My wife discovered this store when she wanted to go to Whole Foods and mistakenly came to Natural Grocers instead. I consider that a good mistake since Natural Grocers has some great items. We bought several varieties of organic nuts (delicious), organic chicken, and other hard to find items. Service was friendly, and I like that they accepted Apple Pay and other contactless payment systems. Although I live in Bellevue, we are in this area often to visit other stores in the area, so the location is convenient. read more

Recently came here to grab a few things since I was under the weather. Medium sized grocery store with tons of great options I've never heard of but the prices were really great as well as practical necessities. One man was working the front though it was dead in the store. Shelves were recently stocked as well. Plenty of great items on sale as well as hard to find items. Great reccomend! read more

I have been shopping at Natural Grocers on Dodge St since they opened years ago. Today i went in to buy a 6 pack of pelligrino water. There were some individual bottles on the shelf which is unusual. The cardbaord case was missing. I asked the cashier if i could get the 6 pack pricing since i was buying 6 . It would have been a little cheaper than buying individually . I was told they couldnt do that. I was shocked! Since when can they not make small overides to please their customers? I have bought lots of pelligino on a regular basis from there but i will not be buying my pelligrino water from there anymore. read more

I've had this place on my radar for a while but finally stopped in yesterday. Since it was my first visit, I walked each aisle to see what they offered. The answer is - loads of stuff! I'd say about a quarter of it was fresh produce and over a third to half was vitamins, supplements, and health/beauty products. The meat section was especially small but loads of options for bulk cereal, nuts, sweeteners, spices, and baking supplies. Also a good selection of frozen foods and lots for vegans. It was fun to shop at an unfamiliar place with different products/brands than I usually purchase. I walked away with some ginger root beer (really good!), healthy dog treats, organic bananas, herbal tea, and a few supplements I was looking for that couldn't be found at Walgreens. Maybe pricier than Aldi or Trader Joe but they offer a lot of things other stores don't carry. Busy but not too crowded on a Saturday afternoon and the checkout people were very friendly. Overall a very nice store. I find most of the stuff I buy is comparable in prices if I were to get it elsewhere. Usually go for groceries here but I recently look around more of the store and have found other items I may try. Things like vegan soap, pre-made microwaveable meals and even insence. I hope this store stays a long time. One gripe.... I feel like the lines move slow and or they never have enough isles open. Of course isn't that everywhere. read more

Due to Covid, I have been avoiding grocery stores and I order all my groceries by delivery. Recently I planned to make a quinoa salad & had all the necessary ingredients delivered with my other groceries. I assumed I had the quinoa, but it turns out I was wrong. I found out that Wednesday mornings at the Natural Grocers on Dodge from 8-9 are especially reserved for people like me so off I went. The store is surprisingly well-stocked. There's a beautiful array of organic produce, a meat section, a refrigerator case with a variety of nuts and a bulk area where there were many kinds of beans, grains and quinoa! There's a big section of supplements and natural health products as well as books and a file with information leaflets on many topics. This is just a sample of the things I saw as I walked through. The place is full of stuff but very spacious. They are following Covid protocols with masks, distancing, and disinfectant. One thing they don't provide is bags for your groceries. Bring your own or you are welcome to take a box from the stash at the front. read more

I really like the place because they do offer a lot of stuff I can't get at too many other places and they offer reasonable prices on most stuff. That being said I hate the staff here and the other location on Center out west. Not sure why the employees think they are so much better than everyone else and really do not want to be helpful. They also have a very poor online coupon/rewards program. Prices ring up wrong and the employees don't care. Very sparingly do I stop in now. Natural grocers has turned into one of my go-to staples for grocery shopping. The produce quality is the best in town I feel. The natural and organic focus I also love. They have tons of dry goods, and unique food items that are tough to find other places. I was able to find a semolina flour, Tomato paste in a tube, star anise... etc where all other grocery stores failed I have found it here. They also have what appears to be a large soap and make up area but I have not ventured into it. I love this store for some great quality items. read more

