $375 for mirrors. After seeing the lights, I refused the mirror. In good faith, I gave her back the Delta faucets over $475 with explicit warning that we would not pay for them. She gave some ridiculous reason about insurance and those faucets. At every turn her answers were no, can't be done or pay more. At one point, she told me the look I wanted for my niche was an AI generated photo and that it wasn't real! It was such a farce. We went round and round over a basic built in look I decided for the niches. She talked me out of one large niche instead of 2 citing it would look messy with my bottles. At the time, I agreed. I hate them now because I lost precious space and her worker shorted me even more space by leaving excessive tile overhang all around. To achieve this look, a carpenter needed to perform a miter cut. She referred to her guy as a 'master carpenter.' Any master carpenter should be able to perform a miter cut. Either her 'master carpenter' could not do it or she just refused. She never said why or gave the option for us to pay extra for this one. She cost me a 15 year warranty with my heated floor, which initially she only wanted to do a strip from the door to toilet. She charged me $2778.75 for that strip then told me for $400 more, I could have the entire floor. Of course we chose the whole floor. I had a previous quote from another contractor for $2k on that floor. We now have a 10 year warranty because she didn't own the megohmmeter to perform all the necessary tests required by Schluter for the floor. She also almost ruined my lifetime warranty on parts because she didn't use the specific mortar required. Thankfully, I caught it in time for them to purchase the correct mortar. She refused to give me the warranty info during the installation process which would have clarified she didn't have the meter. She waited until the end and beyond with my husband and I begging her for the warranty information. She was completely unorganized and tried to appear more important than we think she was. Her assistant LIVES in INDIA! She's so cheap she employs a woman who has to work nights to answer your emails. Even her subcontractors, electricians, refuse to work with her anymore. The electrician apologized to me one day because he was standing there during a conversation with me, Valentina and her workers, which btw, she sent her workers home then, stating they were frustrated. Her spanish only speaking workers looked confused. It was 10:30am and they'd only been there maybe an hour. The electrician apologized for Valentina on that day and told me I wasn't the only person who had issues dealing with her, that she can be aggressive and bully ppl into doing what she wants instead of the homeowner. The kicker and the reason we fired Valentina was because she measured the vanities incorrectly. She wanted to cut my door trim or better yet, she wanted her 'master carpenter' to cut the back of the vanity, which may have affected the drawers. She wanted to charge us a custom fee on top of that if they were cut, after the $10k we spent for the vanities. I learned just how inexpensive those vanities were during this process. She later charged us $1500 for a restocking fee for those vanities!! She said she would, "write off that remaining balance for us." Yelp cut me off at 5000 words
