Tom came out three times to get the best match of the color based on my request. He is very patient, professional and pays a lot of attention to details. The price is also very reasonable. I really appreciate when the business is getting the job done correctly no matter how big or how small it is!

The company was great working with us by phone, email, and coming to the house to assess things for the project! After installation and payment, though, communications were slow and things weren't addressed to correct problems. Carpet has unlevel ragged seams, gouges, puckers, and missing padding. Downstairs planks squeak, snap, and sound hollow with ridges and cracks appearing right away and getting worse. Pictures and measurements shared with the manufacturer and Molina (who talked with them) determined that the sub floor is the reason for the floor failure. Manufacturer required guidelines stated on the store contract were not followed. The solution is to pull up the planks, flatten the concrete sub floor, and install new planks. Unfortunately, Molina wouldn't do that. Our 25 year manufacturer wear warranty is voided. We're upset asbestos tiles (tested positive) and vinyl sheet flooring to remain were pulled up - putting our health at risk. After four months of asking for things to be made right, we asked for a refund. A conditional refund offered would let Molina take the defective flooring and have us promise to not speak of our experience (see the CRFA at the FTC site about this). We feel that people should know about our experience. We can't stand walking on the floor and seeing it get worse and worse. We will have to go to a different company to get replacement flooring at our expense. We would not recommend Molina.

This last time we didn't feel as comfortable looking through what was available and what prices the store was asking for the carpet. I tried to support a small business. I really did. If you're going to close the store then at the very LEAST tell your customers by posting this information online or on the automated voice message. Despite having in writing that items like the bookshelf, handrail, and stair landing were included, the contractor abandoned the project before completing any of those elements. Their communication was sporadic at best, and I was often left waiting with no notice or explanation. When I finally insisted they meet the extended timeline I had allowed, they responded by filing a mechanic's lien against my home--a retaliatory and questionable move considering the state they left the project in. I have hired legal counsel and am actively pursuing a resolution. I would strongly recommend anyone considering this business document everything, and proceed with caution. I regret trusting this team with my home.

But I'm going to make an exception with Dan and Floor Coverings International of Raleigh. It cost us almost $12,000 to have 1,200 sq ft of new wood flooring installed in our home. Within 1 week of the installation the floor started to bulge and floor boards started "cupping up". The issue continued to get worse over the next several months throughout our home. We asked Dan to explain why the floor was "cupping", a term for the boards bulging and pulling away. He said we had a moisture problem. and there was nothing he could do. We had to replace the floor because our guests were tripping over the floor boards. Prior to having a replacement floor installed, we had the concrete subfloor tested for moisture and the test proved the floor was extremely dry. Moisture could not have been the problem with Dan's installation. Since then Dan refuses to return our calls or emails. We didn't receive any reimbursement of our $12,000, and were unable to save any of the wood that he installed (an additional $9,000). We received no value for our money and experienced poor quality workmanship and terrible customer service. Fortunately, when we replaced the floor, we used a different company called FootPrints Floors. Shawna and her team were extraordinary! Our new floor looks fantastic after FootPrints installed it.

I got connected with them through Costco, and going through Costco is a great way to buy carpet. My sales rep came out to my home and showed me the different types of carpet and gave me accurate quotes. The installers are sub contractors which is typical for the industry and they did a great job too. This is a company I would recommend without hesitation. Tips for buying carpet (now that I have gone through it): 1. Think about footprints. If you are the kind of person that squeezes the toothpaste tube from the bottom, you might also care about footprints in your carpet. Certain types of carpets hide footprints better than others and give a more uniform look. So if you care, ask specifically for it. All carpet however will still show movement to some degree. 2. Test the carpet like you will use it. A lot of carpet shopping happens on show boards where you will find yourself rubbing your fingertips on different carpet boards to compare. But what do you really do with carpet? Vacuum it, walk on it, maybe lay on it. Literally do all of those actions on the showboard carpet to get to know it. 3. Avoid the small swatch. When you are getting serious about a carpet and want to see the color, you might order a swatch. A 4"x4" size won't tell you much. Ask for the larger piece. You might have to pay a small fee for it but it will be worth it. 4. Buy based on warranty, but don't count on it. Search online and you will see that carpet claims rarely result in the homeowner getting replacement carpet. The warranty does however show you the confidence level the company has in that particular product, so it should be considered for that reason alone. 5. Know the two types of carpet. Most household carpet these days is nylon or polyester. Do a little bit of online research before your rep comes out and it will go a long way. 6. Observe color in 2 types of lighting. You might be surprised to see the color difference when the sunlight hits the carpet fiber vs. your overhead lights. I hope that these tips are helpful and hope that you have as great of an experience with NC In Home Flooring as I did.

Damaged furniture and left without informing us. We are concerned about our HVAC system and if the flooring was properly installed. Manager was extraordinarily angry, condescending and rude when he phoned me to discuss my request for remediation. If I could give the flooring back I would. Worst customer service experience of my life by far. I would caution you to do some research before working with Carolina in home flooring. I wish I had.

We needed our kitchen floor replaced because the wood laminate had some water damage. After getting…read morea quote from a local competitor, we decided on Floor Masters because they were cheaper after including a Duke 10% discount that Marcus alerted us to. We appreciated the promptness of measuring our kitchen and providing a quote. Unfortunately, after paying the first half as a down payment, there were delays in the shipment of materials that pushed the installment back 11 days. We felt that Marcus' communication during this time could have been better, particularly since it left us without a stove for over 2 weeks. The final product (pictured below) looked good overall, but we were disappointed in a couple of the decisions with quarter rounds that looked funky. Marcus did get someone out to fix it within 24 hours. The final charge wasn't what he initially quoted, but that was remedied with a few emails. Overall, Marcus' communication was not what we were hoping for, and we likely won't be going back to Floor Masters.
