She provided an estimate for the work very quickly, estimate looked good, we decided to move forward and she kept us informed of progress on when the carpet would be ready for installation. Scheduling and installation went smoothly and the team completed the entire upstairs of our house in one day. For those looking for new carpet, be warned that old carpet being removed and new carpet getting installed will have a ton of fiber dust that will cause a lot of dust floating in your house. We were told this ahead of time and we blocked off rooms with plastic in the door frames to keep those rooms as clean as possible. They have so many styles, designs and textures available. We received a tour from Betty, who's grandfather started the business! She showed us all kinds of carpets and we also got a chance to see the remnants which is a great choice if you are looking for a rug at a discounted price! They also have light fixtures and other things available for purchase as well. All of the staff are amazing and they were all so accommodating and open to questions. You can "shop around" the Raleigh/Cary area as I did and you will NOT find a more hardworking, committed, professional contracting business. They did their best to work within our budget while also offering good advice and suggestions about our design choices. (And they don't charge extra "consulting fees" for that part of the service as so many others do.) We were thrilled with the results and particularly love our new kitchen and master bath. We had given DHD a deadline to meet because of a large party we were hosting. One of the final steps was finishing the wet bar. When the installers were placing the granite countertop (about 2 days before my company arrived), it broke. Luisa (co-owner) immediately went on a mission to find a suitable replacement. She came through and was able to get the new granite installed the very next day. When the kitchen tile was laid, Jesus (co-owner) found areas he was not pleased with and immediately had it ripped out and redone so that it was right. Luisa and Jesus care about the quality of work that their subcontractors do and will personally do whatever they can to make sure that everything is up to their standards--including working late nights and weekends if necessary. Their follow-up is exemplary and they have been quick to respond any time we've had an issue that had to be addressed. Jesus does a lot of the work personally and his strong work ethic shows in everything he does. Although English is not his first language, he is quite fluent, listens well, and communicates easily. Luisa is a talented designer and consummate professional who truly cares about her business, her clients and the ultimate satisfaction with their projects. We were extremely pleased with our experience with DHD and would definitely use them again.

Unfortunately the same cannot be said of the office staff coordinating the project. We were shown one piece of stone for our countertop which we rejected and removed the countertop from their scope of work. They ordered a clear annealed glass window when the materials list and building code required a frosted tempered glass window in this location. It took nearly 6 months for the proper window to be installed.
