I have used Stonewall Structural Engineering after long term water damage at a home. We handle water damage on a daily basis. Whenever there is a potential structural issue, it's great to have a reliable resource like Chuck and his team to scope the damage and provide a report. My crew thought that the water damage was limited and easy to rectify, but Chuck and his team provided a complete remediation report that was much more extensive than what we thought. We used them for some engineering work that was said we could use our blueprints that we had. It was changing windows to doors. Something wasn't correct with the report so another worker that works with them came to check out what the mistake was. He said "they never should have gone off the blueprints and the person that did this was recently let go anyways". Sadly they charged me for both engineer reports. It was a bad way of doing business and honestly would not recommend them due to their mistake and not making it right. They just wanted to charge more. read more

Could not preform the request, said it was out of scope. I still had to pay for a report that was not in the scope of an engineer's field. Would never recommend them. I was under the impression that they had done both architecture and engineering, and it was never corrected when we discussed it. Then not only did they create the plans for us, they did so in a way that was the most expensive over the top way that almost required it to be changed. And of course to make that change they wanted to charge an additional $800. Absolutely don't waste your time or your money with this company and pick somebody else. The quality of the work was just fine however, it just felt really slimy and money grabbing. read more

I contacted stonewall at 10:39 AM. This is my first time inquiring about structural engineering. The admin who answered the phone was very disrespectful and unprofessional. I read the reviews and reached out for a project to remove some walls and build a carport. They were on time, communicated well while on site, then ghost. A few weeks later I got an email stating payment was due in order to receive my report. I tried to get an outline of the report to see if it covered what we agreed. I was verbally assured it was and if there were any issues they would fix them. Stating they guaranteed permit based on their documents. I paid and got the report. I was disappointed. The cost was triple my expectation and I have since I have had to get another engineer to provide the information stonewall said they guarantee. They refuse to communicate with my architect which has made this relatively simple project cost swing way out of budget and time. When I told them of my disappointment they simple stated we delivered what was in our contract. The report they proved was two pages, no drawings, and missed key structural needs. Inspectors showed up on time. However, I am still waiting for the report that should have been sent two days ago per our contract. When I called to find out why, I was given a list of excuses as to why they did not honor the contract. They were not very apologetic and actually got upset with me! read more

It took a week from initial contact before we could get a date scheduled with them. This is not waiting a week, this is waiting a week just to get any date from them. That should have been our first warning. The technicians onsite where professional, but we were told we would receive a report within 7 business days that would list out any recommendations in order of importance. He said he writes up his report the next day, but it takes the owner up to a week to review and approve it. When we got the report it was 2 weeks later (after two emails to them asking when we might receive it) and the items were not listed as discussed. When we followed up with the owner, he brushed us off with a single line that all items are recommended. When asked about a discount for their tardiness, he merely insist we send him a check. He claimed payment was due at time of service, but no one asked us for payment and indeed his invoice was dated the day he delivered the report. Now I can't even be assured that the quality of the advice is trustworthy. Update: No reviews prior to my negative experience, then three 5 star reviews show up all on the same day. read more
