I did my homework and had 3 estimates from different contractors before starting this job. JM came in the middle on pricing (way below the highest estimate). The contractor that gave me the lowest estimate didn't want to go through the permitting and inspection process so that was a big red flag for me. The highest priced contractor wasn't even able to answer some of my most basic questions even though their estimate was several thousand dollars higher than JM Decks for the exact same job with the exact same materials. This was a complete tear down and rebuild of a double deck (1st and 2nd floors) and I wanted to be sure it was done right since my family will be using the upper deck a lot and I want the peace of mind of knowing it's safe. The crew that came out did a fantastic job on everything from tearing down and removal of the old deck, to building solid concrete footings and building the new deck. The office staff did a great job of dealing with the permitting process and providing me with the drawings I needed to get approval from the HOA. Communication was excellent throughout the whole process and everything was done in a timely and professional manner. I have already recommended JM decks to friends and would recommend them to anyone. 5 stars!