Of all the chain health food stores, Natural Grocers is my favorite. It's vibe is much more jam. Whereas Whole Foods is personified by blonde hitting a vape in her Range Rover absent any attempt at feint, Natural Grocers is your INFP neighbor who traps stray cats to get them spayed and neutered. You know who would shop at Natural Grocers? Dustin Hoffman's character from "Meet the Fockers." "You killed an innocent creature of the sky?" Don't get me wrong: for a couple of years I lived 2 blocks from a Whole Foods and I was there all the damned time (RIP, Whole Foods Capitol Hill; my review for you is probably my favorite I've ever written.) But I'm over Whole Foods, what with the whole Amazon thing. Anyhow, Natural Grocers makes me nostalgic for the surprising surfeit of natural/new age/health/wellness stores present in my smallish hometown. Those stores are a refuge for the sensitive, perhaps a bit paranoid, but otherwise harmless sort. The staff is more along that line, as well. They seem thoughtful and eager to help, which I prefer to Whole Foods' HR policy of, "Who has a neck tattoo and a haircut that would get them beat up in rural Arkansas?" All these detours taken, shall I get to the point? Most people know that an organic grocer is going to have items that are more expensive than their conventional counterpart. Personally I'm not really woo-woo about non-organic produce, so I don't usually buy produce at Natural Grocers unless I cannot stomach the thought of stopping at yet another store for one stupid bell pepper. I do care about the sourcing animal-derived products, and while I've mostly converted to a plant-based diet, my other half has not, nor do I see him doing so. Being the primary grocery-shopper, I do my flesh/interspecies mammary fluid/chicken periods here. They have a wonderland of home products (I LOVE INCENSE LIKE OPRAH LOVES CHIPS!) personal care products, and supplements, which is why I only go to Natural Grocers if I'm not expected anywhere else for several hours. They do have their N-Power program for which you can register via email, enter your phone number upon checkout, and receive discounts and coupons here and there. It's not going to save you big bucks, but it exists. They do not have plastic or paper bags. Bring your own, buy their reusable ones, or upturn your shopping cart into the trunk of your car. I know it's a chain or whatever, but I've grown fond of this place. I mean it's halfway between my house and Whole Foods, the latter of which has seen a lot less of me lately. Let's see, NG is a bit pricey and not quite as nice as Wild Oats was (remember that place??) and not quite as nice as Whole Foods IS, mainly because it's seriously lacking a full service deli and meat department. And there's no hot food to be seen, heard or smelled. And no beer, wine or other booze, so you might have to hop across Dodge and top off your grocery list at Bag N Save. Still, if all you need is some organic kale, frozen berries, faux chicken, a box of some exotic brand of chai and a refill on your 5 gallon jug of water (only $1.25!) -- etc., etc. -- then NG has you covered. I've loved this location, but I will go out of my way to go to the other location from now on. I had a horrible experience with the employee named Nate. He asked me a question twice during checkout, and I have poor hearing and I kindly said what was that? He flipped out and said: "since you refuse to answer" and shoved my stuff at me. I still don't know what he asked me. I didn't say anything for a moment and then responded that there is a difference between refusal to answer and being unable to hear. That's why I said what? Usually when someone says what did you say, it means they cannot hear but apparently Nate has a different definition of this term. He then proceeded to yell and chastise me, rambling about not speaking loud enough before and needing to speak louder. It didn't make much sense. He then proceeded to dismiss me by shouting NEXT ON 2, at which point I didn't say anything else and just left as I no longer felt comfortable in the store with Nate being so angry and hostile. I will not be shopping at this location ever again and Nate should be issuing me a formal apology. read more

The store is clean and the prices are decent. I came to the store a couple days after the mask mandate in Omaha had expired. The staff that I saw were wearing their masks and nobody gave anybody problems if they were or were not wearing masks. My body my choice. If you treat this as a specialty store, 4 stars. For just a regular trip to the grocery store, this place is more of a 3 star for me. It definitely would not meet my needs for what I typically make day to day (Asian store, trader joes, and Hyvee would fill that niche). This store caters greatly to anyone searching for vegetarian, vegan, and health products. You won't find the most of the brands you probably look for at Hyvee or Bakers, which isn't necessarily a bad thing, just different. The vitamin and supplement section alone was larger than any I have ever seen in any regular grocery store. It was quite impressive. I would liken this store to be most similar to Whole Foods in town, or the organic/health section in some of the newer Hyvee stores. It's cool to look at, but I left empty handed after browsing. I love Natural Grocers! I used to shop at Whole Foods, but now I get all my groceries from Natural Grocers. At Whole Foods you really had to pay attention, because they would mix glyphosate sprayed GMO produce in with the organic produce. At Natural Grocers all of their produce is ORGANIC, so I don't have to worry about it. I also love the fact that Natural Grocers doesn't over price their health supplements. I can get everything from oregano oil capsules and elderberry (which are great to treat colds and flu). Natural Grocers staff is also friendly and helpful.. Love it. read more

