This is the worst experience I have ever had with a contractor who appeared to be professional…read more Here's what happened: They performed maintenance on my 4 year old Navien Combi-boiler. Everything checked out and the system was stated to be functioning normally. BUT Dave thought the system could be better if I added a different circulation pump. He also thought the system should be re-piped. As the bid for everything was close to $5,000, I opted to replace pump for $864. Soon after the pump was replaced and that maintenance work was done, I noticed the pipes were clanging when the heat went off. They said air was in the system and wanted to replace the air vent. Before they could replace the air vent my system broke down. It took them a week to get back to fix the problem (that's right! No heat or hot water for a week!). After it got running again the clanking continued and when I called to ask why, I was dismissed and asked to "pay up". I decided to enlist another company certified be the manufacturer to give the system a closer look. You won't believe what they found! The pump they installed was the wrong size(was suited for a large commercial application) and they installed it UPSIDE DOWN! The technician also found the heat exchanger had failed and there was carbon monoxide and gas spewing from it! It had to be shut down immediately was going to cost me $4,250 to get the system repaired! I hold Cedar Creek Mechanical and Dave Sutton responsible for this but to this date there has been no effort by him to make things right. Whats more, the suggestion for the repiping was all wrong. The factory certified technician said it was wrong to move the pipes on this system the way he suggested. So here it is: This company does bad work, suggests things that don't need to be done and then claims no responsibility! I believe they are also overpriced when I compare to others. They might try to deny this, but my system was running fine. I have it in writing. I have all of the receipts. We will see what the judge thinks!

This company tried to scam me in November 2025. I hired George to replace all HVAC ductwork in the…read morecrawlspace. The short story is this company did not do the work hired to do, lied that it was done and billed me for it. When confronted and given a second chance, the company again pretended to do the work and outright lied that it had been done. It's that black and white. I hired George the owner to replace old HVAC ductwork. George quoted me $2600 to replace all ductwork in the crawl space and insulate it with hard pipe. The day the work was scheduled, he didn't show up. I texted and he said "Sorry, we are getting all the materials, we go to emergency job yesterday, we are stopping by today to start work." Note the use of "we." This indicated to me that he was involved in the material purchasing and the work. The next day he sent photos of the "finished" work and an invoice. When I went to check out the work, I saw the pipes had not been replaced. I contacted George. He said he would make sure it was all replaced. The next day he sent photos and a video saying it was all done. I crawled into the crawlspace and NONE of the pipes had been replaced. New insulation was wrapped around only the pipes that were visible from the opening of the crawlspace to make it look at first glance like the job was done, but when I pulled back the shiny new insulation, it was covering the old original pipes from 1925. When I went further back into the crawlspace, nothing had been done. They hadn't even bothered to wrap new insulation. They assumed I wouldn't see it. I called George and confronted him. He blamed it on his "guys" and said they told him they did the job. Either way, as the owner, he's responsible to check the job, especially after being told it wasn't done and being given a second chance. If his guys lied to him the first time, you'd think he'd go check on it the second time to make sure it got done. Even if he wasn't on site (which his texts made it sound like he was), he'd notice from such a big job that no old pipes were disposed of and none of the new materials he supposedly bought had been used. So it appeared to be intentional deception. He did not expect a female to belly crawl into an old nasty crawlspace and check the work, and thus tried to take advantage of that. I refused to pay him and he said that was fine. I can't believe a company would so blatantly said they did the work - twice - when they did not.

Tropicool responded within minutes and said they'd be out first thing the next day. They showed up as promised, got the furnace running in no time, did a preventative check, made sure my curious children didn't fall into the crawl space, and dealt with my dog's incessant barking. When I went to pay, they said "no charge." I think my jaw hit the floor, but I recovered enough to tip the technicians who showed up on time, repaired the furnace, and were pure kindness.
