Description of complaint: Engaged Specialized Refinishing for work in 2021. Work completed, company invoice was paid and Lifetime Warranty was assigned. Contacted them today, Aug 1, 2025, to exercise the Lifetime Warranty only to be told that there were unwritten conditions to their Lifetime Warranty. My shower pan had a long crack and was in need of repair or replacement. I did a Google search to identify potential companies in the area that do work on shower pans. I made a list of four companies and called each of them. My conversation with Specialized Refinishing Co. stood out due to their professionalism over the phone and the speed in which they could have someone come out to take a look at the issue. Miguel arrived on time/as scheduled and was able to quickly assess the issue and determined that it could be repaired. He progressed the repair in a timely and efficient manner. He was very professional and ensured that he handled everything appropriately to not leave a big mess in my bathroom. Somehow, while he was refinishing the repaired area, water from the shower head got released and damaged the refinishing. I was very disappointed as Miguel could not tend to the water damaged area right away. I would now have to wait until after a couple days when it sets before the water damage could be fixed. I went ahead and paid the full amount of my bill before Miguel left. I was asked to contact the company by phone to schedule a time when they could come back out to take care of the water damaged area. I called, left messages, sent emails, and text messages but did not receive a response back for a couple days. When I finally got someone to give me a call, they were not able to work me into the schedule until a week later. I was not happy about that. In fact, I wished that I had only paid half of the bill and then pay the other half once they returned to finish the job. I felt that would have probably expedited the completion of my repair. In any event, Miguel was sent back out a week later to fix the water damage to complete my repair. He did not arrive as scheduled due to an unforeseen issue at his previous job; however, I was impressed that he still pushed his way and came at a later time to ensure that my job got completed that day. After Miguel got finished with the complete repair, I was very happy to see the results. My shower pan looked brand new and feels stable. Miguel did an absolutely fantastic job getting everything done professionally and aesthetically pleasing. I am very happy with their work. I would have given this review 5 stars if it were not for the hiccup I encountered in trying to get the rescheduling completed in a timely fashion. We had them do 3 vanities and 2 showers in early 2023, late 2022. May have been in two sessions, as we asked to have the same installer back. We are thinking about using them again, and this is why this Yelp review is about 2 years after. We reviewed elsewhere previously, and can report that the refinishing has held up well in the bathrooms. Everything was great, from start to finish, and the installer was really good, the support staff responsive and professional. Great value and appearance. They vent the fumes, but, I would recommend opening the windows as well. read more

I contacted Specialized Refinishing Co.in April 2023 to get a quote to refinish two bathtub/shower combos, I was quoted a price of $1000.00. I agreed. I was sent an invoice, lifetime warranty and other pertinent information via email. I was also told they needed a credit card number to hold until my appointment, and it would not be charged until after the work had been completed. I agreed, I was scheduled for 02May 2023. The technician came early on the morning of 02 May 2023, job was completed around 3:00 PM. After the job had been completed, they immediately charged my credit card. I then noticed that there were some flaws, cascading runs, pooling over sprays etc... Since that time, I have been trying to contact them to have someone correct the flaws. I have sent the office I first contacted, and the owner Will Schien several messages, texts, and numerous emails which all have gone unanswered. It has gotten to the point that all my calls go directly to voicemail. COMPLETELY UNSATISFACTORY!! There was zero hassle to get my money, now it has turned into a nightmare as all communication has dissipated to nothing. DO NOT UNDER ANY CIRCUMSTANCES HAVE SPECIALIZED REFINISHING DO ANY WORK FOR YOU. SAVE YOURSELF THE TIME AND HASSLE, TRUST ME YOU DONT WANT IT. BLUF: Overall, we are ELATED with the results, the professionalism of the company and how painless it was to schedule and then pay online securely. Details... I contacted Specialized Refinishing by email and submitted photos after dropping a stone from a potted plant into our porcelain main bath sink. The heavy rock cracked the sink in 4 places each 7-9" long radiating out from the impact point. Good news was it did not break thru completely. At first I looked at replacing the sink but this model is no longer made and with counter literally fitted to the sink's unique shape, I though we were in for a major bath remodel. Luckily, after searching for possible other options, I found Specialized Refinishing's well done web site. After reading many positive reviews, I took photos of the damages (white is hard to photograph) and emailed them for evaluation. The next afternoon, we spoke on the phone. The young lady thought the damages could be repaired. Since I was already in the dog house with the wife, we immediately decided to try this repair option! The young gentleman arrived on time first thing one morning a few days later - exactly when they said they would per advanced text notice. Oh, it is important that you do not continue to use the item to be repaired to give the area a chance to dry out thoroughly. I had taped off the faucet so we would not forget. The person doing the repairs also inspected the damage closely and agreed he could repair it for the fee as quoted on the phone because they did not need to use fiberglass reinforcements. I authorized the repairs and about 1 - 1.5 hours later, he completed the repairs. We were told not to use the sink for 48 hours but we let it sit 72 hours just to be sure. Once we were able to put a good strong light on it and get up close, we can just barely discern where the the radiating cracks were and that's only because there are so many shades of white. It is difficult to match any color perfectly and we knew that going in. In fact, you'd have to know the sink had been repaired to probably even notice. Thanks so much. Alex refinished my Jacuzzi tub today and it looks brand new! He was prompt, professional and clean. Great quality work at a reasonable price. I need some counterwork done as well. Alex let me know that they can handle that for me too! I'm hoping that I get him again. I would highly recommend this company for anyone looking for refinishing. read more