Being extremely into my health and spiritual well being there is something about this place that makes you feel part of a community and not just another customer buying groceries. As far as "Natural/Healthy" grocery stores go in Omaha, Natural Grocer is my go to! Selection, staff, and cleanliness are top notch. The only time I've experienced a lack of things I needed was the day of a storm and apparently everyone else did their shopping the day before. I'm on Day 16 of the "Whole30" and Natural has everything I need to stay Whole30 compliant. They even have sugar free bacon and turkey bacon! Plus they carry a nice variety of Tessemae's Dressings and Marinades, which are great and also Whole30 compliant. My only complaint is that they don't carry Tessemae's Ketchup, BBQ or Buffalo sauce. If you are looking for something that Baker's or HyVee don't stock, be sure to check here. Chances are Natural Grocer carries it. read more

I haven't been in here for a long time and decided to stop in for some vitamins (fish oil and Vitamin E). What a great place! Those who are Kombucha fans, there's a whole cooler dedicated to the awesome drink; including the ever elusive Master Brew. Perusing the rest of the store, there are many gluten free items and anything organic you could possibly think of under the sun. Almond, Soy, Coconut and Cashew milk all here (and regular cow milk too). Also, the largest selection of Amy's Pizzas I've ever seen. I love this place. I cannot replace it anywhere in the Omaha area. Bring your own bags or they have boxes. I'm a great-grandma and many of the cashiers try to jam as many items into each bag as will fit. I cannot carry heavy bags. I can make a lot of trips, but NOT carry heavy bags, walking being easier than weight-lifting). This isn't just an age thing -- many of their customers have been sick and that's why they switched to eating organic and shopping at Natural Grocers. I presume they don't prefer heavy bags either. Finally I brought a lot of small bags. Some cashiers are visibly annoyed by this, but my items all fit. But even with small bags, I end up re-bagging my items when I get to my car. Sometimes they fill a bag with heavy stuff -- glass jars & bottles, juice, cans -- leaving my other bags empty. I remember preferring fewer bags as a youngin', but the store needs to train on bagging for their customers. A few have done great, but that's the exception. It's easier for me to bring the small bags and then rebag at my car. But winter is coming and it will be cold and windy in Omaha. I'd rather NOT have to rebag my stuff. I had not been inside this store since Wild Oats was bought out by Whole Paycheck, but my friend needed to buy a few quick things on the way home so I decided to go in with her and check the place out tonight. I was under the presumption that their prices were on the higher side, as most Organic food stores are, yet they were pretty much comparable to the other places, but when we started to compare what you could find in Hy-Vee's or Bakers Organic sections they held their own or better. Bulk raw almonds were about $3/lb cheaper, the greens were a good price, plus the place didn't feel like it had those pretentious hipster zombies roaming the aisles. I wandered over here recently while waiting for an oil change. First, my general observation is that their organic prices are about the best in town - they are more competitive than whole foods and your traditional grocers such as hy-vee or target. They are lacking in not having a meat or seafood counter but their overall price points make this place a win in my book. read more

I enjoy coming to Natural Grocers. I was so glad to see them in Omaha after getting used to going to them in Lincoln. It is an entirely different experience than Whole Foods. The lack of 'rock star' attitudes is a plus. the staff is so friendly and eager to help. the prices are fair for what I need to pick up for my weeklies. Natural G has a spacious layout and good selection at reasonable prices. I like their bulk stuff and produce in particular. The nutrition and H&B sections seem to be vast, but I do not generally shop them. Plenty of parking here and a good mid-town location round out all the reasons why I will visit this place again, even as an out-of-towner. read more

I love this place. It's always clean and nice inside. There are a few sale prices here and there that let your try new things without a big risk and the prices are sooo much cheaper than "whole-paycheck." The selection is a little limited on some ideas and I'm sure if you have a favorite something or other they would try and get it for you. I don't know, I thought it was just me until I started going through the reviews. I walked in this morning (6/7/2020), and asked the clerk at the register where I could find the Palo Santo wood sticks because a friend had them at her dinner last night and they smelled so good, and I decided to purchase them. She was so cheerful and helpful and I was all set for a pleasant experience. Then, I found local hummus but it didn't have a nutrition label so I took it up front to ask about it and (this explains the cheerful checker, she was new), and the lady training the new girl very curtly says "yes?". I asked her about it and she merely told me to look it up on the website because she didn't know anything, and I replied I had already done that. She then started murmuring some other stuff, so I just went and put it back, and went back to the register and paid for what I originally went in for. Next time I need these, I'll try the other location, although it doesn't sound like the other one has any better employees. I definitely won't be back to this one, unless I get really desperate. The store staff is always very friendly and helpful. I really like the fact that they carry the Gin Gin brand of "Candy". They always have boxes available too in the event you purchase more than a handful or you don't quite have enough shopping bags. Like that they do have debit/CC terminals to pay with. Store is also easy to get in and out of. The only thing is the store hours on the door are a little odd, but thats just round about hours I guess. read more
